It's probably Mariah's choice. I can't see their schedules not matching up in 35 years at least once if there was a real desire to do so. I just remembered he wrote and produced Cool for Gwen Stefani in 2004. What a hit. Interesting the movie Mariah's 2nd husband Nick Cannon played in "Drumline" was based off Dallas Austin life story.

Could just be Mariah doesn't like his work or him. I'm sure if she had wanted too she would have. Or it could be that they both had other commitments.

HFIA is a cohesive, emotionally expressive piece of art. To everyone worried about the numbers, and thinking Mariah should be with a major label, I don't think these things matter anymore. The album sold well, Mariah sounds great, in every interview she seems genuinely engaged and has that sparkle back in her eyes.
It's early days, but Gamma appears to be the right label [for] Mariah. I'd take a company that prioritizes my mental wellbeing over profits any day.

I agree with this. It really is pathetic. Mariah is objectively a legacy artist, but she still benefits from the kind of exposure usually reserved for brand new acts. She's on the biggest award shows, getting crazy levels of visibility. She's booked for major festivals, top podcasts, radio shows, and late night appearances, everything.
She put in three solid months of organic promotion. Real, thorough, hard work, the kind you can't fake. That alone deserves better numbers. It makes me wonder if there's any leg to Bobby A's claim.
Let's be honest: Mariah has been flopping since MOAIA. She's had more than enough trial and error to know what doesn't work. I agree that HFIA doesn't have a groundbreaking single, but I think they did a lot of things right with the promo.
Maybe it's time to put my investigatory hat on.

I don't want to come off rude to the Lambily, however, these sales are pathetic and unfortunately lower than her first week sales of Caution. Mariah currently has 14.5 million followers on Instagram, 12.3 million subscribers on YouTube and 20.8 million followers on X and only managed to sell 39,000 physical copies of "Here For It All" plus the lousy streaming numbers that only made up the rest of 51,000 total album units. It's been almost 7 years since she's released a full album and then this disaster happens. I understand that people aren't going to like everything on any album that she releases, but it's all about support for your favorite artist and she's just not receiving that. I honestly wouldn't be surprised now if it was another 7+ years before we even get another album. This is why other countries like Brazil and Japan get more of Mariah than we do in the United States. The lambily needs to do better, please.

I would've loved a twelfth track produced and co-written by Atlanta's best Dallas Austin. I wonder why Mariah has never worked with him. He has a long history with LA Reid and is good friends with JD. Strange they never sent Mariah his way.

It's definitely a theory. Which I asked for. But not one hundred percent convinced that's it. Although, what else could it be? She did work with Babyface on When You Believe in 1998, that was four years after Bedtime Stories. (But she also had a little bit of history with him so maybe that's why.) I couldn't picture Dallas Austin on Butterfly but he would've fit in perfectly on Rainbow because Mariah was still straddling the lines of pop/r&b and it was also when Dallas was giving the girls like TLC their biggest hits. The last time I heard of anything of note from Austin was in 2003, right before TEOM, when he produced Janet's massive comeback single but unfortunately the Superbowl incident cut it short. Actually that retro r&b pop sound Dallas is good at might've worked on HFIA while she was down in Atlanta.

Believe me I think MC and Dallas could have given the R&B world another Don't Take It Personal by Monica. However, MC and Madonna began exchanging disparinging remarks towards each other in late 1995. Dallas Austin's greatest chance to work with MC was 1996-1999. MC probably didn't consider Dallas Austin for Butterfly or Rainbow because she didn't want to feed the media more reasons to pit the two up against each other in some competition or comparison. Dallas Austin, Babyface, Dave Hall, and Nellee Hopper kind of helped Madonna reinvent herself with Bedtime Stories and regain her fans back. What club hopping gay man didn't love her song Secret.

