Jade, I don't read all messages on here, so I did not choose to not read yours deliberately. My original message was in response to the large amount of posts directed at Mariah. Now, don't get me wrong, I would like if Mariah responded to recent atrocities, and actually helped to do something about them, but I don't believe she has to, nor do I think it's fair for people to expect her to. I mean, the POTUS has made repeated statements after mass shootings, race hate crimes etc, but all he has done is repeat the same rhetoric. He has not done a thing. Words are sometimes just words if they are words alone and not acted upon.

When is enough really enough? (64,164)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
I hate to say this, but it seems to be that either Mariah doesn't care or she's completely clueless about how she's perceived even by most of her remaining fans. She might be enjoying her diva act, but at the same time she's pushing away the few fans she has left. There was a time I was proud to say I was a fan, that was when her reputation was based mostly on her voice and not so much on her inflated boobs, when besides her music I also liked Mariah the person too. When she was sexy, a la Butterfly era, she was flawless, it didn't seem forced at all. She was eloquent and more focused on her music and more connected to her fans. When there was veil of mystery around her image, a veil that made her interesting and anticipated. Now I see this person I don't even recognize, a person who poses with a fake smile in most pics she's in. Mariah behaved more mature and centered when she was 20 than now that she's 46, something that doesn't make sense to me. Her lyrics were deeper. Daydream is an album a 46-year Mariah could put out without people thinking is immature for her age. It is as if everything in her life is happening backwards. I don't like to be associated with her publicly anymore. As a man, saying you're a fan nowadays put you in one of two boxes: either you're gay or there's something wrong with you. I just hope she realizes she needs to do something before she gets a rude awakening when her next album drops and she sees herself selling less that what it would take for her to keep a record deal. I'll always support her by buying her music, and going to concerts whenever possible, but that's about it. It's so weird how some fans want other fans to settle for less when the woman got us used to quality music for such a long time. Now the normal for a hardcore fan to be happy with is some mutation called "Infinity" and a terrible mess-remix in which she threw away an opportunity to capitalize on Justin Bieber new-found popularity. "Infinity", a song she dares to put along her 18 #1's hits. When a fan makes a better version of a song Mariah has created, there's something terribly wrong with her new formula. Just venting.

Stella's influence (64,163)
by Mara from United States
| |
|
|
It's amazing how much influence she has been having on MC. It's quite sad we never see anyone form MC's past or family of her own other than Shawn at one of her shows. Mariah has no problem with Stella's father Vlad around or her mother. It really does seem like Stella is working her way to get the general public to get to know her family in a reality show type of way. Between Miska and that blank stare of a smile in every picture to her dancing father on Twitter videos. They are all enjoying Mariah's stardom. I noticed Mariah is almost emulating Stella's style now too. From the similar hair style (at the 1 Oak party) to the outfits even to the very talon like nails. Mariah always had beautiful nails and now they are like Stella's, shaped long with a point. One question: Stella always mentions love and light at the end of a lot of her posts. Is Stella a Scientologist? There is never a mention of God anymore on Mariah's end and I'm wondering if she is influencing her on that end too.

Maybe Morgan was on to something (64,162)
by Natalia from Italy
| |
|
|
When the report came out about Mariah's brother Morgan, that said, she was on the verge of a breakdown, or even death, I was shocked and offended. Now that doesn't seem as far from the truth anymore. I wouldn't go as far as to say she is close to death, because I don't believe that, but, she does seem to be a little more closer to "the edge". Some have said that she has always been this way, but I respectfully disagree.

I thought I sent a separate response to you Jade, but that response was to Marissa, but it also applies to you. I appreciate what you both had to say on the subject. The whole thing is a lot, ypu know? We are going into tough times that may get tougher with this coming election, so we better brace ourselves. But I'm not looking to MC to direct the ship so to speak. Lol.

You forgot about Louise McNally who was with her since the Motolla days. How about the double digit list of ex managers too? Need I mention friends? Even her brother who launched her career lives in Italy and I haven't seen one picture of them together. For that matter, did she fire her mom or did she quit too?

Thanks Ribbon for responding to my post in a mature way. It is a sensitive subject and I do appreciate different perspectives. In regards to assumptions clearly I've read it wrong. But whether Mariah said something I agreed with or not, again I would still challenge it if warranted. I rarely post but when I do it's because I strongly believe in it. Mariah has made her choice for a reason, right now I just don't get it.

