I'm not concerned with Mariah's voice (99,424) by Lara from Middle East Most people will go and say she lost her voice, she's hiding it between smoke and mirrors. I might agree with that, her voice isn't as powerful as before, but for me it's her tone and huskiness, the fact that when you hear it on the radio you can immediately reconignize it that makes special and I couldn't care less about whistles and belting. Stromae released new songs after a hiatus of 7 years and that man has no voice but his songs, their lyrics, productions are just genius. It's like Mariah Carey before 2008 but without her voice, which brings me to my concern. What I am concerned about is her musicality, her layering and ad libs are messy, lyrics not relatable anymore. You can't have a melody from her songs. I want Mariah to have a work similar to Caution where you feel the production is really good but lyrically more deep. Videos that are not focusing on her physical appearance, maybe the bipolar medications are affecting this genius side of hers? (Friday 14 January 2022; 17:01)

Mariah tends to get bashed unfairly with these articles. It's pointless because of course if it's a seasonal song it's going to disappear after the season, it's common sense. Do we really need an article about it. I would think Forbes would be focused on writing an article of the finances this song brings her each year with all of the multiple deals her team sets up surrounding the song's popularity each Christmas. Forbes fail (99,420) by Brad from USA Why is Forbes writing about AIWFCIY dropping off the charts after Christmas? That ain't news. The other Christmas tunes do the exact same thing. Useless reporting. I used to love to go to the library and read that magazine when I was a teenager (yes I'm super old) but times have changed if this is what they are writing about. But I always wondering whether Khalid would be the one for My All, considering the song they did (Fall In Love At Christmas) is very melodically similar to My All and with all the acoustic spanish guitar type of song. Yesterday I saw the episode from the last season where Blanca leads Pray Tell to rehab, and suddenly AYNAF comes in, and they play almost the whole song, whistle include, while Blanca drives in her car. In the second season, where Blanca's children leave the house, they played "Love takes time". I think this is a great homage to Maria's legacy, and I hope she sees it. Not sure that is true. The I'll Be There lore is that Mariah originally wanted to sing Vanishing, but MTV insisted on a cover song, as every artist on Unplugged usually does that. In a last minute decision they all decided on I'll Be There and rehearsed it only moments before the show started filming. It was only due to the heavy rotation MTV gave the programme, and how quickly radio picked up on the song, that it then became a single and the EP released shortly afterwards. It's time for Mariah to sing and collaborate with [singers], tangible singers who like her, have that definitive gift of singing, that sets them apart from the fray. Will the song reach number one like I'll Be There? Re: Blending eras (99,398) (99,400) by Bill from the UK CB is a strange fish. It was the first Mariah album I was indifferent about. Like I wasn't overwhelmed like I was with Daydream and Butterfly, neither was I underwhelmed like I was with MCIIY and Memoirs. I was just, whelmed. If that exists. I remember, on first listen, getting more and more frustrated with the whispering as the album progressed, especially by the 32nd chorus of Lullaby. Nowadays, I see it for what it is, which was quite rightly put earlier as a premonition of what TEOM would be. A subtle nudge towards it, to test the water. It's definitely a "mood" album, where I have to be feeling a particular way, or the air feel a certain way, for me to book out the afternoon to listen to it (it's a long arse album as well), but when I do I always enjoy it now.
