To be honest I thought they had more (89,981)
by Randy from USA
| |
|
|
If this is what MC was scared of being released, it's a bit anti-climactic. I thought it would be some embarrassing things that we had no clue what was going on, like hardcore drugs or a sex tape. This is exactly what I think went on in the background during that era with Stella and the rest. She was having some out of it fun and people recorded and snapped pictures. Is it good for her legacy or for her kids? No. But this is so not the jeopardization of her career she seemed so worried about in legal paperwork.

Are the pics supposed to make me think less of her? I mean, have you guys checked out this new app called Instagram? That place has some questionable pics all over the place.
Look, I'm not saying I like the pics (certainly unflattering lighting, if I'm being kind), but they weren't meant to see the light of day. I don't care what/whom they were meant for.
Mariah showed a lack of judgement by trusting that camp as much as she did, but there's nothing she can do about it now. Slut shaming is never a good look on anyone. I'm here for the talent.

Is that it? (89,979)

We've been reading about the law suit and the alleged intimate moments but if what we've seen in the Daily Mail is the extent of those intimate moments then thank goodness. I was expecting much worse. Mariah can shake this all off with either the MW narrative and the fakeness of that or either her bipolar condition. I'm not worried about how she'll recover, she will.

Mariah Carey had affair with her backup dancer (89,978)

Although I did not watch the show fully, alot of this played out on the show. We already knew she was messing around with Banaka while she was with JP. As for those pictures, they look really bad because she looks super wasted, but it's not super shocking as far as the sexting goes. It was wrong for her to send naked pics to another man while engaged, but not shocking. I hate that they are trying to humiliate her, but we knew this would happen. Marissa you hit on alot of good points about Banaka. I've never trusted or liked him. He's no better than Stella and her crew in my eyes.

That is so messy and embarrassing. I don't get why she would send embarrassing photos like that. Does she not know how technology works? If its on anybody's phone, even your phone, it will find its way out. She didn't even do her make up lol.
But honestly in this day and age, that is pretty tame and no one will care. Let this be a lesson for her though, hopefully she'll learn.
In the end, the public don't care. They see it and move on. If that's Mother Theresa then the people would be shocked. But come on, we've seen Mariah act like that on her videos and even on some photoshoots. So what's the big deal? My only regret is that he's not properly made up and the lighting was bad. But in the end, no one cares. She served a great album and hopefully the Grammys take notice and have a comeback narrative.

Stella and company (89,975)

If anyone can not see what is going on here you don't want to see it. Stella and company are definitely doing anything for clout and relevance because no one is paying attention to them. These gossip magazines and websites will do anything for a story that they know will bring them traffic or money. Obviously they know that M's names still attracts attention so if she is the target it's fair game. Honestly I am not saying that M doesn't deserve to accept blame for all the negativity and nonsense that came along with Stella and company but to continue to try to damage and destroy her because she does not want to associate herself with these people anymore is just plain pathetic on their behalf. It is time for these people to go into hiding and never come out again.

Man, please. I have seen worse from some of the biggest stars online, and yet they're working. The woman is sporting a six pack in every picture. If she is some overweight pill-popping mess, then why is Tanaka is with her now? He sure ain't cheating on her. And as for the kids, if she was acting so crazy, then why no one called child protection services, including her so-called manager? This shit smell fishier than a mermaid's bra.

If you tell me it's not cut and paste I may go with it. But the fake video of her singing it in the studio makes me question the veracity. I love Lead The Way. Mariah is undoubtedly proud of it. As am I of her for creating it. It trounces everything on TEOM (which I don't rate much as much as others seem to do) and I wish it were one of her signature tunes (aside VOL, Hero, Without You, AIWFCIY, WBT). It certainly isn't prime Mariah, but it is Mariah being spectacular post prime, in song writing as well as vocal prowess. Yes, the mid-level Whitney belts had gone (but so had Whitney's) but this was a vocal sensation. I miss those times. Whatever the new album brings, it silly requires:
A banging summer track with infectious hook A power ballad A stadium anthem A reflective but soaring introverted piece
Then we can all die happy. Time to move on from Caution and be bold. And stop acting like a common tramp.

Who cares? Packer is gay and Mariah was his beard. Mariah told Packer she was a "born again Virgin" to avoid sleeping with him, I can't. Did we not watch this play out on Mariah's World? I thought it was clear to everyone she began seeing Bryan while still engaged to Packer, was it not? Some of ya'll have a looser grip on reality than I do.

I hate to be the bearer of bad facts with so many drooling over Mariah's intended misfortune. However, most of this was on Mariah's World - this isn't new, it's just a twisted version of Stella's new script. Mariah was getting down at the party on the show. In the previews and behind the scenes snippets we can hear the director giving Mariah and Tanaka instructions. It's television. You aren't a fly on the wall seeing something nobody else can conceive, it's scripted and intended for viewership. Those photos are bad, but not any worse than what Mishka was uploading during the time period. It changed nothing. I also don't see anything in the text excerpts proving Mariah and Bryan were doing anything at the time. Mariah was renting a chateau for them all to stay in, not just Bryan. That was also in the show, along with the fact Tanaka was always helping her with her kids. We all know there were a lot of re-shoots too. Mariah would do well to stop being so "nice" with Stella and bury her already. A contract means nothing if you don't go through with the consequences for breaking it.