I usually scoff at conspiracy theories but I have to say, the way Mariah's team is taking her, it sure looks like they are trying to tear down her legendary status and smear her legacy. The cheap stunts, the cursing, the weird "leaked" privates photos (that looks so staged), the stunt with the MC-Brian Tanaka affair (it was believable at first but then they started pushing it down everyone's throat by having them grind all over the place), getting a reality show, something Mariah has always scoffed at. Calling it a docu-series won't change much, it is what it is. If it was aired on HBO, I'd think otherwise, but it's being aired on E Network and produced by the same people that is involved with the Kardashians, plus the wanna be Kardashians (Bulochnikovs). Mariah showing up half naked to places without a reason seemingly high as a kite. The snap chat videos (which should have been private) of her completely out of it, grinding over men. Someone said before that Mariah always drank and partied but the thing is it was always private. What made Mariah so interesting and mysterious was that we never really knew much about what went on once she got off stage. Her private life was pretty private. We didn't even know about the problem in her married life with Nick until they announced that they have been separated for months. But nowadays Mariah is overexposed, her private life is out there for everyone to see whether they want to or not. It's almost like she is challenging people to make fun of her. She is definitely not in good hands. Her PR was still better (Morgan's story being nipped at the bud) when Chris Chambers was involved, ever since they left, Stella has been her manager, PR, stylist, life coach and everything. All we got from her was ratchet behavior. People hate on RaeRae and call her a leech, but really RaeRae had no control over Mariah's career (except for that awful choreography) but at least she knew Mariah well. Where is she? Why is everyone who knew Mariah out of the picture? I don't believe Michael Richardson was bad either. Where did he go? Mariah is stranded alone in Bulochnikov land and company does influence you. Just saying, I don't trust this family.

I wasn't implying you were not doing anything about it and I get that you are venting. But we all can really only control what we can do. Focusing on Mariah and her comments or non comments is just an extra step or a diversion if you will. But hey vent away. As I said I wasn't trying to criticize you, just offering a vigorous debate, because I feel people have a right to use or not use their platform. I'm a black woman and my black life matters, but I'm sure not gonna go sitting on a darn freeway blocking traffic to make a statement, but I'm proud of the one's who are so passionate to take such a risk. I just personally don't have any judgement for how people handle this kind of trauma to society. But you are assuming Mariah has anything constructive to say. what if she said something and you didn't agree? Even politicians have no real solutions. It's a big issue that we all need to work on.

Well the team just prior to the Stella team quit, they said because they did not want to participate in this drama. Eddie Morales' original IG rant basically spelled things out, that they did not want to be involved in some elaborate stunt that is designed to make Mariah look bad and take her in a direction that they did not feel comfortable with, or want to participate in. Now Mariah and Stellar claim they fired them, but I believe they quit as they claim. Eddie even congratulated Flaky Tanaka for his new "job" and that was before he even had the creative director title. Hopefully Nick is throwing a wrench in things by trying to keep the kids off the show, or perhaps it's just from lack of real interest from the general public.

You're right, we all fell in love with Mariah due to her Maya Angelou meets JFK grasp of current affairs and political issues. My bad. I wish the Mariah of the 90s, who championed civil rights, and humanitarian causes would return. Who remembers that time Mariah stood up in London and protested against the war in Iraq, or the genecide in Kosovo. Oh, how I wish this Mariah would return.

Mariah is not a politician (64,151)
by Anonymous from
| |
|
|
I created a post a lot earlier and it's still not up yet so maybe there was a loss in connection or the webmaster hasn't authorised it yet. Anyway to cut the long story short you don't need to be a politician to voice an opinion. As I've said before, I don't expect Mariah to voice an opinion on every news issue but I am disappointed that she hasn't commented or acknowledged the issue, especially being half black herself. As long as I can remeber she has voiced numerous times how she's been treated, being bi racial, for having a black man as a farther. Mariah said she felt oppressed because she didn't feel like she could be herself. I think many of Mariah's fans related to that especially those that are bi-racial, that was certainly the case for me. Maybe because I connected with Mariah on that issue is the reason why I am so disappointed. For such a sensitive subject and from how Mariah has conducted herself in the past about race, I'm not gonna front, I feel hurt. What you say or anyone else for that matter still isn't going to change my opinion and that's that. Yeah social media from time to time doesn't have the right impact but then it again it has proven to have its uses too. Those videos of black men being murdered sent shockwaves to the world. If everyone had the mindset that it's not my responsibility or someone else's then change wouldn't happen. Again as I've said before I don't need Mariah to fight the battle, I'm capable of making my thoughts clear in a constructive way. I realise my expectations of Mariah needs to be lowered. Much people and thanks for sharing you views. I know that there are some people that share my views and many that doesn't. I'm ok with that.

But who said I wasn't doing my part though? You can't assume that I'm doing nothing just because I voiced my frustration about Mariah's deafening silence. I'm actually not pushing her to do anything because I know that unfortunately she listens to nothing that the fans think or say. I was simply venting. It's not that Mariah making a statement would ease anyone's frustration with the injustices happening. That's not the point. I believe that if you have any black heritage and an epidemic of negativity is happening to your people, you should use your platform for something constructive, not pretend that you don't see what's going on. Some might disagree with me. And I hold any other black or mixed celebrity to that same standard and am disappointed in anyone who fits that criteria who's been ignoring these situations, not just Mariah. I'm not going to let her off the hook because she doesn't look black (like I feel many people are subconsciously doing), especially because she has gone out of her way to associate with black people for a large chunk of her life, so clearly she identifies with us on some level. Trust me, the fact that to this day people still don't know what race Mariah is is really saving her from being dragged even more for her silence.

