About Lara from Middle East:
I discovered Mariah with "always be my baby"...Got hooked by "my all"..didnt know it was the same artist back then..I couldn't (yet) understand what she was singing! Since then, I've been a big fan and rediscovered her catalogue and appreciate her even more...Searching for her lyrics was my way to learn english :)

Looking at these pictures. Took me to the 4th picture to realize it's fake. Maybe because I was happy to finally see Mariah in a regular situation or maybe because that cold I have is really hard on my head. Nevertheless I want more of a not diva Mariah.

I really want a good video from Mariah with a nice story line. As someone else mentioned her last decent one was Obsessed. All the rest were like glamour shots. And NII might be the most appropriate for a story. Her line "closing my eyes was so unpleasant" seems to écho "close my eyes". She can't start the video with "young Mariah" and snippet of "close my eyes" and show some of the adversity she went through and keep going until recently from literally the "gruesome fall" in 2013, the NYC fiasco and Stella, the medical challenges whether from her bipolar, shoulder, voice, whatever she's going through to show how despite all she's still here. I'm sure she has tons of behind the scenes footage to use. And please no gowns and diamonds. We need Mariah to be relatable. Part of the comeback in 2005 was because her image post 2003 showed some humility.

I think the album will jump again with Christmas coming up. It would be great if she would release "Nothing Is Impossible" with a great inspiring video with Christmas vibes in it, an actual story line, like in Through The Rain. I think it would do so so well.

Some random idea (111,824)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
Next compilation idea could be The Covers like she did for The Rarities. Mariah has her way with covers disc 1 could be covers of recent popular songs with their author (might be expensive though to get the copyrights?), for example imagine her covering IDGF with Dua Lipa, Versace on the Floor with Bruno Mars, Please Please Please with Sabrina Carpenter etc. and disc 2 will be all the covers she already did. More wild, imagine her doing a duet with JLo, she's singing and JLo dancing. If there's any other single to get from HFIA, I'd like it to be Nothing is Impossible. It's her most relatable song. HFIA is beautiful but feels more personal. An idea for the video clip could be like a mini movie on her medical struggles that could explain why she's so stiff. And how despite it all she's still in the music industry because nothing is impossible.

It's sad (111,823)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
I agree. Mariah did her homework but didn't score. Is there really a conspiracy? Or is it because she's not relatable anymore? We all get she's a diva and she's fully on board with this but that might be the reason people get away. You cannot relate easily to her songs anymore. You cannot relate to her daily attitude. When was the last time you saw her in a lay down ensemble? It;s always gowns, diamonds and heels. And she doesn't move comfortably in them. Males you think why keep doing it? And in one of her recent appearances the host ask her about Crocs, to which she answers "yey" to which I was completely surprised. There was a lot of damage done from Stella's era showing her luxurious lifestyle, I think people cannot connect to her anymore and i.e. to her music.

Why does it need saving? The album is fantastic, a mature body of work that we have been waiting for, for a long time. Good quality songs that touch the heart. Who exactly does the era need saving from? From what I've read on here most fans are happy and are enjoying the music. Isn't that what it's about? Like many have said to chart top 10 after 35 years is amazing. Nothing needs saving in my eyes. Thank you Mariah for giving us this gem.

How can I get a message to Mariah? (111,734)

I have a feeling she's not into deep with him. More like friends with benefits. She might be with him just for the music inspiration. Somehow I feel Mariah is looking for the love but also know the player type and can't be fooled as easily as before.

How can I get a message to Mariah? (111,729)

Anderson .Paak. He is a serial cheater and he cheated on his ex wife. One of his sidechicks confirmed Mariah and him were together before they made it official and said he has cheated on Mariah several times.
Poor Mariah. This man is a total ho and even admits in his music he's a cheater. I wish could give Mariah a heads up, because he's using her.

Streaming (111,707)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
Mariah's fans fall in the non streaming category. Which is why she won't be able to score high nowadays. Unless physical sales count more than streams, or she manages to break through the younger population (without looking desperate) which she has failed so far. Taylor's new album got 140m + stream in 12 hours, but she has been building the anticipation since her last album. Somehow I feel Mariah would like to have a successful moment but same time she's not able to put on the effort needed mentally and physically. How do you explain someone who in her 5 years of career managed to make 5 albums needs now 7 years to make a new one? She's 56, medicated and probably suffering a chronic injury, thank God she's still putting good music for us. She's doing "the best that I can with what I have". Appreciate her input while it lasts. The charts don't matter anymore.