Everyone from the nightmare era is suspect (89,970)
by Marissa from USA
| |
|

Since the Daily Mail article was essentially about Mariah sexting Tanaka, I just have to say that I do not trust him or think he's innocent. I think he's a glorified sugar baby plain and simple. He was right there when she was mentally unstable and drunk and/or high just like everyone else enabling. He knew she was in a dark place but that didn't stop him from pursuing a relationship with someone who wasn't well or really in touch with reality. A strong man/a man who really loves you will not stand by and laugh and pose for pictures while you're destroying your life, acting foolish and surrounded by vultures. If anyone could find Mariah's behavior attractive from the nightmare era to want to be in a relationship long term without setting major boundaries or limits, they are either codependent or an opportunist. Just because MC kept him around doesn't mean he's healthy for her. Maybe he actually loves her now due to all the time that's passed, but in the beginning no one without an agenda and/or unhealthy self-esteem would have put up with her behavior. Yes, I know Mariah is ultimately responsible for her behavior but that doesn't mean other people are not guilty of enabling.

I had said it before, this is just the beginning from Cuntella and her daughter Bitchka. It's sad because I actually think Mariah is in a different place right now. I'm glad this is happening though, maybe she finally bursts the yass-queen bubble of people she's decided to trap herself in, incluring the yass-queen fans. Those pics are humiliating and Mariah looks as if she had herself a mixture of pills, alcohol and God knows what else. I was glad when Morgan opened his mouth, even though it wasn't for him to tell. She should've taken notes from that, her yass-queen nephew denied everything. I'll go with the yass-queen lambs, she was going through a divorce, having an affair, her humidifiers were contaminated, and the list goes on.

I wouldn't trust any timelines from that group she had around her. I wouldn't even be surprised if they were going behind her back to send those pics to BT, when they were really supposed to be going to AP. Cruella wanted to push and create drama for MW then pretend to rescue and save... for a fee $.

Thanks Andrew. I love Lead the Way, it is one of her best songs and really helps pull the Glitter album together. I never really analysed whether the ending was a cut and paste job, but having listened to it several times now I don't think it is. The fact you can hear her running out of breath towards the end helps the case, and I agree with Special K that she went all out for Glitter. If it was recorded a few years earlier, then it's even easier to believe and she had some great vocal moments during that time (CTTA and Against All Odds climaxes), so yes. I think it's genuine. Maybe I'm naive?

The Daily Shame (89,964)

The images of Mariah grinding like an overweight shameless drunken hoochy mama on Tanaka's lap that have appeared in the Daily Mail remind me that she is only a few missed pills away from ruining everything all over again. Today, I am once again ashamed to be a Mariah Carey fan. She has children. What's wrong with her, ffs?

I did go to the Charmbracelet tour too and it was overwhelming. Her voice was just stunning. It was my first concert and I had some doubts that the voice wouldn't be that brilliant live. But it was even better than on cd at that time. When she sang "Bringin on the heartbreak" the audience were freaking out. Mariah Carey at her best. The other songs from Charmbracelet were also even better live. And the band intro was so cool and classy diva. Best concert experience in my life. And one of the best nights until now.

I think everyone knows CB is mine. Lol. I'm not sure I can properly explain how an album that some fans have called sullen and depressing actually helped me, but it did. CB matched how I was feeling at that moment in my life and it came out when I needed it most. After 13 years of being a fan I finally got my Outside and Hero with Through the Rain and My Saving Grace. Basically I finally got an album and songs I could relate to. I never had that before CB. As a bonus I got to see her live for the first time.

Very interesting question. Mine would definitely be Butterfly. It was released just as I was discovering my sexuality and beginning to understand adult relationships. There was some definite pain, but some bright spots as well.
Here's my order of events: - Honey (the exhilaration) - My All (I'm in love) - Breakdown (you don't love me anymore) - The Beautiful Ones (they hurt you every time) - Close My Eyes (maybe I was too young for all of this) - The Roof (years later, I choose to remember the good times)

I can't believe she didn't go to California either. When they first announced the dates I thought maybe they were trying to see whether the smaller venues would sell before they added more places. I was wrong. TEOM was definitely lip city and I agree she was fun on that tour. The only reason I rank Caution above TEOM tour is because she's actually singing more on Caution. Yes there are still lipped spots, but not as much as TEOM.

Which album from MC's catalogue resonates the most with you on a personal level and why?
Mine would be "Caution". Despite that particular album not being my favourite the story that unfolds within, albeit in a different order chronologically, matches my personal life over the last six months so much it is scary.
However my story was in the following order: - One Mo'Gen - Caution - Giving Me Life - With You - GTFO - A No No
