Re: Where I Belong should be a single (96,478) (96,479) by B from USA
Agreed. However, they should film a new video since Mariah is in better shape than when they filmed the first video.

Re: Where I Belong should be a single (96,471) (96,478) by Shezz from Pk
According to Mariahnow.br, this song actually samples I Know What You Want (the beat is quite audible) and was originally meant to be a remix of IKWYW. Sounds more like a part 2. I think the chances of it being a single are pretty good since it already has a video shot with MC in that red dress but who knows.

Andrew, your response reinforced and cemented everything I said in my message. I don't see a need to further engage with you after you perfectly proved my point. I hope that seeing that I received 37 "likes" for my initial message will provide you with an opportunity to reflect on how you treat other people.

Re: Where I Belong should be a single (96,472) (96,476) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Here in Germany will be no clubbing too. We have a new "lockdown light" on monday for at least one month. And definitily no Christmas market which is for me harder than if the clubs are closed. What a sad time. I think I'll play a lot of "Miss you most (at Christmas time)" this year. Stay save everyone. And to the American lambs/fans I wish "Happy Halloween"/nice holiday. I love the pumpkins and the Indian Summer which we have right now too here.

No, they are open with patrons having to social distance with masks on. I know that every club may not be open for business. Loosen up little bit about my post.

Wow. I did not see that one coming. What a nice surprise for me this song has been. I already love it and it does remind me of IKWYW, it’s like Part 2. I hope she follows this with another original album (after Christmas passes). We need club remixes for this new song ASAP.

This is song is going to be popping in the clubs and Christmas parties for the next 8 weeks. Just wait to DJs in Philly, L.A., Atlanta, Chicago, and New York, get their hands on Where I Belong.

Where I Belong should be a single (96,470) by T from USA
Get on your socials and tweet, Instagram etc Busta so he knows how popular a choice Where I Belong would be when he's thinking of a second and third single. He's got lots of talent on his album let's give MC some spotlight. Would be cool if it precursors to a great album like IKWYW did.

Re: This should be a single, Busta & MC (96,463) (96,469) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
The song's not so subtle nod to the sound of I Know What You Want is a nice production choice. Mariah's role here is less than that of what she did in IKWYW and more comparable to what she brought to U Make Me Wanna with Jadakiss.

Knowing how bad (faceless) hip-hop collabs have gotten this year in terms of quality, this song can stand out due to its deliberate throwback to the early 00's urban sound when singing rappers were all the rage. It can do well with great push.

This year's hip-pop is mostly dire. It kind of makes us realize how we sort of took for granted how good we had it back in 2000-2005.

Nice surprise. It sounds pretty good. Laid back RNB. That should be "charts friendly" worldwide.

Re: This should be a single, Busta & MC (96,463) (96,467) by Aliya from Canada
First listen, I was thinking: Where are Mariah's vocals? She barely does anything in the song. It sounds like a knock-off of "I Know What I Want".

Second listen: This song is a vibe. It grew on me. Although she doesn't sing much, what she does add complements the song perfectly. Her and Busta sound great together, again.

Re: This should be a single, Busta & MC (96,464) (96,465) by Chicago Lamb from USA
Busta's label has to get behind it, deliver to radio. They'd have to perform it live, ala SNL, etc. Perhaps a resurgence in Busta's popularity wouldn't hurt. We can only hope this becomes A modest hit. The Mary J. Blige feature is also a single contender but perhaps on a different format.

I was braced to not like it. But I actually like it a lot. Would this make No.1 is the States? Genuinely I'm asking. Does this have a chance?

The mother (96,461) by RibbonB from USA
Relationships with mothers are complicated for many of us and even more so, it seems for Mariah. Mimi has kept secrets and probably tried to accept, fix or leave things for many years. She has probably shown degrees of each of those stages over her career. I believe that she was very much at the trying to fix things stage with her mom during her marriage to Nick and surely having grandkids for her mom probably brought her joy and maybe fear and trepidation. I clearly recall her saying Nick reminded her of her mom. At the time she described as, nurturing, caring calming. That was a strange correlation even then and boy did that change. Her mom was pictured at a lot of her family moments during that phase, including the making of MC2Y. Clearly something snapped, changed and triggered [The art of letting go]. Because around 2013, was the last time Mimi was seen happy with her mom, celebrating her mom's birthday. Also it was nearing the end of her marriage. Maybe the mom sided with Nick on some crucial family issue, or Nick sided with the mom. Somethings clearly happened to trigger a huge shift in Mimi and the relationships around her. Most we will never know about. It's good that ultimately she and Nick decided to remain family and civil for their kids.

She doesn't have to share all the deep dark stuff with her health, mental state. The breakdown stuff with her siblings and mom was a lot and felt horrific enough to share in one book. So I can see her trying with her mom, but then deciding that her own self and wellbeing were more important than her relationship with her birth family.

O Canada (96,460) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Well, you asked for it sweetheart.

"I've been creeping this board for years..."

Yes, you've said that twice now. "Creep" would seem an apt word since you are yet another new poster using me to try to win friends and influence people.

"...to read genuinely insightful and kind-hearted comments from other fans..."

If you don't like my comments, why do you read them? Or is it that you love to hate me and are just using me to try to w... oh, just see above.

"...yet I've always found it confounding that most people seem to be fine with Andrew from the UK consistently putting people down for their opinions, statements and comments."

Funny, I very recently asked people what Loverboy version they preferred. I think Firecracker is superior to Candy but did not point out that anyone who thinks Candy the better song is a crazy loon who needs Mutton Dressed as Lamb to slip them some Prozac. Growth.

"I'm genuinely curious as to why this person is still allowed to use this board when nearly every single message he posts includes some sort of demeaning, hurtful or downright rude remark to another board member."

One out of three of your messages on this board are hurtful and rude toward me.

"Shouldn't we all be celebrated for having our own opinions and for sharing our love for our favourite artist?"

You want to be "celebrated" for having an opinion? Would you like the full fanfare or something a bit more subdued and Covid secure?

"Am I missing something?"

Yes. A personality.

Not so long ago, there was a photo of Mimi and Tanaka on one of her social media pages and she had her cell phone in her hand and if you look closely, you were able to see her screensaver. It was a photo of her and Tanaka embraced in a kiss.

Re: Arrogant and toxic (96,452) (96,456) by Chicago Lamb from USA
Andrew from UK does come off harsh sometimes, but we read him anyway. He's a talented writer and a lot of what he says about Mariah makes sense. Of course we come here to celebrate our Queen but the phenomena of picking her apart at the same time, is alluring for the very few all the same. It was Joan Crawford who replied to an interviewer when asked how she feels about negativity from the press by saying, "Imagine if they never wrote about me at all."

Aww, so sentimental. . don't care about Mark or Binaka, they both got or get paid well. But she could've just cropped Mark out of the picture if not going to name him. She's a savage, sassy, bougie, ratchet.
