Re: Music Box and Slipping Away (89,756) (89,757)

Now if she ever sang a lick of Till the End of Time, that will be my pass out moment, lol. I love how she is singing less performed live songs and/or more obscure album cuts during her concerts. Music Box came on my playlist the other day. What a masterpiece. I can see why that song tugs at your soul.

I can't believe Mariah sang Music Box. I would have have straight passed out if I was there. Hey guys, I believe Mariah reads this messageboard occasionally. Interesting how all of sudden she is singing songs that we talked about recently on this board. Myself and others expressed our love for MB not too long ago. If that's the case, Mariah please sing Melt Away and Joy Ride.

The standard (89,755)

Whether you agree with me or not it is alright with me. Mariah is truly the standard simply because everyone compares her to herself more than other artists. Her performances at Albert Hall were great and the fanfare and critics were on her side as well. This resurgence of confidence has done wonders for our girl whatever she is doing I want her to keep it up. Bravo Mariah you are doing great. Have a great day/evening my Archives family and let’s continue to love ourselves and respect one another.

I think she said it's because she wasn't gonna stay late for his set in order to perform one song. I love her vocals on that little video with Rocky dancing and lip syncing to Endless Love.

Did she give me 90s vocals? Definitely not. Did she give great vocals anyway? Hell yes. She sounded so good on both songs and it was definitely a nice surprise to hear them. I also wonder why she didn't perform Endless Love with Lionel. That definitely would have been a nice addition to their tour.

Snippet song (89,751)
by Will from Australia

How awesome would it be if Mariah dropped a song from her set list (looking at you Touch My Body) at every concert and just used the five minutes to sing some snippets of songs she doesn't perform usually like Melt Away, The Wind or Mine Again. I'd die.

Goosebumps: Slipping Away and Music Box (89,749)

I was at the concert last night and it was quite the evening. The moment she started singing Slipping Away and Music Box you could feel the collective gasp around the Royal Albert Hall. Total goosebump moment.

25 years? (89,748)
by automatic_prince from Germany

Even though most of the current reviews are pretty good I feel like all the papers are really lazy and just copy and paste from each other. First it was "Mariah hasn't performed at Royal Albert Hall in 25 years". Which is not true. She performed there at the Tickled Pink concert in 2005 (which by the way was 100% lipsync but a very nice performance - look it up). And the latest review now writes "she hasn't performed in London in 25 years". Lol. No, it's actually been less than six months. Hilarious.

Slipping Away live and vocals (89,744)
by enwar00 from usa

What the actual [...], she sang a handful of lines from Slipping Away a capella. Come on Mimi, just add it to your playlist, we're here for it. I honestly feel the Caution tour has the most diverse, experimental and exciting set list of all her tours thus far. Finally something different. And I don't know where she pulled these 90s-esque vocals out of, but I'm shook. Is European air fresher or something? Daydream tour, SSF tour, and now this leg of the Caution tour, what's up with that?

Re: Mariah shares post of her and Celine Dion carpool karaoke (89,722) (89,743)

This is way too funny. I love how she rephrased the post as well. I'm so happy she practically referred to Celine as a friend. Does anyone know whether Celine has interacted with M's post or the video in general? I know M probably doesn't dislike Celine but it seems like lately the only time she "knows" Celine is when she's reminded of how Celine tried to out stage Aretha back in 1998. Celine is too likable to be disliked. I'm still praying for that duet. I know, same old tired topic. But I have the right to dream.

Love to read all the reviews. Royal Albert Hall really must be so special. A tour DVD of it would be very welcomed. I also prefer a smaller venue for Mariah. So it's really perfect. I read that the one in Paris will also be a smaller venue and not a stadium. I wish I could go there or in Hamburg but this time I can't. Are any of you lambs going to see her on the next dates in Europe? I hope to read more of your experiences with the Caution tour.

I went to the show on the 26th and I was blown away yet again. Sure, there were some parts that were lipped, but the extra whistles, the strength in her voice surpassed all that. Now that she's more comfortable performing she's having more fun with the songs and the set list and it showed. To decided to do Endless Love was a great touch and one that I think no one expected from her. There was a great balance between the older and newer songs and it all just felt and sounded so right. Cannot wait for her next tour, and to be honest, I hope she sticks to the smaller venues.

Watching the clips, how I wish I could have afforded tickets to see her. Endless Love with Trey was just magical. I wonder why she didn't sing it with Lionel when they did their joint tour. Honestly, the love and friendship between MC and Trey just transcends out to the audience and shines through with every look they give each other. Wonderful moment, I hope it now becomes a tour regular for the remaining dates and in the future, as it's been far, far too long since we've heard this gem.

Robert, they may not be collaborating with her because of all those negative things. But it also could be as simple as the fact that she's considered an icon. No one really hits up Madonna, Stevie Wonder or Streisand. If those legends want collabs, they are the ones who reach out. I think most people would be honored.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I heard Cross Me on the radio. It would have been so nice for MC to have sang with Ed Sherran on his new album project. So, why is MC not asked to duet with the pop singers of today on their albums? Is it because of her diva ways? Is it because she is only viewed as a R&B/Hip Hop singer these days? Is it because her voice is so unpredictable these days that many pop singers are afraid to ask their labels for approval? For the latter, I don't think she can pull off a television promo without upsetting the other artist with her need to have perfect vocals or utilizing a backing track.

I have not read the other responses yet but I think vocal "evolution" may not be the right word to use. While Mariah's Rainbow tour vocals may not be that popular with some, her voice that time was full of confidence, something the latter years would have lacked.
