Wow (89,434) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
One of Mariah's toughest critics on this message board is singing her praises today. Wow it is really a good day when Andrew is happy with MC. But honestly speaking she really did herself and all of fans and supporters proud, she really showed up, and showed out and proved once again that she is truly still one of the greatest to ever do it. Once again Mariah Carey congratulations on your BBMA icon honor you have definitely earned it, and you deserve all the blessings and flowers coming your way.

Wow, that is really all I have to say is wow. Yes, the vocals were pitchy and overall just ok but that performance as a whole and wow that speech, whoa that speech was iconic. You can tell by the smiles on everyone's face in the audience that they really love them some Mariah Carey.

How nice, We Belong Together has re entered the hot 200 on US iTunes. The power of Mimi's speech. And very cute that CardiB was caught on camera singing it to Offset. And many have noted that Taylor poached off of Bey, but they both stole from the queen M with her iconic Up Out My Face marching band.

That BBMA speech gave me the chills. I have watched it over ten times so far yet every time it gets to me. Very, very proud of MC. Madonna was laying on the stage, Mariah owned it.

Mariah's speech was absolutely amazing. Has to be up there as one of the best she's ever done. I was moved by what she said because it was so true. Her music has been the soundtrack to my life and has got me through so much and has always been there for me. Mariah, thank you for everything. I love you so much.

Icon (89,429) by Mara from United States
So proud of Mariah right now. I cried and felt like she was talking directly to me. Yeah her voice cracked a little on the beginning of Emotions, but I feel it was totally forgivable and showed she is human and her vocals were live. We all know how nervous she gets at those shows. Her speech was one of the best I have ever heard. Right up there with her last artist of the decade speech. And how amazing was it seeing Monroe so proud of her beautiful mom on stage. Roc and his MJ aviators and the little thing he did with his mothers high whistles in Emotions. So memorable and a "moment" as MC would say. My friends were all texting me how good she did and her speech was everything and how the speech was for "me". Well, not really but the dedication she put in for her true fans/lambs since day one who have been there through all the ups and down throughout her career, sure made it feel like it was for me and each and every one of us who was on that ride with her and never turned our back. She looked beautiful too, her hair, makeup, dress. You could tell she worked hard to look good for that crowd she doesn't really associate with. Anyhow, beautiful moment for Miss Mariah, and the fans and of course her children. She literally is a walking legend and those are the people that should be acknowledged while they are here.

Mariah smashed it. She looked and sounded great. I sang, I smiled, I welled up, I laughed and then I tore up some more. All in ten minutes. Mariah Carey smashed it, y'all.

That's how an icon do (89,427) by Brad from USA
At the BBMAs Mariah showed her heart, her humor, her humility and her love. Her nerves and conditioning played a role in the execution of the medley but to anyone who accuses me of comforting myself with blind ignorance to that, I say to you "I don't know you". With actually living life and its often horrid turns, one learns perseverance and the miracle that is a continued ability to rise again and enable others to do the same, by the grace of God. And if you haven't experienced that yet, then buckle up because God shows it to us all, in different ways, and life is just about to begin for you. I am so grateful that today some of the world gets to relish in the essential Mariah that I have known since the first vision in 1990. And I thank her for showing us the grace and love last night that the world always should have shown her. Be well to yourself and to others in your life and thank you God for your miracles, mercies, graces and blessings.

First of all congratulations to the one and only Miss Mariah Carey. She should have [gotten] that award way earlier, but hey she's got a complete room full with awards.

The best thing was her speech. Watched it three times and I will watch it again today. She was really nervous. Her speech showed a humble and lovely Mariah. The one I love since I became a fan during Daydream.

Taylor Swift looked like a little fan girl, loved that too. Monroe was sweet by applauding her mum. I'm so happy that Mariah dedicated her life to music. And I truly believe every word she said came from her heart. I love that Mariah said, we helped her through the hell (we all know what it was). We fans/lambs can be so proud of her. Love you MC.

The last part of her speech that says, "To anyone who has ever told me that my music saved your life." Yes, I am one of those. Yes Mariah, your music saved me in anyway that I could be saved. So thank you so much. You have always been a part of my life and your music will always be my saving grace.

Mariah, thank you for all that you have given us, you have truly earned the right to [be] called an icon. I have to say even though she struggled in parts, she still managed to push through and bring it home. Her speech was warm, heartfelt, and honest, it was a moment for not just us as fans but to everyone who has to overcome or felt lost. Mariah truly shined and to see the younger audience embrace her the way that they did was amazing. This was a great moment and I am glad that I was able to have the experience. Also Monroe was truly proud of her mom, and Rocky was Mr. Cool. But overall I enjoyed the moment.