It's been a hot minute since I've posted here. I have so much to say about Here For It All, but I will make separate posts for my review, etc. I would love to see her do an Angel's Advocates inspired concept for the deluxe. Bring in other artists to reimagine these true gems on this amazing project. Here's what it could look like:
Mi - ft. Ariana Grande As we've seen from their last collaboration, they have much common space and relatability between them. I think this could sonically take the song to another planet. I picture the two of them cruising down the coast in a convertible blasting E=MC2 on the way back to the studio between sessions.
Play This Song- ft. Faith Evans, Eric Benet, and Anderson.Paak I absolutely love this song as it is, as I do the entire album. But since this song is very specifically about the 2 characters, the only way to keep it on theme is to add the perspective of another couple in a similar emotional dilemma. I would love to hear these voices together. Faith sings from the same emotional tone that this song is set at. Eric Benet would compliment Mariah so well here. 2 new verses and 4 way harmonies.
Type Dangerous - Dealers choice We have a whole maxi single of collabs for this one already. And I enjoy them all. Maybe Touch The Soul of the People Remix?
Sugar Sweet - ft. Janet Jackson There was always a question of what type of song would suit the sound of these 2? This is that song. There is space sonically for both of their current sounds in this song. It could potentially be the summer song of the decade if done right.
In Your Feelings - ft. Toni Braxton Another long awaited duet. This song fits them both so well. Between the lyrical whimsy, the attitude, and the classic aspects it could take this song to astronomical levels honestly.
Nothing Is Impossible - ft. Barbra Streisand This just makes sense. Barbra would take this already chilling song and bring in even more timeless flow and expansion into it. I could hear it. Diana Ross was another idea for this one.
Confetti & Champagne - ft. Brandy Sonically, this would just make so much sense. And for those who don't quite get this song, I feel like Brandy would add something to bring it all the way home. This could be a whole 5 minute vibe, especially if Solange was also somehow involved.
I Won't Allow It- ft. Durand Bernarr As amazing as this song already is, adding Durand would again bring it to a whole new plane and would definitely entice Mariah to lay some fresh vocals on top. Tangents upon tangents. The back and forth alone would be just beyond.
My Love - ft. Maxwell Another long awaited duet. The 70s vibe is a great fit for both of them vocally. I could see her doing a version of this with Lenny Kravitz. Wait. We also need a whole album of just Lenny and Mariah.
Jesus I Do - ft. The Clark Sisters extended with Kirk Franklin Just give us the 9 minute version. Go all the way in. This song is so explosive, it could have 3 parts. I want another verse from Mariah and more of the sisters as well, maybe a couple solos.
Here For It All - ft. MaryAnn, Trey, and Teka Ok this song is a masterpiece. I would leave the first part as is. I would add 3 minutes to the end of the song. MY favorite part of the song is the second half. I would give each of the features their own solo and have Mariah come in between solos to blend and bridge. There is so much emotion to tell here and I think it's the perfect showcase for their vocals. I would love to hear the 4 of them jamming and riffing and vibing together for a drawn out outro until it fades.

I'm not really sure what you mean. She collaborated with Timbaland in 2009 and again in 2018, after he produced a whole Madonna album in 2008. Also Babyface was part of Madonna's [Bedtime Stories] and Mariah's worked with him after that. Dallas Austin is the only big Atlanta hitmaker, who is in the [Songwriters Hall of Fame], that came up at the same time as her that she hasn't worked with. Curios.

It isn't the fans' fault. Gamma waited too long after the "Type Dangerous" launch to release the album. TD performed well at R&B radio and probably could have peaked higher than #95 on the Hot 100 if they had pushed it harder and not pivoted to "Sugar Sweet". The album really should have come out in July or August when Mariah did not have so many shows scheduled.
The 9/26/25 date was too close to Mariah's international tour dates in Indonesia, Singapore, etc. and was too close to the Christmas season. This is what happened with the "Caution" rollout. They released the album too late in the year, and it faded from memory pretty quickly.

How can I get a message to Mariah? (111,756)

I think I know what you mean, but the "fun" can fastly return to a nightmare again. It's better to be alone than with a cheater. But of course it's Mariah's private life. But I still think her taste of men/partners are often a bad choice. I don't believe this "bad b." thing at all. She's lonely just like Marilyn Monroe was most of her life. A player will only comfort for a while. Mariah deserves better.

