Re: AYNAF (Soul Convention Remix) video (94,878) (94,882) by enwar00 from usa
Stop. I just went on here to post the link and of course you already beat me. What is this even? How does this exist? I didn't even know it existed and I can't believe it's a thing. I still haven't watched it because I'm in the middle of something somewhere but can't wait to get home and watch it. Yay I love MC30.

Hundreds, but my throwaway Kodak didn't really do it justice lol. They are in storage though unfortunately. I still have the programme and the black t shirt that I wore for about a year afterwards lol.

That's what's up. I have a defeatist attitude a lot of times when it comes to any type of activism so I watch from afar or give $20 to the cause. You're a hero Andrew. Edward I'm now living in NYC maybe we can hang out.

AYNAF (Soul Convention Remix) video (94,878) by Bill from the UK
Wow, MC just uploaded a video for the Soul Convention Remix of AYNAF with new footage. I never even knew this existed until today. Is there hope for the Underneath the Stars video? Also will she release Can You Hear Me (had to get it in there). PS. I was at the London leg of the Daydream tour FYI.

Randy, you made me laugh. I'm not a fan of Hero either but hearing Andy sing it from the depths of his soul is when I like it the most.

Ok, here are my choices, which are a mixture covers/samples.
1. Beautiful Ones
2. My All/ Stay Awhile
3. Just Be Good To Me
4. Honey - Bad Boy Remix

I think I fit the mould of a party Lamb.

Lol. Us UK lot stick together. In all honesty though I think I'm suffering from baby brain as I don't know how I've gone against Andy? Please help a UK bird out.

Re: Bill (94,862) (94,873) by Bill from the UK
Haha thank you Jade. Alas, it dries up post-Rainbow as I stopped collecting after that point (had to draw a line somewhere, and her remixes were never as good as they were in the mid 90s so I wasn't too bothered not having every version). But yes if the specialist subject is MC remixes 1990-2000 then sign me up haha.

The Associate Managing Editor of The Sun has written back: "I understand your concerns and we have now amended the article."

There's a small win, eh? Will be interesting to see if this signals a change in future editorial policy at The Sun.

Re: MC30 (94,854) (94,870) by Bill from the UK
Yes I also had all the remixes as well Jamie. However, there were some vinyl exclusives that are now digital which is great. My vinyl versions were getting very crackly due to the records being so old (and well played), and my digital transfers still had the vinyl pops and clicks present. Whilst I do find the vinyl background noise endearing, it is great to have clean, spotless versions of the C&C Dub, All That & More Mix and Boriqua Tribe Mix, which was always one of my favourites (in terms of club versions, as nothing beats the Soul Convention Remix).

Re: Merry Christmas / Daydream remix EPs (94,868) (94,869) by Bill from the UK
How did I forget that (exclamation mark). I love those extra coos at the beginning. I'm not sure if that counts as a remix or just a remaster/another version from the mastering sessions. It wasn't designated as a remix on the compilation, much the same for the alternative God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman that appeared in the mid-00s (from memory). How Much on The Ballads is also different from the version on Rainbow but, again, not designated as a remix.

I'm not sure how I feel about these. I need to dwell on this for a moment lol. Thank you for appreciating my posts.

Hey Bill, not sure if it counts but there is an edit version of Looking In which is available on the compilation album Playlist. There is an extra humming at the beginning of the song. As a completionist myself I understnad these minute details are important to us. Always appreciate your posts.

Re: Allison (94,861) (94,867) by Jamie from UK
I don't buy it for one bit. If any of that was true then there's no way Mariah would still have a close relationship with her mother. If any of it was true I'd maybe put it down to their father. But unfortunately he's not around anymore and the story wouldn't make as much money as it would if it was Patricia who has had a more direct contact with MC over the years. And don't forget Alison went to live with Alfred after they split so would make more sense. But let's not forget that Alison takes mind altering drugs that can cause psychosis, it could be that Alison has come up with all this while out of it. Satanic rituals etc are a little far fetched and only somebody having such issues with drugs would probably come up with such a story.

