Might be the the most vibrant Mariah I've seen in a very long while.

How many of you are aware that Mariah and Narada Michael Walden are the writers of this?

Random thought | Hunt for palatable ballads (110,904) by Lambi from USA
Honestly there actually is an appetite for that sound. I've traveled to so many places, in New Zealand, there were ridiculous amount of amazing ballads on the radio. I was so shocked to hear how good their songwriting is. It felt like they stayed in the 90's and early 2000's. I feel like the U.S. still has the talent, but for whatever reason, actual quality songs aren't making it to mainstream radio. Maybe the industry has become so oversaturated that real talent is getting harder to recognize.

The last time I was truly ever "satisfied" vocally with a ballad was Bruno Mar's Versace On The Floor and Chris Stapleton's Tennessee Whiskey. Those Sia, Adele Or Beyoncé ballads didn't even hit the spot for me, fell a little short.

Anyway from my travels, here are songs that are solid melodically and productions Mariah can totally experiment with:

• Don't Let Go - Spawnbreezie
• Mirror - Madison Ryan Ward
• Fly - Common Kings

Let me know if you guys have any favorite local artist that most will never hear about (while we drag the longest 25 days of our lives). There are many hidden gems and I know the lambily got great taste (duh), so please share them.

Year end record? (110,903) by Lambi from USA
Oh my gosh, Bobby A. truly slayed all of us. When he said, "I am the glue that holds this board together" (I’m paraphrasing), I believe it even more now. Seeing the numbers makes it all the more real. Tripling most of us in number of posts is crazy. Great job, lamb. Keep this board interesting, peaceful, and festive for as long as you can.

My all (110,902) by Giovanni from USA
One of Mariah's best songs and hits. I listened to today and it sounds so good when you haven't heard it in a while. I also watched some of her live performances and I so wish she still had her Butterfly voice. Butterfly era Mariah was amazing.

Could Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis be seen as number 4? The two producers brought out some gorgeous melodies from MC on Glitter, Charmbracelet, and Rainbow. The dynamic duo would have been producers on TEOM if they didn't have prior commitments. They sent Big Jim Wright as their replacement.

Here for it all/The Era Of Mi (110,900) by Giovanni from USA
Do y'all think Mariah should have named her album "The Era Of Mi"? It's a very strong album title. Also I wonder what she is doing in the studio? Remixes?

Favorite ballads list while we wait (110,899) by Terna from Nigeria
Honestly, my favorite ballads by Mariah change all the time, just like the seasons and whatever I'm going through in life in general. I find her music very therapeutic across all her very distinct eras. Currently I have been playing some much more than others that I used to play before, but certain ones have never really left my playlist at all, ever since they were released. In no particular order here's mine:
1. The Art of Letting go.
2. Vision of Love.
3. Mine Again.
4. Through the Rain.
5. Fly like a Bird.
6. One Sweet Day (Mariah only version).
7. Never too far.
8. Joy Ride.
9. Heavenly (No ways tired/Can't give up now)
10. Anytime you need a Friend.
11. Butterfly.
12. When You Believe duet With Whitney Houston.
13. Faded.
14. Underneath the Stars (live from Tokyo Japan '96)
15. My All.

Yeah the people she collabs with defines the music, they will sound like it is from that era. Collab with Walter for example will sound like 90s diva vocals, JD etc would sound Emancipation era, and so forth. Their works are so recognizable from different eras, aka, dated. Is there hunger for that sound?

If she collab with younger producers, they can still be ballads, but more current and lyrical. And with the state of her voice, that's probably a good direction. For example, she would totally sound gorgeous with Finneas' Break My Heart Again or something similar.

With just a few days left for the VMAs Vanguard performance, what songs does everybody think should be on her performance list to best set her up for the HFIA era?

I suppose Type Dangerous and Sugar Sweet will definitely be there, what else should she use to fill up the 10 minute slot?

Superbowl Mariah (110,894) by Edward from USA
I agree on the fact that Mariah definitely has the hits to crush the Super Bowl Halftime Show, but hits alone aren't enough. Those performances move at lightning speed with no room for diva pauses. She can't just stand in one spot or rely on her "human sticks" to move her slowly across the stage. In my opinion, that ship has sailed. On top of that, the rehearsals for the halftime are relentless and precise, and according to Mariah, she doesn't like the stress. I wouldn't like her to put herself through that, we had enough with what happened on that new year's eve during Contourella reign of terror. I think she would've done great back in 2006 though.

I would be higher on the year end record but half my comments don't get published, freedom of speech huh? Anyway, despite the censorship, I still think this is the absolute best Mariah related message board on the web. One where the people are pretty realistic and respectful, and I hope it stays around as long as Mariah does.

Superbowl Mariah (110,892) by T from USA
She has the hit songs but it's more about the energy she can bring. People wait all year for the half time show and it would be a total bust to have someone just stand in one spot for 15 minutes.

It's because all the classics, and hits she's ever made has come down to working with three producers; Walter A, Jermaine Dupri, and Tricky Stewart (to a lesser degree). So you know when her and JD get together you get some good music.

Superbowl Mariah (110,888) by Terna from Nigeria
I know for a fact she can absolutely crush a superbowl performance. This is a woman that has hits for days (every single soul remembers and would love to sing along to), that can make a playlist hours of non stop bops, without repeating a song twice and she doesn't even need to sing the whole songs. And then there's the features with several artists that I know for a fact would honor her invitation. Don't underestimate her now? The Superbowl performance is for like maybe 15 minutes maximum, and Mariah has more than enough hits both past and present to cover that. Think of it for a second, all her massive hits and then suddenly, she announces "I just gotta bring Christmas back one more time". Haha. And then AIWFCIY closes with an absolutely explosive fest of cheer and confetti.