How can I get a message to Mariah? (111,738)
by Edward from USA
| |
|

Mariah's probably been with as many men as she has fingers and toes combined, but some folks still insist on treating her like a 14-year old damsel in distress who needs rescuing. Meanwhile, she's a grown, mega-successful, rich, and ridiculously intelligent woman raising teenagers and living her best life. No one trying to "save" little Miss Carey from some evil men could ever walk a mile in her heels, let alone survive her schedule.
Would it be nice if she found a great man to share life with? Sure. But let's not act like she's lost without one. The woman knows exactly what she's doing. When she says, "I'm a bad bitch, but I'm good company," I believe her. The love of her life, whose name we shouldn't mention, has said a thousand times that Mariah is always in control.
At this point, she's earned the right to enjoy some great, no-strings attached, uncomplicated fun between the sheets with whomever she pleases to share her Carey with. She's Mariah effing Carey, she's paid her dues and her taxes.

So Mariah, and nobody else for that matter, is not going to sell 10 million copies of an album in 2025. With these "pathetic" numbers she charted at number 7 on the Billboard 200. The album was also not proceeded by any sort of hit single (let's be real here), so to my mind it's done pretty well. I don't see any other legacy artists from her prime time doing similar numbers or, indeed, still putting out new music. Remember Janet Jackson? Whatever happened to her? 10 years since her last album.

How can I get a message to Mariah? (111,749)

I think MC is not going allow another man to play her again. It is sad though that so many men have broken her heart. Fathers are the best teachers for showing daughters how to be treated and loved by a man. MC missed out on those formative years with Alfred Roy for sure. I want to see MC happy again.

How can I get a message to Mariah? (111,742)
by Mimi from UK

Same. I almost cried feeling sorry for Mariah. I wish I could message Kristoffer Buckle or someone close to her who could give her a heads up. It shouldn't be this hard to get in touch with her people. Anyway, I hope she finds out soon before wasting anymore time with him. I believe he's mostly using her clout and everything that comes with being with someone like Mariah.
Poor Mariah. It's not easy to find love for someone who's as famous and successful like her, especially being a woman. A lot men are insecure about being with women who are more successful, so the men become jealous and resentful even though they're usually the ones approaching these women who are already successful. The same way Nick had a crush on Mariah, but started getting insecure, jealous and resentful of Mariah.

Dallas Austin (111,748)

I would've loved a twelfth track produced and co-written by Atlanta's best Dallas Austin. I wonder why Mariah has never worked with him. He has a long history with LA Reid and is good friends with JD. Strange they never sent Mariah his way.

HFIA classic sounds without the producer tags (111,747)

I love how there are absolutely no producer tags at the start of any of the songs. Maybe that's the benefit on not being on a major label forcing you to advertise for producers. It makes the songs sound more timeless. Einstein has that dated producer tag sound.

How can I get a message to Mariah? (111,746)

She's gaining his musicality through this relationship. Together they made some good songs and they're having fun. I doubt it's that deep. I actually think the same thing she wanted from Eminem before Glitter but he became a bit too obsessed for her.

How can I get a message to Mariah? (111,741)

I'm shocked that someone of Mariah's stature doesn't have a PI. I found out this information about him quite easily and you're telling me Mariah herself or couldn't run a quick Google search about him or something? Lol.
It's shocking honestly. What's the point of leaving boys like Nick and her other previous men just to get with another boy who cheated on his wife throughout the marriage and has according to sidechicks who are with Anderson been cheating on Mariah since the beginning.

True. I guess I was just emotional after listening to HFIA and feeling empathy for Mariah about what she has shared with us about the hard times in her life that I just wanted to save her from a potential heartbreak. I will just pray for her as I tend to do. Mariah is no fool and she will know what to do.

Seriously, right? Mariah is 56 years old. She's lived long enough to make mistakes, get things right, and everything in between. I don't worry about her choices. She's a grown woman. At the end of the day, I wish her the best. But I ain't losing sleep over what happens.

Ewww, he's not cute. Lol. I started to warm up to him a bit after seeing him looking so smitten with Mariah when they performed PTS on Jimmy Fallon, but that quickly faded as I learned more about him. I will just pray for Mariah as I usually do and hope everything works out for her.

Mariah knows what she is doing. This isn't her first rodeo. If its beneficial for them both why not, I would too. I mean he's lowkey cute. And they seem to work well together. And he's also a performer so that's good for her imo. Go get it mama.
