The Mariah-Billboard Music Awards relationship (89,213) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines It's all about the 9s. 20 years ago, Mariah delivered her most epic acceptance speech (and quite possibly the best acceptance speech ever) when she received the Artist of the Decade award in 1999. That same year, One Sweet Day was recognized as Song of the Decade, the same award We Belong together got 10 years later in 2009. Fast forward to today, Mariah is finally being honored for being the icon that she already has been since the 90s. This award was really meant for her to receive this year. It's full circle for her. She could have gotten it earlier but this truly feels like the best time for it. Congrats, Mariah. Finally. Congrats to Billboard as well for knowing how to properly end each decade with the best. Veteran artists (89,212) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City) I totally disagree with the writers assessment that tours should be a mix of an artists catalog. Personally this writer would be more interested in the Vegas residency as it focuses on the hits mainly. Personally I feel this tour was the true fan experience from the setlist standpoint and it was a home run in my opinion. I just feel like an artist should not be stifled creatively to appease critics or casual listeners. (Wednesday 17 April 2019; 02:38)

I wanted to say, like all of you, I'm super excited about Mariah's upcoming performance, especially since this will be her night, sort of speak, since she will be receiving the Icon Award. I try to take a step back and really think about what would make for a great performance. We all know she is probably going to perform a melody of hits. I believe Mariah needs to bring the energy to the stage like she did in the E=MC2 era. I think she should start off with the same intro and mix of IBLYLT/TBM then after her whistle ending, you hear "yo New York is in the house", and Steve should go into Fantasy, then, remix Anono, start of with Biggie's line, then she can go right into singing a no no, then to end, she definitely should end with ABMB. (It's one of her only 90s that's still in solid rotation. But she should end it with crowd participation in the song just like she did in Japan in 96. Leave on s solid note, everyone smiling and happy. 95% live signing and no gown or long dress, but jeans and a t-shirt.) (Tuesday 16 April 2019; 22:14)

The problem is most of Mariah’s fans are older so they probably purchased the album and felt it was a waste to redownload it. The album only counts as a sale if you download them or request a copy which tbh I didn’t do because I already purchased 3 copies plus the vinyl. Also copies of the disc come with all merchandise. Celine's doing it (89,203) by Nikki from usa MC wraps up her tour and now Lopez is having one. Celine just announced hers as well, but she's actually doing something so many of us wanted MC to do. Article: Why veteran artists should stick to three new songs (89,201) by John from USA I disagree with this article. This guy clearly doesn't get the sentiments of true Mariah fans. As someone who saw her Caution World Tour Concert, compared to her usual tours, I think it's actually quite refreshing to hear her sing songs she has not performed or rarely perform. This is true for both her newest album and her older/back catalogue. I looked around a bit during the concert here in Minneapolis. It was a good mix of younger and older people. Many knew even Mariah's newer songs from Caution, and even the older folk enjoyed the new music as well. I was surprised at how many people actually sang to the lyrics of 8th Grade. As much as Mariah's hitmaking days may be behind her, I think so long as she continues to make quality music that people can relate to, concertgoers will appreciate hearing them live. TJ you already know according to some lambs anybody who gets these awards before Mariah are less than, as beens, or needs these awards to be relevant again. The same doesn't apply to Mariah now that she's getting it. I thought you knew the rules. Lol. There's only been one person I didn't agree with getting an award of this type. It's not that she didn't deserve it, she just hasn't reached that music icon status in my eyes. Now had it been a movie award there would have been no complaints from me. Lol. Charmbracelet / SHM-CD (89,195) by Billy from Greece I just got the SHM-CD version of "Charmbracelet" and I have to admit that the mixing is superior to the standard CD. There is a clarity in the vocals and a balance between the vocals and the music that offer a much smoother and way more enjoyable experience compared to the original CD.
