Re: The memoir (92,284) (92,307) by We are Lambily from USA
A person upbringing is essential to a true artist artistry. Most artists have been through a lot and that's why we connect with them. People like Dua Lipa and most pop artists just makes us happy. But a lot of us go through stuff. Life is a bitch. A lot of you have cute ideas about her going into detail of her albums and songs, she may do that to few songs.

But a memoir is a biography in its true nature. I wanna know everything, she won't be able to give us all the tea since the powers to be won't allow that. But I truly hope she is as transparent with her memoir as she has been with her music throughout the years.

Re: Charmbracelet singles (92,298) (92,306) by Bill from the UK
Through the Rain was fine for a lead single and good at "resetting" everything after Glitter. I was excited to hear The One was planned to be the second single, and mortified when it was a scrapped in favour of Boy. I would have put out I Only Wanted or Yours as the third single, and would have still ended it with I Know What You Want as the fourth.

Re: The memoir (92,295) (92,304) by Bobby A from United States
My real concern is promoting the book without a new album to go along with it. If there is no new album to talk about and how parts of the book are reflected in the new album, then the book will quietly fade away the next week after its release. MC and her team must have a promotional tour modeled after Michelle Obama's book promotional tour. It was a huge success for her. A morning talk show and late night promotional tour would ensure the book promotional tour a major success. I hope MC writes companion songs for Vision of Love, Hero, and Love Takes Time to bring her earlier chart success back into the forefront. Only time will tell how serious she becomes about studio time after the Vegas shows. If she focuses, she can record a new album in 6 months. March through August will be pretty interesting to see what she can do in the studio. I feel she was in the studio last night with a new male producer. She had been too quiet this month. Lol.

Charmbracelet has very good songs, but the singles selection was awful. My choice:
The one
Yours
Clown

Migrate (92,302) by Edward from USA
Mariah wanted Migrate to be a single, there's not doubt about it, but she never pushed it or considered it to be the second single. She had a formula that had worked very well for ages, and she went with it. When asked, on an interview with Perez Hilton, about rumors that Migrate would follow Touch My Body, Mariah's response was: "Darling, we know what we're doing. We're going with a ballad." She didn't look displeased. I do really think Mariah and her team thought Bye Bye would be We Belong Together 2.0, but it wasn't. This notion that Mariah is a helpless child controlled and coerced by anyone is ridiculous, especially at that stage in her career. Mariah has made great decisions and some not so good ones, but let's not praise Mariah for her good decisions and blame others for her bad ones, that's insane.

Isn't it interesting that the Rock has never been a love interest in any of his movies. Not really, he's been a dad etc. Handsome enough guy, but he hasn't been that movie sex symbol. But I'm not a big fan and can't say I've really followed his movies, but I have seen enough of them on cable. He's done a few sex scenes in his football show, but meh.

Charmbracelet singles (92,298) by Joe from United Kingdom
OK so I think the singles chosen off Charmbracelet were all sorts of mixed up. I you had choose 4/5 what would they be and in what order should they have been released? I'm thinking an uptempo should have been released first.

Bill / Migrate (92,297) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Bill don’t jump the gun because Mariah herself wanted Migrate to be the official second single from E=MC2, but her label IDJ and the powers that be chose Bye Bye as the official second single. They allowed her to go with TMB as the lead single because they were fighting between TMB, and TC to lead off the album.

What are you implying, that Migrate should've been a single? That would've been genius. I wonder why nobody ever mentioned that here.

Re: Yummy? (92,258) (92,293) by B from USA
Yummy is underwhelming compared to What Do You Mean. So, you like EDM/Pop music which explains why you haven't liked any of Mariah's recent releases. You don't like R&B music. GTFO and The Distance have elements of EDM but you didn't like either of those songs. Maybe you should find an artist that makes the music you like since you clearly no longer like the music Mariah makes.

Mariah and Dwayne Johnson look so good together. He should play her love interest in a music video at least.

Speaking of Migrate, had that been a single Mariah would have now matched The Beatles' record. But still. She knew best.