Article: Mariah Carey says music video coming for Sugar Sweet (111,657)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
The issue is that she has 2 people on this track which makes it hard to join them for a video and can explain the delay. Cardi B just released a song with Kehlani and dropped the video. Just the 2 girls in pyjama's, and it seems the song is doing well on charts. Sugar Sweet is very radio and TikTok friendly, it has potential but needs exposure, that's why she brought 2 persons on it to widen as much as possible its reach. Now let's cross our fingers. I have a feeling her kids have an appearance on it dancing.

Nothing is impossible / random thoughts (111,610)
by Lara from Middle East

Anyone feels like this is the continuity of "Close my eyes"? "I won't allow it." Who do you think it's about? I tend to say Nick (he once had a post saying he was diagnosed narcissistic) but also might be about Stella. I think Mariah in her recent songwriting is more elusive. I loved both her appearances in that Central Park walk and in Jimmy Fallon, specially that guessing game. I guess she can't say "I don't know her" about these celebrities. Also notice on Fallon appearance how she keeps her hand closed in a fist, she avoids keeping it open on its own and you feel it's always tense. There's definitely something, just hope it's not that bad.

HFIA reviews versus Caution reviews (111,600)
by BFF from United States
| |
|
|
I've noticed that the reviews for "Here For It All" are much more lukewarm than the reviews for "Caution". The only way I can explain this is that "Here For It All" is an album that is not pandering to critics or a particular audience but is an album Mariah recorded for herself and for the "ride or die" fans. It's the kind of album that "Me I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse" could have been if it had been released in its original iteration as "The Art of Letting Go", without the clutter of unnecessary, subpar tracks like "One More Try", "Heavenly", "Money" and those awful cut-and-paste "remixes" of "It's a Wrap" and "Betcha Gon' Know".
In contrast, "Caution" was an album that was rushed and lacked Mariah's signature touch because she was working with so many different producers. It was also clear that the label was pressuring her into working with current producers who don't understand her or her music. It also felt like "damage control" for the Stella years and like was pandering exclusively to the folks who became fans during "The Emancipation of Mimi" and later eras.
So many of the writers reviewing "Here For It All" seem to lack an understanding of Mariah's artistry and music and inventing things to criticize. In the Pitchfork review, the writer zeroes in on Mariah's purported "self involvement" as something to criticize. What recording artist isn't self-involved to a degree? I promise you that Beyonce and Taylor Swift are just as self-involved if not more so.
I also read a line where one writer claimed that "Memoirs" is a better album than this one. Say what? Who are these people? Have they ever listened to a Mariah album? There is not a single song on "Memoirs" that I like better than anything on "Here For It All".

Could be. Somehow I feel sad for her, he left but she got diamonds all around her and I got money. I think she's in that point where she realized that her success cost her the love she seeks so all she has is to enjoy her money and keep fond memories for her kids.

Look at her right hand how her thumb sometimes twitches. I think this is why you see her most of the time she has her hand in a fist position to hide that. That "gruesome fall" in 2013 made that. I wonder also what other damage it has done.

Call me party pooper (111,519)
by Lara from Middle East

It's nice.. specially for the current music scene standard, but I expected better from Mariah. And I don't mean the voice, I know it changes and I'm ok with it. You cannot relate easily to most of her songs like before, there's no structure, no correct rhymes, the verses seems so short, I'm gonna throw it in her medications, I'm sure she was most creative in her hypomania episodes since she has bipolar but medication just blunt those. She has fun cute lyrics that seems like written by one of her kids. I won't allow it has so more potential but its chorus is just one sentence. Nothing is Impossible is the best song on the album. Overall I feel the album is unpolished and each song is missing something.

