Adele (89,243) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I believe that whether she split from her husband or not she was going to ride the wave of her winning formula because it has helped bring her success beyond her comprehension. Also, she is in a lane all by herself and she is winning. I am certain Columbia is not going to allow her to mess with her winning formula, she is going to ride this formula until she can not benefit from it anymore. The masses will definitely pay very close attention to the new album based off of curiosity alone to see if she will talk about the breakdown of her marriage.

Re: Mariah - queen of the intro (89,231) (89,242) by Stacey from USA
Oh my gosh, Till the End of Time to me has one of the most emotionally invoking bridges ever. Ever. That's one thing I've always loved about MC: her ability to tap into our emotions with her lyrics and then sing in a way that releases those emotions.

Oh my Can't Let Go's intro proves you don't need You're So Cold-type belts to produce such powerful emotions. I always hated the radio edit cut off that long intro. One of my favorite ballads. Top 5.

Re: When You Believe theory (89,239) (89,241) by Bill from the UK
Plus, and no offence, but the song really isn't all that. It really does make a difference when MC writes a song vs when she doesn't. It fits the film but as a standalone song for the charts, I'm afraid "that's a no no".

Lol some people like it, but I don't. She also dropped a little of Cameo's Candy into the same remix. Creative but not for me.

When You Believe theory (89,239) by Randy from USA
Since Hurricane Caution has blown over and has been downgraded to a cloud with rain floplets, I have a theory about When You Believe. I think that after the success of My Heart Will Go On from Titanic and it's ability to push two albums to 8 times platinum each, they thought that When You Believe with two divas could push the sales of three albums. But what I think is that Clive, Tommy and Jeffrey were a bit hasty in this pipe dream. Firstly, both artists were coming off albums that didn't match up to their previous blockbusters. The Preacher's Wife didn't sell as well as Waiting To Exhale or the Bodyguard. And as much as it pains me to say it, Butterfly didn't match the sales of Daydream or Music Box. So to me these women, while superstars, weren't necessarily gonna draw the same amount of buyers to the CD store as Celine who was coming off a hit album that won album of they year. Secondly, MC and Whitney were both in a vocal decline. The song, while lyrically amazing, doesn't soar as it would have had it been recorded in 95 or 96. And Whitney was a master of runs so she started running all over the place and lowering the keys to her songs when her voice started to fray. When MC's voice changed, she just looked like a deer in headlights on stage. Needless to say it wasn't a good time. So when the song came out and made it to number 15, it didn't help either album. Sure #1s sold about 4 million but it was on the strength of the actual compilation itself. My Love is Your Love went on to sell 4 or 5 million but it was on the strength of subsequent singles such as Heartbreak Hotel, the title track, and It's Not Right But It's OK, which won Houston a Grammy. Basically, I hate to say it but When You Believe was a relative flop. And it shouldn't have been a surprise. And it slowed the momentum of both MLIYL and #1s. Columbia should have led with I Still Believe or the Bryan McKnight diet. And Houston should have led with It's Not Right But It's OK. Starting with When You Believe caused MLIYL to debut at #13 and #1s to debut at #4, both albums coming in lower that week than stars with lesser careers and longevity: Alainis Morisette and Jewel. Thoughts?

Bonustracks among Mariah's best (89,238) by Edouard from France
I absolutely adore most of Mariah's bonustracks/unrealeased/B-sides. The others, I just love them IMHO.
- "Do you think of me" is better than any ballad on Emotions but CLG, TTEOT and TW.
- "Everything fades away" is better than any ballad on Music Box but Hero, AYNAF.
- "Slipping away" is almost as good as ABMBB (that's not possible, though).
- "There for me" (which clearly is a bonus track from Rainbow) is better than "After tonight".
- "Miss you" would have been my fave uptempo had it been included on Charmbracelet. And I love IKWYW and There Goes my Heart .
- On TEOM, I must say, outside of the bonus tracks included on the deluxe edition, the only bonus track that I believe to be very, very good is "When I feel it".
- 4real4real is better than many songs on E=MC2, especially "I stay in love".
- "100 percent, I mean" come on. And what about Skydiving.
- "Runway" is a pure marvel.
Basically Mariah's bonus tracks are just as good as her album material. it never feels sub par. On the contrary, some of them are among her best work.

Adele has separated. Here comes her best, the next, 19.2. Bless her heart and that of her ex and their son.