Re: The memoir (92,272) (92,289) by Licia from USA
Bill I'd take a memoir based solely on the music too. To be honest I think that's the only topic where she might be a little more open. I love the idea of her discussing certain songs. I want to know what the hell she was thinking when she thought corny like Fritos was a good lyric and what the hell were they smoking when they recorded and let the internet hear Why The F*ck You Made That remix. Lol.

No matter which direction she chooses to go in though, I'm going to need a few chapters on those vocals. That is the most important topic for me and it needs to be discussed and explained in detail. Before any of y'all say it I already know I may not get the discussion I want about the vocal decline. I'm just hopeful that it will at least get brought up. Lol.

Mariah, Dwayne and Mykall-Michelle in a movie (92,288) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
I hope any movie producers would do a movie and cast Mariah and Dwayne Johnson as the parents of Mykal-Michelle. Mariah can sing the theme song of the movie as well. Just my hopeful imagination.

Re: Things have definitely taken a turn (92,282) (92,287) by RibbonB from USA
People are just skeptical as Mimi has been elusive, evasive and even erratic over the past few years. She has sued and been sued by so many lately and all the fans have lived through it with her. So 'scuse the skepticism or learn to skip over it. We shall all see soon enough.

2020 is the year that artists are changing sound (92,285) by Bobby A from United States
So many artists are going to be giving fans something new with their music this year. Justin Beiber is going more R&B. Adele is going to release her most personal album to date with possible features from Drake and Harry Styles. Dua Lipa is going to incorporate disco and pop. Sza has a crazy song with Justin Timberlake and other high profile features. Rihanna is going to release a double album - one reggae and one pop album. Sam Smith is going to give us more songs like How Do You Sleep by Ilya and Savan Kotecha. Brandy and Monica are going back to their 90's sound for their new albums. Usher is going to give us some old school Usher vibe by working with producers that he first worked with in the beginning. Alicia Keys just released an Ed Sherran co-written neo-soul jam called Underdog. She has been giving fans a neo-soul sound since last year's Show Me Love. So, MC is going to have to reach deep in her creativity bag to bring us something fresh and new because other artists are going to be hot this year on the charts. I am saying now that we will see a flood of March/May/April new song and album releases. I hope MC is working on a plan for her next masterpiece. Ed Sherran call up MC please.

Re: The memoir (92,272) (92,284) by Will from Australia
I'd take it being just about the music if she serves it like that. She went into great detail of the process of recording AIWFCIY for the anniversary so that treatment to her other songs would be welcomed. Hopefully giving flowers to those that do deserve it be it with ideas and concepts.

Her giving some new information on things we don't know about the music would be amazing. Inspirations for the songs etc. Also the tea on things that never came to life, JT on Yours, the Glitter songs with Prince/Madonna. MJ and other duets that never happened.

I do want to know about the JLo stuff from behind the scenes from the music to any encounters they've had and what Tommy told her behind closed doors.

Her upbringing yada yada just does not interest me - yes you had a tough upbringing, yes it had racial undertones, yes you had no proper shoes upon your feet and sometimes you couldn't even eat... but we've heard this as many times as AIWFCIY the Santa Claus Kissing Mariah Extreme Festive Under The Mistletoe In The Sugar Plum Fairy Kingdom... version.

Now if there's something that nobody knows about from her childhood, that's extremely private which she chooses to share, then I hope she does it as part of the recovery process from what ever that ordeal was and I wish her well, love and peace with it.

Overall though, I'll buy whatever trinket she delivers, even if it is tales from her rides over the rainbow on butterfly wings writing her own songs, exclusively, from an eternally 12 year old's perspective, who writes her own songs, in search of her vision of la la land, which is more than just a made up (pause).... drehhhriiiiiiimmmmmmmmmmm.

Migrate duet with Ariana (92,283) by Dove from United States
If Ariana and Mariah did a duet of Migrate, Mykal-Michelle Harris can play young Mariah and Monroe can play Ariana. (They could straighten her hair and give her a high ponytail.) They could shoot at the amusement park where Fantasy was filmed and have choreographed routines. Nick (Cannon) and Mariah can direct it and Tanaka can choreograph it. Of course Rocky would be in it too.