There's no doubt Alison has her troubles but her early experiences contributing to this are most probably down to her own poor choices as a teen. We don't know the full story but I'd say she got into drugs at an early age due to her parents splitting up which then lead onto the rest of her life choices. And I'd say a lot of both Alison and Morgan's problems these days will ultimately be jealousy. It's happened with other stars, families can be solid but once money becomes involved it can cause huge rifts. Mariah will still be giving them money I'm sure of that, but people get greedy unfortunately.

Re: Allison (94,865) (94,866) by Anonymous from
I've considered that, wouldn't Mariah hate her Mum it that was true. As I said, I'm clueless when it comes to Patrica, and again I'm not saying what Allison is sharing is all entirely true. But, it still doesn't sit right with me. I've worked with many children in the past, and despite the suffering caused by a parent, they've still wanted a relationship with them. Even if Mariah hadn't suffered or witnessed the abuse that Allison claims, it doesn't mean that none of it ever happened. I know I'm generalising, just giving a different perspective. It will be interesting to see if Mariah discusses/challenges it. And I agree, over the years Mariah's siblings have proven to be toxic, aren't toxic people damaged?

Re: Allison (94,861) (94,865) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I understand what you mean. Alison always seemed like a person who has bad luck in every way. I always thought it was because of the drugs. But if something of the things she is telling is true, wouldn't Mariah hate her mother? I don't know. Pat doesn't look like a religious sect monster. But Mariah's siblings are a true nightmare whatever the reasons are.

I have to thank you Andrew for fighting this cause. I am a HIV positive man and have dealt with this kinda stigma for years and thus prevented me from being upfront and forthcoming with it publicly due to the negative portrayal within media etc. As crazy as 2020 has been with Covid-19, I couldn't help but wonder if the response to HIV would be different if it was as effective as Covid-19 has been with death and also it's majority demographic.

Your knowledge of Mariah is incredible, in particular her back catalogue. Should the day ever come where Mariah fan sites battle it out for the ultimate fan club title, you need to be part of the dream team, with of course Eric leading it.

Allison (94,861) by Anonymous from
This may not be of popular opinion but I can't help but feel for Allison, I don't believe everything she's saying is true but I can't completely disregard what she's saying either. She's clearly damaged and if she did in fact experience abuse as a child, it's understandable to a degree the direction in which her life took. Addiction and prostitution is enough to contend with let alone being abused as a child. I know people have to take responsibility to improve themselves and I'm aware that Mariah tried to help her and got burnt too. But, I still can't help but feel for her. Her methods in how she's pursuing justice is questionable, however I for one wouldn't want to walk in Allison's shoes, I can't even begin to imagine the abuse and danger she put herself through whilst prostituting. It's all very sad.

As for Mariah's Mum, I'm at a loss. I think Mariah's relationships with her parents have been fragile at different stages throughout her life, for what reasons I do not know. The lyrics to "Make It Happen" are poignant, she felt abandoned and alone, so very young and so afraid. I understand that she had dreams to make it but she also seemed quite desperate to get away. Surely the song isn't just about making it happen, overcoming adversity, believing in God etc. One of her greatest abilities is song writing, and from a young age she's been able to vocalise and describe pain so hard-hitting and very eloquently. I think when it comes to her pain, there's more to it then racism and the breakdown of her parents relationship. Mariah was very good at playing down the severity of her mental health issues in the early 2000's, only to share nearly two decades later that she has bipolar. I get that Mariah wanted to protect her career and improve her reputation at the time but again, I can't dispel the notion that there is some truth to Allison's admissions.

When I was younger, the former fan version of me would have instantly defended Patrica and felt sorry for Mariah, tearing strips off Allison, not this time. Something seems off.

On the flip side I'm quite an emphatic person but I could also be going soft in my old age.

Re: MC30 (94,855) (94,859) by Bill from the UK
I have every faith in Mariah that she'll deliver. Her original teaser post indicated live performances, remixes, and B sides. So far, we haven't seen a B side (I don't count Don't Play That Song), so here's hoping that Do You Think of Me, Slipping Away, this mystery Can You Hear Me I won't shut up about, and others find their way onto a B Sides EP.
