It Only Hurts When It's Love (89,956) by Brad from USA So interesting to have her reference this song in response to perhaps a fan having Big Nasty's album in the audience? Reading the liner notes to his album, one sees that he refers to her as Snapdragon. They have a pretty remarkable friendship it would appear. I think it's because it's so subtle, there aren't many ups and down in the song. Definitely a grower. Which may be one of the reasons it took many months to peak on the certain charts it went top 10 here in the States. I really feel it's a classy song. The subtlety is part of its appeal. I was going through some crap and when you're sitting 15 rows back dead center, you think she's singing to you, about you. In any event, that song lifted my spirits not to let outside influences determine my worth. LTW should have been released instead of Never Too Far back then. Oh well, it's all in the past now. Justice for Glitter has been served. Her voice sounded better during the CB tour than the Rainbow tour. TAOM tour Mariah lipped often and had a back track playing but she was so fun and engaging. Although I love CB, I agree the album definitely didn't showcase the great vocals she was still able to give. I also agree about Glitter. My first time seeing Mariah was not all I had imagined it to be. But I did spend most of it beaming and the entirety of Hero crying. A dream come true to be in the same room as that woman. So I believed Lead The Way was written for Butterfly, recorded for Rainbow and used on Glitter. N'est-ce pas? In any event, what is the consensus? Is there a cut and paste job on the last note? There is one point at which I can hear the possibility. William, your opinion would be welcomed. It really does matter to me. I think the song is somewhat supreme amongst Mariah Carey songs. At the Christmas show in Brussels last December she was on fire. She has gained a lot of confidence when it comes to her stage presence over the last years. (Wednesday 12 June 2019; 19:31)

I have said it before and I will say it again, Glitter is Mariah's last powerhouse vocal album period. I do agree LTW should have been single but they went with Never Too Far Away which is another superior powerhouse vocal track. During the Rainbow tour Mariah's voice was in great shape. During the Charmbracelet tour her voice was in epic shape even though the album vocals do not reflect that. Imagine if she sang LTW during the Charbracelet tour. I can't even deal.