Armbracelet (111,229)
by Lara from Middle East

She could have complex regional pain syndrome following that injury, or an unstable shoulder that makes her extra cautious in her movements. Noticed how she was wasn't only wearing a shoulder sling but something like gloves in her affected hand. Also you feel that hand has a tendency to be closed like a spasm. I'm positive there's a medical explanation, but that's Mariah Carey story to tell. Maybe she'll uncover it with her album release?

by Edward from USA

Mariah didn't break her shoulder, it was dislocated, which is a whole different thing. The doctors popped it back in, and with time it healed. She also cracked a rib. I bring this up because some fans love to rewrite history. Sure, maybe she doesn't have the same range of motion now, or maybe she's just being careful, who wouldn't be? But I don't think that old injury has anything to do with where she's at mentally today.
Back then, she actually sang beautifully with that jeweled arm brace, and once she healed, she was fine. Things really started going downhill during Contourella's reign of terror. With her fake "empower women" nonsense, she convinced Mariah it was okay to act out and even let herself be photographed in humiliating situations. She was also the mastermind behind Mariah blaming promoters and "outside forces" after the New Year's Eve mess in 2016. That whole period left scars. And while Mariah was clearly manipulated, she wasn't completely innocent in it either, which makes it even sadder. She hasn't been the same since. Contourella basically walled her off and inserted herself into every part of her life right when Mariah was at her most vulnerable.
What really gets me is when infantilize a 56-year-old to avoid holding her accountable for her choices and actions. Yes, she deserves lots of compassion and people around her who actually care, real friends who'll be honest, not just hype her up or leech off her. Even fans who used to deny it can see now that something's not right.
It reminds me of Whitney's last tour. You just know people in her camp were saying, "You sound amazing, go on tour," when she was clearly struggling. That kind of denial is dangerous, and it feels like Mariah's being pushed down that same path.

So I was watching season 2 of Wednesday Addams, I got serious Mariah vibes watching Morticia Addams. She has that calm, idgaf sarcastic delivery of words that reminds me so much of most Mariah's interviews. I think next Halloween she and the twins with Anderson .Paak should go for the Addams family.

Is it the medications? Or sequelae from her fall when she dislocated her shoulder? Sometimes I feel it's Mariah not Céline who has the stiff syndrome. Unfortunately, the young generation will probably tell her she's too old or just being a diva, while there's a real issue here.

VMA medley (111,008)

I loved it. How she blended the songs together. I'm sure most of the audience (who are not familiar with her repertoire) wouldn't noticed she sings the song on the background music of another one. I love that the priority was given to the musical performance. They had some elements of her videos but as usual Mariah is very slow on stage. I don't mind that, since she gave a solid performance, my issue is that she keeps wearing outfits you expect some dancing and movements in them. I wished she would switch to something more casual. I don't know how the general public will like her performance since nowadays it's less about the music and more about the energy and movement . Personally, I'm happy with it.

Changes (110,272)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
Everyone changes, we all get it, the only one who seems not get it is Mariah. What bothers me the most is the feeling Mariah is forcing her game. She's pushing to be sexy, she's pushing to belt and sing, she's pushing to be trendy. All of those used to come effortlessly for her... and sometimes she was a trend setter. She's trying to stay the untouchable Mariah of the 90s and 00s, ironically she was at that time very relatable and "touchable". A complete opposite of nowadays. At the beginning of the interview in Jimmy Kimmel, she was asked what took you so long to make this album, to which she answered something like "I was getting it together." Now that's more that we need, relatable Mariah. I'm sure her medications are interfering with her creativity and also her weight. Instead of just explaining, she's putting an act, which makes me sad how much she's trying to stay in the image she created instead of embracing her changes.

Sugar Sweet performance (110,227)
by Lara from Middle East

Kehlani has more followers on insta than Mariah. Shensea has half of Mariah's numbers. The reason why Mariah collaborated with them is to get more exposure to the young population, without compromising the song quality since their voices blend well... but unfortunately they also didn't promote it heavily on their stories like I think she expected it. Just like Mr beast on her video. Streaming is in the youngest age area, a category most Mariah fans don't fall into.

It's light, neat and sweet. Like a summer hit. Touch My Body vibes. I love that the lyrics are easily relatable. Their voices blend very well. "I hope that you don't mind" part reminds me of a song on Caution but I can't figure out which one (maybe because it's 7 am). I hope that song will get recognition.
