The impossible (111,998)

I'm glad fans are waking up to Memoirs. I loved it from the first listen. It's turned out to be Mariah's most listened to album in the streaming era, excluding Merry Christmas of course. I really hope Mariah pull out all the stops to release Angel's Advocate, unlikely but not being able to stream Angels Cry remix is wrong.

I've always loved MOAIA but my love for it has grown over the years. My favorite lately is Inseparable. Especially the part where she sings "But now I see that no one is Inseparable - except for us." I love it.
I also really love the part in Boy (I Need You) at 2:37. She sings "And never let you go boy, never let you go boy" and right after that line, right before the rap comes in, she sings either "they" or "babe" but I love how it sounds. It gives me life every time I hear it.

I understand, it's an album that was polarizing for fans. Definitely one of her most underrated albums. My absolute favorite song may be Candy Bling. Inseparable, The Impossible, Languishing are also in my head a lot. The entire album had no skips for me. I didn't mean to trash Imperfect, it just doesn't work for me. I feel like it's missing something but can't pinpoint what it is. Probably just a difference in tastes. With time it may ver well grown on me. Songs just hit different for different people and Mariah makes sure to include something for everyone in her work. Lots of love

Didn't mean to trash "H.A.T.E U" I just don't like it. I think the video could have been better too but you're right the album is definitely good and I can't believe I hated it before. I think the reason I like "Imperfect" is because of the music and production. HFIA reminds me a lot of MOAIA with songs like "In your feelings", Confetti & Champagne" and "Nothing is impossible". I also played "Obsessed" a few times because it's catchy and heck Mariah looks good. I like "Obsessed" because it's the song that broke Eminem and he has never been the same since. I just needed "Languishing" to be longer.

It was 1993. I was 15 years old. I was vacuuming my family room. I had my back to the TV with VH1 playing Mariah's live performance of Hero. You know when VH1 and MTV actually played music videos, lol. I stopped and turned around and thought, that voice - who is that? The rest is history. Mariah has that ability to put my feelings into words. "You look at me and see the girl, who lives inside the golden world; but don't believe that's all there is to see; you'll never know the real me" - Looking In. "They can say anything they want to say; try to bring me down, but I will not allow; anyone to succeed hanging clouds over me; and they can try hard to make me feel; that I don't matter at all; but I refuse to falter in what I believe or lose faith in my dreams cause there is a light in me shines brightly; they can try but they can't take that away from me." Thank you MC for providing me an outlet these last 30+ years.

Oh my gosh I've seen her cover of Music Box. It was pretty good. I just love that they do deep cuts. I think that's why Mariah will appreciate it. They're real lambs that happen to be able to really sing.

Those Filipino singers are something else. I've heard a few who can actually do her songs justice. I was really impressed with Morissette Amon. She covered the song Rise Up on a radio show and it was better than the original. She's done some Mariah songs really well too.

Reality is MJ's estate was magically stolen from him via fake signature right before his passing, which by the way, him and Mariah happen to be in the same music label. Thank you for proving my point about how shady these companies can be.
If you still can't connect the dots in this day of age, where it's not a secret evil runs Hollywood, where celebrities are openly talking about their experiences because you are scared for the life of you, to be labeled silly little names then you are simply behind. And I can't help that. Have a chill day, Bill.

Lol, you keep your little tin foil hat on and keep believing Mariah is being kept alive by a record company if you want to. You're the one crashing out here darling with your wild theory you peddled. I just bought it all back to reality that nobody in Sony is trying to kill her, or indeed is the reason she still walks among us. What you're spewing is nonsense so a reprimand and reality check for you is warranted. Also to add here's a little tidbit for you for future reference:
Distribution of royalties
If there is a will: The songwriter can specify in their will who should receive their royalties. This person becomes the beneficiary of the royalties, which can be the entire amount or a specified portion.
If there is no will: The royalties are part of the deceased's estate and are distributed according to the state's laws of intestacy, which determine the legal heirs based on family relationships.
Contractual obligations: The original royalty contracts may have specific clauses that dictate how the rights are handled after death.
Neither you nor I know what the situation with AIWFCIY, nor any other Mariah song for that matter, actually is - which renders your insane theory of her being "kept alive" as a cash cow null and void.
Nothing but speculation based on no evidence whatsoever.

I would like to ask Mariah why "Imperfect" did not make the album as it would have ended it perfectly. It's funny how an album will grow on you all these years later.

