Article: Mariah reclaims her crown at Festival d'été de Québec (90,325)
by Betty from Canada

I was there front row with my blue poncho. When they swept the stage during her ensemble changes, it was like a waterfall pouring from the stage. MC was very brave and really made it Through The Rain.

Erratum: I meant to say Mariah, not patient. I work in health care, and I use that word a lot, hahahahahaha. Force of habit. Sorry.

Article: Mariah Carey on sex, shade, and those epic memes (90,323)

I'm pretty sure she was making James Packer wait until they got married so that eliminates him. Was it confirmed that she was with Damizza? If you take away those 2 it would be 5. I believe her.

Mimi Town Road / voice of the generation (90,322)
by John from USA

I hope this collab materializes. This will help reintroduce the patient to young listeners who are no longer used to hearing her voice. She should concentrate on doing features with artists that are still prominent and certified hitmakers of today. She did a similar strategy before TEOM, where small collabs, culminating in I Know What You Want with Busta that reintroduced her to the early to mid 2000s listeners. She was the voice of an entire generation for a while (90s) during which time her voice is literally everywhere and her songs almost automatically become hits just because she sang them.
Prior to the 90s, and for a while that was arguably Madonna and to a lesser extent Janet and Whitney in the 80s and early 90s. In the early 2000s it was Rihanna who can seemingly do no wrong, but even her radio/airplay and hit-making power seems to be waning now. Taylor Swift (and I squirm while typing this) is unfortunately, the voice of this generation. Her new song, You Need to Calm Down, sounds like trash to me, but is a hit just because its her voice and name that's stamped on it.
Knowing Mariah's and her team's penchant for not carrying out great ideas and suggestions from fans in messageboards like this though, this collab will probably not materialize. How many opportunities has Mariah and her team missed out on already?

Well, in her own words, One Sweet Town Road. Could be really epic if she somehow got a 19th number one, or jinxes the reign at number one to keep her record. Lol.

Well he's practically asking her help to end OSD's reign. But the song is already huge and his coming out hasn't affected its growth. M should jump on this. It seems like she hasn't yet decided whether she wants to remain contemporary or become a legacy act. This can help her make up her mind.

Could this remix already be done? Back in May Usher was in the studio with Lil Nas X and it was rumored they are working on a remix together. Not too long ago Mariah posted a photo with Usher in the studio, maybe this is all linked together. Well see, but this could be exciting.

MC should do it. If the remix is a hit, it will definitely be good for Mimi. Let's see what happens.

I wonder if this will happen? Lil Nas X has invited Mimi to join him on a remix. That could be cute.

I saw a few clips from this show. She sounded good from the small clips I saw. I'm hoping to find more longer clips. She has my respect for performing in the rain.

Grammy Album of the Year (90,314)
by jaker20 from US

Is Caution in the conversation for Album of the Year? I think she should be. Sometimes the Grammys snubs hot artists of the moment, and kinder to legends.

You need to go deeper, or better yet let it go. You have your opinion and everybody else has theirs. But opinions are not facts, so there is that. Onward.

It was the most horrible experience ever. She never let me go on any trips (so what if I got an ankle monitor and can't leave the US) or be a video girl (she didn't want my awesomeness to take away her shine). The only good part was all the free booze and her letting me teach Roc curse words. Madonna treats me like a human being and not just her umbrella girl.

Yeah and from what was perceived and written. It was a hot mess. Either that person can't write or she was a bit more than extra that day. There's been plenty of articles written about her in the same way and they weren't this weird. So what if it was just Cosmo? It was relevant and important enough for her to participate. Lol.

Caution Grammy chances (90,309)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I wonder has MC thought about increasing her Grammy nomination chances by re-releasing Caution to put the album back on the public's minds. Didn't Dua Lipa re-release her debut for the same reason? This special project she mentioned in Barcelona has to be the re-release of Caution. I think she and Usher did a remix to One Mo Gen. Something is about to happen. Whatever it may be, I want to hear those JD, Johnta Austin, and Bobby Ross Avila tracks.

I think there are many levels of having sex. Come on people, let's use baseball as an analogy. She doesn't go all the way with anybody. I've had many sexual encounters but mostly first second an third base. She probably means full penetration. Who cares anyway? Her sex life is personal, we are just her fans. I don't care who she took to bed. But I've always been secretly obsessed with Jeter, the baseball guy.

No, the letting go was of the past and looking towards the future. When she performed The Art of Letting Go live, she ad libbed and made reference to having to wear certain clothes and be a certain way, that was 100% Tommy, not Nick at all. There's plenty of kiss offs on Memoirs but they ain't about Nick because they were at the peak of their happiness. Go deeper than what's right in front of you.

The interview is what the reporter put down on paper and his or her perception of what happened in that room. By the way, it's Cosmo not Time magazine.

By family I was referring to Nick, just like Thirsty and all of MIAM and probably a lot of Caution. You have illusions about how she treasures family. She treasures absolute loyalty to herself. His is the same lady who has siblings as enemies and she cuts them off. When she breaks, she breaks. And by the release of MIAM they were separated. The writing of that project was all about their breaking up and letting go.

It was because he surfaced out of nowhere and started doing all these tell-all stories about their time together, and then kept bugging her across her social media to work together again. You're right, it was ages since they last worked together which is why she said he was clutching at straws for fame and could only use her name for attention. Mariah would not write a song like that (caps) about her husband at the time (end caps). This site needs a head banging emoji, it really does.
