That is another one of MC's past mistakes releasing her last two albums without a hit song. Hopefully, Type Dangerous will rise on the charts with streams and radio airplay because of the release of the music video, but ageism is kind of hindering MC right now. Sabrina Carpenter and Ed Sheeran already have two of the most anticipated albums for the latter part of the summer. Currently, Type Dangerous is number #22 on the iTunes chart. Next single (109,243) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I know it's premature to talk about this but I have been hearing rumours that the next single is going to be a ballad type duet with Anderson .Paak. There are a few reasons I don't think that's a good idea. - It's the TEOM cloning all over again which tanked E=MC2 and her future releases for trying to do the same format. I think her next single should still be another uptempo song. A fresh new sound like T-Dang. It's summer so let it be fun and something people can enjoy and feel uplifted. Some catchy lyrics, a strong chorus (Sabrina Carpenter dominated summer with her clever lyrics and choruses, the "I'm working late cos I'm a singer" or the catchy chorus of Espresso, or the digs in "Taste" and "Please Please Please" to name a few). So I think her next single should be uptempo and catchy. The general public is seemingly responding well to T-Dang not just lambs which is new and we need the GP to get success. - I honestly think if she is releasing any collaborations as singles it should be high impact and high profile collaborators that can benefit her on the charts if she really wants those #1's stacking up. At this point I think this will be a 2 part video or at least a video that has interwoven storylines like Honey/Heartbreaker because it says "a film by Joseph Kahn" so I don't think that's earth shattering because both have been done by her before (it is however very exciting if she does do one of the 2). Below are some of my guesses: 1) One of the Kardashians is involved. 2) Mariah gets her previous MV men to come back. 3) She gets her exes to make a cameo hahah this will be hilarious. 4) Taylor Swift? Because of the Joseph Kahn mutual friend situation. Now that would be earth shattering but I doubt it. 5) Miss RiRi on the remix? She looked absolutely breathtakingly stunning and every bit the mega star she is clad in that gorgeous gold mini dress fit for the music industry's golden girl. I liked that she was more playful with the performance, I do wish she wore more comfortable shoes so that she had the confidence to strut around by herself and strut onto the stage during the opening of the song it would have made it more fierce but I see her trying and I'll take it. I absolutely loved her second look too, she looked so angelic and pure and her speech was amazing. The little humor, her embracing her diva and extraness. This is a new Mariah era not just album wise but personally too. I also hear her team discounted the song right after BETs a smart move. I'm liking how her team is handling her so far. I love it and I love the whistles she did in one of the remix at the end. It's super catchy. I think Mariah really wanted Cardi on the remix. But ended up with Shawni and Stefflon Don. They didn't really realize how monstrous We Belong Together was going to be. It ended up staying at the top for a lot longer than anyone probably expected. What's crazy though is how Gen Z brought Obsessed back to life. Had Mariah pushed the promotion to the extremes it could've been her 19th #1. It's A Wrap is also another one, it became clear that the song had a lot more potential than people gave it credit for, it deserved way more attention. But my biggest bummer will always be A No No. Such a great '90s homage, and the way she mirrored the beginning of the chorus with TLC's "No Scrubs" was genius. Perfect ear candy. But the label let it fade to oblivion. Such a freaking shame. I was hoping they'd finally do her right after they let With You flop. It's like they missed the mark at every turn. Type Dangerous (109,123) by Edward from USA The beat is sick: fresh, modern, and definitely a grower. A little auto tune here and there, but she's earned the right to that, and it actually works in this context. I appreciate the fact that there are no whistle notes or any attempt at vocal gymnastics, it lets the vibe breathe. With the right feature, this could easily turn into a hit. I think it feels a bit too short though, just when it starts pulling you in, it ends a little too abruptly, like, we just got here, are we leaving already? Type Dangerous review (109,126) by Brandon from USA The song is fire. I love the production, the retro/jazzy beat goes hard and she sounds good and confident riding the beat. She's not doing too much with her voice and a bunch of unnecessary runs but is allowing the song to shine. It doesn't sound dated but sounds fresh and current. I could easily hear this playing on the radio and I'm sure we will. She released it at the start of summer which is perfect for this song. I hope she goes all out with promo because this needs to be pushed. My critiques are small: 1. I wish the song was longer and the chorus came back in where it currently ends. However that is the format of most songs today so I get it. 2. It gets a bit wordy here and there but I don't mind it. Overall, I think it's a great way to reintroduce herself to the masses.
