Another Christmas album (89,411)
by Dove from United States
| |
|
|
Not sure if you guys were being sarcastic but I genuinely would love a third Christmas album while Mariah still has her voice. Her Christmas music is consistently popular with the general public. Even though she has two Christmas albums I feel like she could use one more. Sometimes I listen to only Mariah's Christmas songs and I feel like it goes too fast. I would prefer classic timeless Christmas songs that won't sound dated 30 years from now.

I didn't want to say anything and be negative but if she really is singing A No No and ABMB that sounds super boring. Taylor and Kelly are performing and they always put on great performances. This could have been great but I have a feeling it's going to be underwhelming. What a wasted opportunity.

Honestly I'd rather listen to and watch Mariah walk around the stage clowning around like the infamous NYE performance than hear JHud perform one of her songs. Nothing against JHud at all either. Just no comparison to me.

Power and nuance (89,407)
by Brad from USA

Hi all, looking forward to the BBMA Icon moment. I do not generally comment on the postings of others but having seen MC sing just 4 weeks ago, I can say that MC can still sing the heck out of a song, she's a great deal of power and nuance to her voice. Some of the textures of yore may not be there as strongly as in the past or at all but MC can still sing and I question those posting comments otherwise as to whether they have actually seen her sing in person of late. Thank you and enjoy the moment, be well and God bless.

Maybe Jennifer will just present Shezz, but it gets boring if no one else sings in tribute. We will just have to see how it plays out.

That was Mariah celebrating the twins with her staff on their day. Mariah and Nick threw them a party with friends and family a few days ago. Both M and Nick posted pictures of that party. It looks like Nick is filming something in Africa today, so he was not in town.

Isn't it weird that there was only one other kid at their birthday party? And the rest were all Mariah's entourage. I hope there were more kids there and they just weren't in the group picture. But it seems dembabies are growing up with just Mariah's staff around them.

JHud (89,403)
by Andrew from London UK

This is an unmitigated disaster, getting Jennifer Hudson to sing a Mariah Carey song better than Mariah Carey can right before Mariah Carey gets on and lips her own climax. How Mariah's people allowed this to happen is beyond me. So Dove in the USofA, I absolutely should be Mariah's manager because she constantly employs people who don't know their arse from their elbow. And singing "A No No" is ridiculous. It is not going anywhere on any chart. Caution is already dead. Why ruin a once in a career opportunity to shine peddling some shit nobody wants? it's a chance to remind people of your brilliance, not highlight that you don't sell anymore. Fingers crossed it's not the shitshow it seems destined to be.

That seating news might be a rumor. The pic shows Maluma's seat but not really Madonna's. Performer's list doesn't have J Hud. Excited to see how this all pans out.

I was wondering if Madonna will stand up when Mariah receives her award. Interesting that they're sat 2 seats apart.

Im a bit double minded of the J Hud performance. I don't want her to show MC up on her own song, right before MC comes. I was hoping she would just present and not sing because lets face it MC can't sing like that no more. Interestingly enough, the seating chart has MC seated 2 seats away from Maluma and Madonna.

Funny, you should mention those two songs. One Sweet Day had more push than the usual Mariah fare because Boyz II Men had just signed up to the label. It was also considered their first release, so there was a lot of extra promo for it. Meanwhile, My All was only a #1 for a week and had a lot of push from both MC and the label. Mariah promoted My All more than she did Honey. It is possible to get a hit without a lot of promotion. Mariah proved that with #Beautiful. However, it still requires that enough of the general public hear it to request it. Just leaving a song for a radio release with no management or push isn't going to keep it around long enough for many to hear it, much less request it.

There isn't any. Will Mariah's publicist please stand up? I have to say I'm not impressed with whomever is supposed to be MC's main publicist. How is she receiving an award with a tribute and have complete crickets chirping leading up to it? Mariah Carey is the only person not trending right now who's attending it. There's practically no news about her at all. Where's her hype people at?

So J Hud is performing in the MC tribute. I wonder what she will sing. I hope it sounds good and not just loud. Will it be WBT? Her voice is not well suited for any Mimi song, but maybe she could pull off Hero. If she tries hard and concentrates, J Hud may be able to slay Fly Like a Bird. I'm hoping for a good tribute and flawless performance from Mimi.

According to "MariahNow", A No No and Always Be My Baby. Sounds very believable, we'll have to wait and see.