My introduction to Mariah (111,978)
by Libra Lamb from USA

It was 1993. A small town in Texas where the train tracks divided the white and black communities. Still does. To this day. Population. Less than 3000. In 2025 it's less than 1000. Some of my favorite people in my life and some of my favorite memories. My father still being alive mostly. 6th grade teacher, Mrs. B talked to the class about this girl singing this song called Hero and how she overcame a lot for her success and how talented she was. She was mesmerized by Mariah. One of my favorite memories now. Not knowing then that I would grow to absolutely adore this Mariah and be mesmerized by her eventually. To this day, I still love Mariah. More now than ever. Her latest artistic effort is a testament to her success and her talent. I love the new album. That's all. I feel like I don't share more personal things here because I've been guarded for so long. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. It's No Kings Day here where I live and it makes me very happy and emotional to see so many Americans doing the most American thing we can do, protest. Love to all. Especially to the fabulous and incomparable Ms Carey.

Just to reiterate.
L: Mariah pushes AIWFCIY to prove she's worth more alive than dead.
B: You're crazy. Makes no sense. Sony will make more money when she's gone because there's no need to pay her now.
L: Mariah still gets paid even if she's gone.
B: Whoa whoa, we don't know that, the royalties could go to her kids or elsewhere.
Royalties continue after death, which is a basic fact of how music publishing works. The income continues either way, that completely obliterates your first point about them not having to pay her.
Mariah isn't like MJ, he was fighting Sony in court, bought out other artists' catalogues, and had major battles over control on his last days. Mariah, on the other hand, minds her own business, merrily pushes her hits and isn't tangled in that kind of mess. I've made this point way earlier.
I've been having so much fun connecting with lambs here so please take a chill pill and tone it down with the unnecessary shade. Easy to remember, rhymes with your name.

I wasn't aware that you have seen Mariah's last will and testament, so thank you for the reprimand (it was very much warranted). We've no idea what the arrangements with the song, especially one that mammoth, would be. Royalties may very well go to Roc & Roe. It may very well be contractually she's obligated for a portion to go elsewhere. Just look at the mess with MJ's estate following his passing.

Also just FYI, since you clearly don't understand how royalties work. After Mariah's death, her share of the royalties would go to her heirs, and not disappear. Instead of going to her directly, they would go to whoever inherits her rights (obviously will be Roc and Roe). Sony wouldn't automatically get more unless they somehow acquired her share like buying the rights from her estate. Please study before trying to have to have a "gotcha" moment.

Wow. Taylor Swift didn't just debut at #1 on the Billboard 200, she made history by having all 12 tracks from "The Life of Showgirl" debut in the top 12 positions on the Billboard Hot 100. I haven't seen anything like this before. With 3.5 million pure album sales, and over 4 million including streaming, this was almost expected, but it's still absolutely mind-blowing. I wish I could fully connect with her music, but I'm genuinely happy for her success anyway. I remember how we all used to celebrate every time Mariah scored a #1 or broke a new record. I guess it's Taylor's fans' turn to experience that. They must feel like they're in heaven. I wish I could fully connect with her music, but I'm genuinely happy for her success anyway.

Jaker20 said Christina's got a Christmas concert movie coming up and it will be released theatrically. She beat Mariah to it. Then I suggested Mariah do kind of a docu-movie and a part of it will be how Christmas helped her forgive Walter. It's all make believe.

Bill, I think you're just being a hating hater. It's very well known and deep researched by many of us on this board that Mariah was cloned and the real Mariah was sacrificed by the Illuminati a long time ago. Exactly the same thing that happened to Michael and Whitney, they were "retired" early because they were past their cloning prime. And now, according to some extra digging I did, dark hairy forces are prepping "Christina Aguilera" to steal Christmas from this "Mariah clone".
It gets deeper. Mars, Neptune, Saturn, Jupiter and Uranus will align on December 1st, and that cosmic event, according to my astral digging, will stop Mariah from hitting #1 this year. And if that fails, they've got Ariana on standby for next year. If you add up all the letters in "Ariana Grande", divide by Mercury's orbit, and multiply by Mariah's whistle note frequency, you get 666. It's terrifying. I myself fear for my life with all this info I've uncovered.
Juut in case, I just want everybody here to know that I'm not suicidal.

I always say to those "yass queens", I was here before you and I'll be here long after you're gone. I don't remember Maria but I hope she is doing well.

The YQs... "lambs" when things are good, all gone when things are rough for more than 2 seconds. How many YQs haven't we met here during the years? Telling us to leave or listening to other artists? I hope that Maria still has some love for MC.

So let me get this straight. Mariah is being "kept alive" by Sony due to the income generated by All I Want for Christmas Is You. I've heard it all now. Forgetting the fact of course that, should Mariah not be with us anymore, more of the income generated from that song would go to Sony as one of the chief benefactors no longer needs a pay out. Honestly, just listen to yourselves.
