All I Want For Christmas Is You #1 (104,648) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
The song is predicted to be #1 for Billboard Hot 100 dated 30th December 2023 for tracking between 15th December 2023 until 21st December 2023. This would make the song 14 weeks at #1. Let’s make the song one more week at #1 for chart dated 6th January 2024 for tracking between 22nd December 2023 until 28th December 2023. That week is crucial because that’s when people play Christmas music the most. So far the summary: 2019 - 2 weeks. 2020 - 2 weeks. 2021 - 2 weeks. 2022 - 5 weeks. 2023 - 3 weeks. Total: 14 weeks. Merry Christmas to all lambs.

I am concerned too, Andrew. My worst nightmare is that Mariah's whole catalogue will go down the drain because of this Christmas song, alone. But remember, we are all living in our own time, Mariah might be content with that song being her only legacy per now.

But, as with you, it devastates me that most people won't know her other songs.

I guess we as fans, just need to micro dose people with other stuff, like I have done the last 25 years. There is not a single soul I have met in my life that won't think of me whenever a Mariah song is played.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas, thank you for this community, going to listen to "One Child" now, love you.

Clarity clarification (104,644) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
I was hoping to have a convo about the albums we think MC has a crystal clear vocal album. Not sales. What albums could be sung without production or background? Emancipation is very well produced, the debut is extremely produced. Got me?

Surely Music Box, Daydream and the Emancipation of Mimi are the albums most loved by the public: not only have they sold the most, but they contain the songs that everyone knows her for.

I am glad Mariah has popular annual material to sell but Christmas feels ever increasingly like a novelty. All the benefits of having such material makes real the threat of being known only for being a novelty act and having the rest of a (quite formidable) catalogue fall by the wayside. It's unnerving for someone who is a long time, avid fan.

It's both uniquely great and concerning.

I heard that "Last Christmas" is number one in the UK. I always loved it. It's played a lot here in Germany. I grew up with this Christmas song. Anyway I wish you all Merry Christmas. I hope you have joyful and peaceful days.

Merry Christmas has gone from 5x Platinum to 9x Platinum in just four years. It has sold about 300K this Christmas season so far. Caution is not even close to reach gold status and Mariah Carey is stuck at 9x Platinum since the late 90's. I would say Merry Christmas is loved by most.

Do you think Merry Christmas is Mariah's most globally adored album, because of its clarity? I personally like MCII more than MCI, however I have been listening to MCI recently on vinyl, and I feel like the production on MCI allows Mariah's voice to be clear and admired and takes a beat to breath.

What other Mariah albums are as vocally forward as Merry Christmas? I would suggest Emotions, Emancipation, Caution. Those are the most vocally clear albums in my opinion. Thoughts?

I didn't say I liked JLo. Lol. I was just simply posting that she has a new album coming out next year like other artists. You may get a chance to use her new album booklet. It is going to be released February 16th in physical CD format in the UK. Honest Jon's Records or Sounds of the Universe will probably have plenty of copies.

Squeeze me? Baking powder? Did you just say you're looking forward to a new "album" from "J.Lo"? I wish hard copies were still a thing because I would buy one, use the booklet to wipe myself after skimming the disc across the water. She's not even an entertainer. She's duplicitous, and a liar. She is not what she is.

Also, she does the "blind-ahhh" like "treated me kind-ahhh" that you love so much Andrew. I miss the way she used to hang her head back whenever she ended a performance.

Happy holidays everybody and nice to see you posting again Mimi L. Stay.

#1's (104,629) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
While Mariah has nothing left to prove, as a selfish lamb I would love for her to shut the haters down again by bagging a few more #1's. I understand Mariah plays it fair with her songs where she won't necessarily jump on another song just to get a hit as she likes her #1s to be attributed solely to her but I think in this era of music industry big stars will do anything to get the #1- aka Taylor, Drake and so on. So I see nothing wrong in Mariah doing the most to get those #1s and overtake The Beatles even if it means using a hot feature, and by hot feature I mean a really hot feature like Ariana, Drake, Weeknd, Bruno Mars etc and not Shawni or Stef London. I would have been pumped if Nicki and Mariah patched up and did a new song. Also before she releases anything I hope she sits with her team and really plans out a steady and cohesive release plan. A lot of her past release plans seemed like afterthoughts with bad single choice, bad videos, videos being released too late, not enough exposure. She keeps saying she's doing a lot of projects but we never really see anything come out like TBL. She said recently she has around 10 songs for a new album, I hope it has some great features.

Article: Mariah makes a strong case for rocking winter whites (104,627) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I 100% agree the ball gowns age her. I think she looks great in short dresses or even jeans. She's got them billion dollar legs and should show them more often. Like this outfit she looks like she's 30, this is another winning dress. I also love when she wears fitted pants/mini skirts with like a jacket or blazer, like what a serve this look was. Mariah is aging like fine wine and should work with stylists who matches her playful personality instead of putting her in a gown and calling it a day. 2023 is definitely a new beauty peak for Mariah (with previous beauty peak eras in my opinion being 2016, 2012, 2008, 1997).

The last "I *just* can't escape this pain *so* deep inside because love takes ti-yi-yi-yi-ime" is the greatest vocal arrangement of this song. I wish it were on the actual record.