Article: Mariah Carey performs career-spanning set (89,422) by Lainsky from Philippines
Best speech ever. Heartfelt and truly honest. The medley performance is alive and perfectly fits and occasion IMHO. With all these, I hope all these propel the sales of Caution and will ANN to debut in the BB Hot 100. Just saying and hoping. The lambs all over the word are celebrating with you dear Mariah on fayaahhh.

Re: BB Awards (89,417) (89,421) by Shezz from Pk
She looked great. Speech was good. When I heard her struggle to sing my heart broke for her. You could see it was her nerves as usual getting the best of her like they do in these award shows. Same songs she has done much better in Vegas and the Caution tour so it was more of her confidence and nerves being an issue. Though she did manage to pull it off and closed it well. Social media and the crowd loved it.

Morning guys. It's been a while since I messaged on here but always checking in and seeing how the lambs are feeling in the moment. I saw the whole introduction from JHud and Mariah performance as well as her acceptance speech, all of which brought tears to my eyes. A truly deserved award to an absolute legend and I felt like such a proud lamb as I hope you all did too. May God bless her in all her future projects as she has contributed so much to music that is today. Keep supporting her lambs and lets unite to salute the legend that is Ms Mariah Carey.

Yes yas yessss Mariah. What an amazing performance and more importantly, speech Mariah gave at the Billboard Awards. That's why she's a legend. Great song selection. Gorgeously classic Mariah ensemble. Hair was full diva. And the message of her speech was perfect and charmingly executed. Mama killed it.

Re: What song is being performed at Awards Show? (89,402) (89,418) by Stacey from USA
A No No
Always Be My Baby
Emotions
We Belong Together
Hero

Pretty decent performance given everything. The major hiccup to me was Emotions. I got to give her credit for trying on that one. But she should have taken her own advice and said "a no no" on that song. She played it safe, singing songs in her middle range. I'd say her acceptance speech was good, particularly the last couple of minutes. And did you see Taylor Swift? Yup, she's a lamb.

Mimi gave a great speech. She struggled singing, but she did ok. Roc and Roe were very cute showing love to their mommy. The show overall was a bore. Taylor really tried it.

2019 Billboard Music Awards (89,416) by Dove from United States
Okay, never mind, I take back what I said before. It actually was entertaining. I started tearing up during Hero then again during her speech. I loved her ensemble and she looked beautiful and fresh. I loved seeing her babies watching her. Also, I enjoyed the dancers, piano player, and background singers. They always look so happy and upbeat - I love watching them. I was reminded of everything MC has accomplished and our journey together and I felt so proud of her.

BBMA (89,415) by Jono from USA
So proud of our girl. She sang about 98% live; the only lipped part was the usual run from Always Be My Baby. She started nervous but also A No No is a tricky song to sing. Now as for that speech - yes. queen. It's been so long since Mariah has accepted an award and I almost forgot how gracious and humble she's always come across when receiving her flowers. Social media lit up talking about her performance and her speech; no she may never reach those commercial heights again, but damn does it feel good to have her back in good graces.

That speech was everything (89,414) by enwar00 from usa
I thought that speech was both hysterical and moving. The dabbing and then throwing of the tissue and seeing JHud's reaction was priceless. I cracked up when she said this award is so gorgeous ok bye. Then rest of it and when she got into the meat of the speech, it just seemed heartfelt, humble, inspiring and moving to me. I love you Mariah.

I just cried (89,413) by Tevin from USA
Mariah song 100% live, gave a solid performance. Taylor Swift was fan girling her. The crowd loved her. That acceptance speech I literally cried when she said, that us, her fans, saved her life. Thank you miss Mariah Carey. Even though we already knew it, you've just confirmed your legacy your humility and your heart to millions of people and to the GP. I can now move on from the last 4 crazy years in her career. Time for a fresh start. Much love to all of you.

BBM (89,412) by Licia from USA
First off congrats to her. I loved the speech. She was funny and relatable. I love when just regular Mariah shows up. As for the performance, it wasn't great but I'm happy she actually tried and sang. She could have taken the easy route, but she didn't and I'm appreciative of that. Despite the not so great performance no one can take away everything she's accomplished or brought to music. She'll always be legendary.