So yes I agree with you, Mariah should not be expected to get behind and support the oppressed, exploited, downtrodden, murdered etc. She should not be expected to take a stand and champion democracy, human rights, the environment or anything else. Sure, it would be nice if she actually stood for something more than the self gratifying, self adulating, look at me I'm so rich, fabulous, and sexy ethos that she pays to have smeared all over Daily Mail but that's just fantasy. Me, I'm okay with not expecting her to be anything more than what she is. The woman that made some incredible music throughout the 90s.

Mariah's World (64,146)
by Butterfly from
| |
|
|
Her dancer said it's coming in the winter. However this is not a confirmation whatsoever if Mariah's World is still happening. Just wanted to let you all know it's for sure postponed until the winter. Why? 1) What Truth said about someone being difficult and Mariah's World is not going to air. So saying winter is a way to buy time to figure it all out. 2) They're waiting for the wedding so they can include it in her reality show. Also wanted to add. Antony Burrell (black dancer always with Bryan and Mariah on tour) was fired or left on his own right before the last Vegas leg. He was her creative director but got replaced by Bryan Tanaka. He confirmed it on his IG the MC chapter is done. He didn't say why or anything bad about Mariah. Anthony with Bryan was a huge part of Mariah's World so maybe he doesn't want to be on it anymore. All strange but it's fishy how many members are fired/leaving. I'm counting: 1) Michael Richardson 2) Gaylin 3) Michael Kane 4) Wilfredo 5) Anthony 6) Chris Chambers 7) Connie

So you have to be a politician to voice concerns re the world and its troubles? If that was the case then the world wouldn't turn and there would be no change. If you read my initial post then you will see that it's a combination of things and not merely just commenting on world events.

Mariah Carey (64,144)
by TRAVON AUSTIN from United States
| |
|
|
Can we all just sit back and appreciate why Mariah Carey is Mimi. She went through hell while being a legend at the same time. She would have been a legend even if she retired at age 30. We can say many things about her such as drinking alcohol or being an alcoholic. That she dresses horrible for her age. That she is not making the right career decisions that we would like as fans. After losing Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Prince in horrible circumstances related to drugs or medicine, I am pleased that Mariah Carey remains a legend in her own right. She doesn't do drugs. She isn't part of the sex music industry where women are taking advantage of every day. She stays in her own circle with people she trusts and takes this pressure like a pro. She deals with the issues on hand, in her own way, and on her own time. With the money that she has I could imagine how easy it would be to turn the other way but she hasn't. With all the scrutiny that she has to deal with everyday and all the people including fans, that tell her what she needs to do and when she needs to do it, I am proud that she has not faltered. Do you guys realize how easy it would be with the scrutiny she goes through to have a breakdown. Believe it or not I feel that being in her own circle has allowed her to manifest time within her own legend status. I would rather Mariah Carey makes mistakes as a real person and be scrutinized rather than do drugs and have many sex with many different industry people. Everything that she is going through is things that real people deal with such as insecurities, trying to have the best image to the people that we are around, and trying to figure out what's the right thing to say and when to say it. She is also being scrutinized for her questionable behaviors around her children but we all know that she loves her children. Mariah Carey is a fighter and she reminds me of the phoenix. She is in her own circle but she doesn't care what people think. It works to her disadvantage if she's making bad mistakes but when everything is great it works for her extremely well. I wish that someday she will be appreciated for being a phoenix. At the end of the day someone who is worth over a half a billion dollars will always be despised by regular working people in those who feel that they are better than them. I never felt and I still don't, that Mariah Carey felt better than her fans or that she hates people. Every person that you see in interviews, that speaks about her, says how humble and gracious she is. I feel that despite her insecurities and her issues, she really does try to do the right thing for the right people. So we all should cherish that we have a real human being going through real human things and this human being so happens to be a legend and a superstar. She is dealing with these issues instead of ignoring them. I feel that she will eventually come around and ever since American Idol, I feel that she has been doing the best that she possibly can to get her image to the right place. We should appreciate her hard work and the effort that she has put it in her live performances. Also we should appreciate the legend that is Mariah Carey.

Mariah is not a politician (64,143)
by Mirage from Unicornatopia
| |
|

She should not be expected to make statements about mass murders or race relations in America. Sure, she could make a statement, or post something on Twitter, but does that mean she cares? People retweet and post things all the time, but what do they actually do to advance their causes? Nothing. Yes, Mariah could do a Beyonce, and champion a cause per album, like a noble humanitarian, but how noble is it if it is just to sell albums? Ask the workers in Beyonce's sweat shop how they feel about her humanitarian efforts? They would probably tell you she's cool, but they would prefer more than $0.44 cents an hour.
