One Heart One Voice (109,771) by Xavier mariohmix from Spain
Same here. I've made a playlist with the different versions and I'm trying to learn it by heart. Jejeje.

Interesting about Caution. And yet I find it her most tightest well put together album since Butterfly. Personally I like her albums where she had guidance. My worry is that if MC16 doesn't live up to her and Gamma's expectation she will once again say that her next one MC17 will be her most free and on her own terms she's ever made.

I think when MC said that she was referring to how she felt about the rollout of Caution in this article. She disliked how the Epic AR executives rushed her to make Caution and the instant grats album rollout.

It would be great is she releases that. And even more if it would actually be good and a hit. I think people, who are not her hard core fans, would be pleasantly surprised.

I think the most freely record/project would be "Someone's ugly daughter". I wish it would be released as a bonus just for the fans. But I know what you mean. At the latest "Glitter" every album was indeed completely "free". We'll see what Mariah means with her new free album version.

By the way, what does Mariah mean when she says this new project lets her create music freely on her own terms? I do believe this will be the most unmanaged album of her career (it took 7 years to even get to this stage). But I thought she created Butterfly, Rainbow, Glitter, Charmbracelet and TEOM pretty much freely without that much oversight or am I missing something? Even MIAMTEC was probably very unmonitored.

It's like she always goes back to the first three album narrative of being controlled every time she releases something new, unless those above albums (the later years) still had heavy input by their respective labels?

I am low key excited to hear what a completely free and unsupervised (on her own terms) body of work will sound like. But again, then what is LA Reid's role who is exec producing it?

Sorry Randy, I got too excited with the results of my search to realize that was wrong release date. Another reason I was on cloud nine today is because Nostradamus on X confirmed that another Skrillex collaboration made it onto the final MC16 tracklist. Is The Distance one of your favorite Caution songs too?

Aww, a dog lamb. That's too freaking cute. I seriously love those songs too. I still play IBLYLT, Cruise Control, I'm That Chick and Migrate on a whim. It takes me right back to summer 2008, my friends and I would blast this record driving the beach strip, windows down. E=MC² had so many bops, it's stupid. I sometimes forget Mariah intended for it to be Emancipation to the second power. Didn't quite have the same success but hey, she was in love and trying to get a family started, so we'll let the missed potential slide. We all gotta live. Still such a fun, underrated era.

Bobby A. Why'd you use that title? I got all excited like "wait, what did I miss?" But since you brought it up MIAMTEC came out May 27. The original release was July 23 the year before. And I'm glad you all like the album but for me it is her worse. I got it the day it came out and was more disappointed than I was when I lost my virginity. Caution was much better and is growing on me. I play GTFO constantly and even used it on my TikTok as the soundtrack for me quitting my last teaching job.

Just reminicsing about when MIAM came out 12 years ago. I was excited to walk into Target at 8am and purchase the deluxe version. Although, I thought the album title was too long, I was glad to have a new Mariah Carey album in my hands. I asked Google a question about MC16 and this old MCA article was shown for my question.

You don't know how many times I used to play and sing along to "I'll Be Loving You Long Time" in the summer of 2008. I still do some times. It's a real pity that it wasn't promoted properly. It could have been a hit. And Mimi in the video, wow.

By the way, I've always loved "I Stay in Love" as well. In fact, a dog of mine was called "Baby, I stay in love with you" (short version: "Baby") after the song because, when he was a puppy and I would sing that little part around him, he used to come to me. So that became his name, but in the singing mode. Lol. Everybody got amazed whenever I sang his name and he would appear from wherever.

By "very well done" I meant well written and that it has a nice melody. I wasn't referring to the production and editing.

After 2 weeks without listening to this song (I've been really busy), it doesn't seem bad at all to me. In fact, I think it's a beautiful song and very well done. Overall, Mariah is the most creative one in her vocals, but the most restricted of the three. Anyhow, maybe we were a little too critical of all of it when it came out.

I love "Sent from up above". The song has a carefree vibe and singing style that is unique. It's the carefree and hopeful sound that is representing the youth in general. Well, a 20-year old Mariah was showing music magic with her debut. The early 90ies were so good.

Not the Tommy tape. Those song titles were the tracks Mariah and Ben composed together for version 0.1 of the debut. As I said demos are made for every album of every song before it goes into proper production, and that screenshot of the tape with some song titles scribbled on it I’m not convinced is legitimate.
