Re: Jesus Born On This Day live video (91,329) (91,338) by Licia from USA
This particular song has not been a fav of mine. I think I've only listened to it once before now. Seeing the video though has given me a new appreciation for the song. It's a nice song and I agree with everyone else she looked so humble and sweet in the video. She looked like she really enjoyed these performances and I loved her interaction with the kids.

I hate when I don't pay attention to certain songs back when they were originally released and then I burst in 25 years late liking it.

Re: Memoirs by Andy (91,335) (91,337) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I agree Bill. To be honest if I never hear about JLo again it would work for me. I've heard enough of the "I don't know her" meme to last the rest of my life. Having followed her since 1990, not sure that we could hear anything about her marriage to Tommy etc that hasn't already been said. I am more interested in what she could potentially share that hasn't been discussed for decades. Her insight on music, any wisdom she might impart, what she may choose to be vulnerable about. I will be reading what she has to share in the book and don't have any expectations really.

Re: Memoirs by Andy (91,335) (91,336) by Licia from USA
Yes Bill I want all of this with some info on what's going on with the vocals. I definitely don't want the same recycled stories she's told since 1945. I do want to know what happened with Nick though. She talked about the TM divorce alot when they broke up. She's very quiet about Nick. I don't believe she's not saying anything because of their kids either. TM has kids and she didn't care about what they were hearing about their dad.

Re: Memoirs by Andy (91,332) (91,335) by Bill from the UK
See this is exactly what I don't want from the memoirs. The "lost" Rainbow interview and the Genius Level interviews are what makes my ears stand to attention. We know she fell out with Ben, Walter, and Damizza. We know she divorced Tommy and Nick. We know Stella was a nightmare. Who cares? I want all the unknown, unseen, unheard stuff about her as a musician. The stories behind the songs, her musical life before 1990, the technicalities behind her vocal arrangements and artistic choices she made, and her reflection on popularising the melisma singing style and pop/hip hop combination. Spilling tea about J.Lo? I do not care.

I doubt all your wishes will happen, or were those your thoughts? Lol. I do think she will talk a lot about her childhood.

Re: Memoirs by Andy (91,314) (91,332) by B from USA
Before I took my meds I thought y'all were saying Andy from the UK was publishing Mariah's memoirs. I imagine chapters dedicated to the deterioration of Mariah's vocals and her decline in artistry. I think Mariah is going to give us the unvarnished truth about her childhood, her falling out with Ben, her marriage to Tommy and subsequent divorce, her strained relationship with Columbia after the divorce, the Glitter era sabotage, and the Stella era and how it was the catalyst for her to seek treatment and return to music. I believe she'll be civil to Nick because of the children and that they will barely be mentioned because as she says they didn't ask for this life. I hope she does include some shady comments.

Re: Memoirs by Andy (91,324) (91,331) by Licia from USA
Some of the fans live for all the shade, mess, and drama. They'll just be giving the people what they want. Like y'all, I'm still hoping for the best. I always want her to win even when I don't agree. I talk a lot of crap, but I'm never wishing or hoping she fails.

Article: Mariah Carey returns to US YouTube Artists Chart (91,330) by Chicago Lamb from USA
With every lamb on the planet predicting a #1 for AIWFCIY, I can't help but think of Murphy's Law. It's my understanding that the Billboard calendar week strongly benefits Mariah's chances, but what, if anything could derail the possibility?

Yes she does. I have never seen a singer with this aura. "She was already a superstar yet she had such a humble demeanor." That's the one thing that makes her shine even more. I miss the humble Mariah. Anyway I really hope she will release more of it. MC deserves the 19th number one for AIWFCIY, it's time.

I think she just looks amazing in this video. Watching her perform the song makes a huge difference to me. She was already a superstar yet she had such a humble demeanor. I think she's going to release the whole concert footage building up to the crowning of AIWFCIY at #1 on the Hot 100.

Jesus Born On This Day live video (91,326) by enwar00 from usa
Well, the vault has opened further. Maybe people will enjoy the visual more than the audio. I'll be honest I haven't even listened to the new St John The Divine live audio, save for AIWFCIY once, but I enjoyed watching the visual. I hope they all get released one by one each week. Can you believe she released it despite the hair though?

Out of curiousity... (91,325) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Is there anyone on the board from the UK who might be willing to help me with the black and white Cosmo issue? (The one that says Merry Christmas Mariah on the cover.) I'd pay for it of course, and if a physical copy isn't possible I'd settle for scans. Trying to avoid inflated cost and shipping on Ebay. Thanks.

Yes gurl, I've been feeling angst about this book project from day one and then now showing his hand in it, says she's still in mess mode. Andy may be a fan, but he's also a fool.

Re: Memoirs by Andy (91,320) (91,323) by Special K from USA
It's going to be a hot, nasty mess that will make Mariah look like a fool. I can't believe Mariah is letting Andy's nasty gutter hands touch this project. Dude is the king of reality tv show slimy to the max drama. His platform is just plain messy. I hope and pray I am wrong and everything turns wonderful.

Re: Andy (91,321) (91,322) by Musti from UK
I have mixed feelings too but I will keep positive about this. Mariah isn't the best with tea spilling. She can't even openly say TM's name in most interviews. Andy could help her with what tea to spill and how much.

Andy (91,321) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Going to busy with him, I think he will be able to talk to her into giving the fans what they want from her memoir as he is a fan himself. Also her co-writer is a very reputable person who has helped Andy secure 3 New York Times bestselling book. I know that Andy has a reputation being connected to Bravo, but he has also worked for CBS news in the past which has a credible reputation. I am not going to prejudge this book until I actually read it. But I think that Andy and company will allow MC to loosen up and I think she will surprise some people with this book, but time will tell, and we have to wait and see.

Re: Memoirs by Andy (91,318) (91,320) by RibbonB from USA
I felt the same thing, just tried to sound neutral about it, but I too detect a mess. Will this just be a reality show book? Will anyone but die-hard lambs buy it?

Re: Sugar Plum Fairy Interlude (91,315) (91,319) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Haha, yes I can't get it out of my head too (even if it's not playing). Mariah created another earworm. When I woke up today, humm, humm, humm, humm.

Re: Memoirs by Andy (91,314) (91,318) by Norman from USA
Reading about this put a bit of a dark cloud over the project, for me. As much as I like Andy's show and Mariah's appearances on it, his brand isn't about respectability, or of good repute. This is a Mariah's World move; it's not even lateral.

And as I write this, Ella Mai and H.E.R. provide an ominous soundtrack with Gut Feeling.

Merry Christmas new video (91,317) by Lara from Middle East
Looking at the footage makes me appreciate her darker hair even more. It's nice to see her mother in the video and she looked genuinely happy in the shots.

No Todd not The Peel. I literally had to google where that was as I live in Brisbane and was only visiting Melbourne, did I miss out on a hotspot?

The song is on repeat in my head all day. I’m literally walking around hearing the strings and the whistle and then the hummmm hummmm hummm hummm.

So it seems Mimi's memoirs are being published by Andy Cohen Books. Not impressive, but I hope it's worth her time and effort.
