That's it. Are you like some music journo? Because if you're not, I think you should consider it. Granted, I think some of your opinions are total bollocks but there's nothing more appealing than someone who articulates with succinction and erudition (yeah, I did that on purpose).

Last summer Dreamlover was played on the radio randomly and I. Freaked. Out. I said a few posts ago that all you ever hear in the UK is maybe one Mariah song a week, and it'll be either Hero, Without You, I'll Be There or Endless Love. Unless of course it's Christmas time. But when I heard Dreamlover I couldn't believe it. I was really hoping the DJ would pass a comment on the song, but it was just sandwiched between two other songs so she never got a call out.

I think Bill was being sarcastic, but then perhaps you're being sarcastic and using this as a reason to mention Bruno Mars for the umpteenth time.

What a feeling (93,240)
by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
| |
|
|
Living in Norway, where Mariah has never been big (her only number one is AIWFCIY), it's such a treat when you hear her songs being played. Yes, she is regularly played at easy listening radio stations, there you can hear "I'll be there", "When You Believe", "Hero" and "Love Takes Time".
But when I walked through the streets of my home town yesterday, "Always Be My Baby" was played in this coffee shop with speakers in the streets. It is my favourite Mariah song, and it made me so happy.
Has anybody else have stories where you have heard a Mariah song at a random place?

Say So (93,239)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
| |
|
|
So we've seen Mariah collab with Nicki, many of us wished she did work with Cardi, but I kinda hope Mariah chooses to work with someone like Doja Cat instead. She can actually carry a tune unlike Nicki, and has a better flow and is more animated than Cardi. Plus, Say So is blowing up right now (granted, that's mostly thanks to Tik Tok) and is even already a top 10 hit in the UK.
I know this song has been posted about on this board recently, and for good reason. It really is just a good disco groove with the right touch of psychedelia and 70s city pop. The vocal layering and harmonies are just perfect. And it has that rare rap verse that feels like it belongs on the song rather than hijacking it. It's like the 2020s version of Lovefool. And this is coming from the same woman who released a song about cows. Brilliant. Best recent execution of the building disco revival trend so far.

Excuse me? I've written countless messages saying Mariah should work with Bruno and The Smeezington's. She worked with The Smeezington's and a lot of the producers I wanted her to work with on Caution so now she needs to collaborate with Bruno.

I can't believe the video won best video at the World Music Awards. That is, well, random.
Almost Home is a great song. That and The Art of Letting Go suggested to me that MC would go in a brighter, pop-ier direction. It's been mostly gloomy ever since. I hope Mariah comes back with a brighter, faster, pop-ier banger of a track for June. Then a second fast beat, party song for August followed by a ballad in October leaving enough time to get ready for Christmas. It would be good to see Mariah one final time. An image overhaul would help. #sackthestylist

Mariah Carey: Casta Diva (93,230) by MC1989 from S (93,235)
by MKO from France

Hi, this is my first time posting a message. I just read that book about Mariah. The author makes a lot of comparisons between Mariah and different divas throughout history of divas ans myths. I don't always agree with him but it looks that he [did] a lot of research about Mariah. The book talks a lot about MC as the songwriter, the diva and the insecure woman because of her childhood.

Wouldn't it be cool if MC collaborated with The Monsters and The Strangerz this year. I have never heard anyone mentioned them before. They are a hit making duo.

That's the most 1990's music video of all time. All it needs is shirtless old man in black and white for no reason.

She's exaggerated that whole covered up from head to toe talk to death for years now. She promoted that same song in baby doll tees and tiny skirts. But maybe Tommy didn't know.