I didn't even listen to the remake. I was scared. If she messed up Frankie Beverly I'm going to be pissed. Lol.

Re: Madonna & Maluma - Medellín (89,228) (89,234) by jaker20 from US
Madonna is always collaborating with someone new. I would like Mariah to collab with a country artist. Old Town Road is one of the hottest tracks I've heard in awhile, and hopefully Mariah can branch out to that genre too.

Re: Beyonce (89,232) (89,233) by RibbonB from USA
Of course her fans have said "she gave them what they didn't know they needed". Lol. I don't like her Before I Let Go remake though, but the original song is a classic. Good effort .

Re: Beyonce (89,224) (89,232) by Licia from USA
Although it pissed a few people off because it's a performance they already saw, a story she repeated when she was pregnant with Blue, and songs she's already released, it was genius. I'm not a huge fan either, but I give her props on these moves.

Re: Mariah - queen of the intro (89,226) (89,231) by Licia from USA
I was just about to say, "What about those bridges?" Lol. Alone In Love, IDWC, Till the End of Time, and Can't Let Go. There's more but that's all I can think of right now. I agree she's the queen of all of it. If that intro doesn't pull you in, that middle will catch your interest. If the middle doesn't work , that outro is sure to get you.

Article: Why veteran artists should stick to three new songs (89,229) by Travis from USA
I completely disagree with the article. The whole point of any tour is to promote a latest effort. Don't get me wrong, of course it's great to hear the hits from the past, but personally, Caution is fantastic and tons of people aren't going to mind hearing more than three songs from it.

Madonna is following Janet's lead. Janet released Made For Now with Daddy Yankee and now Madge is releasing a song with Maluma.

"Till the end of time outro" is pure bliss. I give credit to Walter A.

Re: Mariah - queen of the intro (89,222) (89,226) by Bill from the UK
Yes, agree with the outros too. Till the End of Time's ending is probably my favourite, followed by Everything Fades Away. Other great outros are To Be Around You (love the party going on), obviously All In Your Mind, and Do You Know Where You're Going To. Okay so she's queen of the intros, outros, and inbetween-tros lol. She is the queen.

Re: Mariah - queen of the intro (89,221) (89,225) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Oh that's so true. I love all her intros. "Vision of love", Fantasy" and "You're so cold" are so phenomenal and outstanding. I could listen over and over just to the intros. I did that many times, but Mariah is the only singer where enjoy doing this.

Beyonce (89,224) by RibbonB from USA
Wow, I'm not even a fan, but she keeps doing interesting things. Congrats to her for pushing her art and dropping ish, unannounced and unapologetically. Her entire discography has re entered the iTunes charts. Now that might be the duet Mimi should push for.

Madonna & Maluma - Medellín (89,223) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Madonna is known for putting out first singles that are designed to effect maximum impact. This new one, though, is her least flashy lead single since Frozen. It's like a weaker, modern cousin of La Isla Bonita. If she was hoping to ride the Latin wave, she may have arrived a little late to the party. However, she chose the best partner to do it with. Maluma sounds great. The extra autotune in Madge's vocals was unnecessary.

Medellín is not the banger everyone is hoping for from Madonna, but she has missed the mark in her last 2 albums so badly that this weirdly comes across as a return to form. At least she's doing something that, while may not be entirely new to her, still at least stands out of today's very drab music scene thanks to its hopeful summer vibe.

Yes Bill, but the outros too. Think Ribbon, ABMB, To Giving Me Life and 8th Grade.

Mariah - queen of the intro (89,221) by Bill from the UK
Vision of Love, You're So Cold, Emotions (Unplugged), Dreamlover, All I Want for Christmas Is You, Fantasy, My Saving Grace, You Don't Know What To Do to name but a few. Love the slow build intros she has across her catalogue.

Mariah is thankfully well adjusted (89,220) by jaker20 from US
What's happening to Britney (God bless her and what she's going through) made me realize how surprisingly well adjusted Mariah is. For someone who has achieved so much fame and success, she still managed to be level headed, heading into the next phase of her life and career that she will be able to enjoy. All the love the tributes. Because many may have had great success but not many have been successful in enjoying it. If only all lambs can be like Mimi. I admit, sometimes I'm guilty too. But I do think it's time we mute the negative nancies here, because they will pull you into their mess and join in their misery. It's not always about being on top, but also enjoying what you have achieved, because in the end none of these matters but our health and happiness.
