Dear Webmaster: Thanks for the info. If The Roof was a single, then: #Justice4TheRoof, hahaha.

If I Should Ever Be Lonely is my favorite remix of hers tied with Make it Last Forever, and I agree it should be a stand alone song.

I've been playing that a lot lately, as well. The original version by Val Young is also classic. I would say "8th Grade" is constantly on rotation on my mind, while I jam to "In the Mix" daily.

Re: Question please help (93,015) (93,020) by Bill from the UK
Yes, it was Crybaby. Sony didn't want to go with another ballad after Thank God I Found You and Against All Odds. They relented somewhat and released a double-a side single, but then (according to Mariah) didn't promote it. It's odd because CTTA was much more in the vein of Classic Mariah than Crybaby, so you would have thought it would have been the other way round.

Very nice. The justice for Slipping Away hashtag. I hope this means it will appear on the 25th anniversary edition of the Daydream album, along with one of the European tour dates on DVD. Europe was always way better than the Tokyo dates in my opinion.

Song right now (93,018) by Will from Australia
What Mariah song is everyone addicted to at the moment? I can't get enough of "If You Should Ever Be Lonely" in the Heartbreaker remix, I'd love her to release that as a stand-alone song

Re: Non-single favourites (92,989) (93,017) by Will from Australia
I checked my most played songs on Spotify for last year and Lookin In was the non-single there so I guess it's that.

Re: Question please help (93,012) (93,016) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
The record company wanted X Girlfriend as the summer single for 2000. They wanted an uptempo song and that song's beat and music was the trend of that time. With combined budget of Can't Take That Away and Crybaby video, I guarantee that X Girlfriend would have a great video, maybe Bianca would make her second appearance as well. Sony would definitely promote the song and it would become her 16 number one.

Re: Question please help (93,012) (93,015) by The Real Deal from USA
It was "Crybaby". They ended up making it a double A side single, but when it charted, only "Crybaby" was listed as the title (with the exception of the Dance Club Song Play Chart, where remixes of CTTA were released).

Re: Question please help (93,012) (93,014) by The Real Deal from USA
I think it was "How Much" or "X Girlfriend".

I can't remember if I've asked this before. Mariah wanted to release Can't Take That Away, but the record company did not and they fought. What song did they want to release instead?

Mariah just posted this clip of her and her background singers singing Slipping Away. It was a nice little vocal moment.

"So I wondered, if you were being honest - and I mean absolutely honest and not just trying to associate yourself with a track because you think it makes you seem cool or saying two or three tracks because you're such a lamb and "ohhh you just cant decide" - to what non-single track do you *actually* honestly listen and go to the most?"

I can not stop laughing. Well done to Bill and Dove for actually naming the *one* non-single track they listen to the most in real life. To people writing lists: I literally asked what was the *one* non-single you listen to the most - the honest answer.

I tell people my favourite Mariah Carey song is Hero. It probably is as it always meant a lot to me and I sing it in karaoke (Mariah Carey-oke) if there's vodka involved. But I don't listen to it much anymore - if at all - even if I say it's my favourite. The song I listen to most is actually Always Be My Baby. But it's not what I would tell people is my favourite. And not what I would tell people is her best song. Fantasy is a better song than ABMB, for example.

And so with non-singles. If I was going to play just one non-single to a non-fan I would probably play Lead The Way. I think it's amazing; it's a masterpiece Yet it occurred to me I don't listen to it much. But I tell Alexa to play Languishing *all* the time. I love the melody and vocal. And so there's the point of what I thought would be an interesting survey. To ask people the one song they *actually* listen to the most that is - perhaps - not what they'd put in a random meaningless list of songs that popped into their head for that they think signals something about their deep souls.

I was also thinking about singles that I absolutely do not like listening to. Songs that I would tell people are amazing but honestly never actually listen to.

I haven't listened to We Belong Together in 10 years. I actually cannot stand listening to it anymore. Maybe because, out of a catalogue of hundreds of songs, that song, like My All, is constantly shoved down our throats (or into our ear holes). But if someone asked me I would run over liberally about what a perfect ballad it is. It's almost the same with My All, but despite not listening to the single version in about 15 years, the remixes are too juicy to never play.

"Don't leave, don't don't leave..."

Bet that's stuck in your head all day now.

List of non-single favorites (93,007) by enwar00 from usa
Create a playlist and drink until you're an alcoholic like Mimi.
MC: Alone in Love, Sent From Up Above, Prisoner
Emotions: To Be Around You
Music Box: Music Box
Daydream: Long Ago, Melt Away
Butterfly: Fourth of July
Rainbow: Bliss, How Much, Vulnerability (I hate the recording of this album, dunno what kind of bootleg studio was in Capri)
Glitter: Lead the Way, All My Life
I'd rather listen to Miss You or even There Goes My Heart than anything on Charmbracelet.
Mimi: Circles, Your Girl
E=MC2: Side Effects, Love Story (this album is a fave, really does feel like it's full of singles)
Memoirs: Candy Bling, Standing O (love how the bass bumps in the car), More Than Just Friends
MIAMTEC: Faded, Dedicated. Another fave, and I agree with those who've said removing some tracks (be gone Supernatural, One More Try, Heavenly) woulda made it 100 (not the song, gross). And I woulda rather had The Art of Letting Go close it instead of Camouflage.
Caution: Caution, One Mo' Gen, Stay Long Love You (which I hated at first)

I hate that it's not a song she wrote but: Heavenly (No Ways Tired/Can't Give Up Now).

Not judging (93,003) by Dove from United States
I was not judging and I hope she is better now. We all go through stuff. I even admitted I gained a bunch of weight after my divorce from overindulging in fried food and sugar. That seemed like a safer way to soothe myself but was also an unhealthy way to cope. No matter what I'm on her side and nothing is going to make me stop supporting her. I just want her to be healthy because even though I don't know her I care about her.

Re: Non-single favourites (92,989) (93,002) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Fourth Of July. It's a masterclass in vocal layering, harmonization and painting a pretty picture with words. It's the one of the most saccharine of her entire discography, but to me has the prettiest melodies and ad-libs from beginning to end - almost too pretty for its own good. Some dismiss it as one of the unremarkable tracks on Butterfly or a lesser version of Underneath The Stars, but I personally adore it.

From my most played list, It's A Wrap is consistently second, followed by Make It Look Good, then Subtle Invitation and (since UTS had a limited single release) rounding up my top 5 is Melt Away (which is sometimes replaced by Circles depending on my mood).
