AYNAF is the best song on Music Box in my opinion. It took me years to realise its immense power and beauty, but it's one of the best things she's ever done.

"Anytime You Need a Friend" is such a great song, and appropriate for these trying times.

I have always said what I think. I don't think I am any different now. I would not have friends whom I message outside of this board if I was a complete dick. It's just the positive is outweighing the negative right now.
I am genuinely worried about what is happening on an existential level. False political hope of getting out of it sooner than we can? It's nonsense. I know the Americans are lagging behind Europe but are feeling it just as bad. Especially with the nonsense coming out of the American President's mouth - a person I once supported. This is all insane.
My Prime Minister is now in Intensive Care. We know that within 5 days you're either moved out of ICU or you're dead. He's not my head of state. The Queen is my head of state (God save her). But I am, as my country is, shocked.
I have genuinely turned to Mariah's music in these times, just as I have always done when bad things happen. Her voice is a constant to me. Yes, I have a Queen. An actual one. And her speech was brilliant and soothing. For "we will meet again". But Mariah will provide me with another constant that I know of.
Let's keep it positive.
I wish all of you, genuinely, long and happy lives.

Haha yes, I do it for so many of her songs. The main one for me is the "reaching for a dream" intro for Make It Happen, I recite it every time the album version appears. Even when listening to Can't Let Go I add in the "if you know it sing along" line from Unplugged, and yell out "sing" (exclamation mark) after "I'll be eternally grateful" line in Vision of Love from MSG. And at the end of Dreamlover I add a "how ya doin" from the Thanksgiving special. I actually wore the tape out of my Thanksgiving video so had to get a new one. Just a great production from start to finish. Whenever I order a takeaway pizza when the delivery person rings the bell I always say "pizza everybody" like MC did when she made two pizzas for like 500 people lol.

Recently some stunning blue eyed guy suggested Mariah pay a comment forward to the NHS choir for the AYNAF tribute. Seems Mariah likes this blond stud, after all. Suggest he become her manager.

And absolutely the same to you and your loved ones in return, Brandon.
Does anyone else talk over the AYNAF intro: "This is another new song from my new album, called Anytime You Need A Friend. I just wanna dedicate it to everybody here to fight. Thank you for coming." I do it every time.
I watched AYNAF from Here Is Mariah Carey so much I can do all of her hand movements without looking. Watched it every day before school without fail. Those were the days. They were simpler times.

She was working on a new song on her anniversary so she's working on something. Personally, I think she's going to release a new single to coincide with the release of her memoir.

They sold millions of albums and singles and make a ton of money from touring and if I'm not mistaken they scored a hit on the country charts a few years ago.

The Backstreet Boys haven't done anything in years. That's probably not their house, but they wanted us to think their rich, lol.

There was a really sexy blond guy on here recently who said that Anytime You Need A Friend would be the song to fit the times. What a wise soul that guy was.
Guy's and St Thomas Hospitals in Central London have helped me out many times, without cost, efficiently and always with good spirit. I love the NHS (National Health Service in the UK). I love what it stands for, I love what they do and I love everyone in it. Great rendition of AYNAF. I believe a comment from Mariah is in order.

What I also appreciated from Mariah's iHeart Living Room performance: she didn't flash her house. I don't believe her recording microphone is in an unglamorous tiny corner with a few picture frames. She's Mariah Carey - rather quite well known and successful in the world - and I am sure she can afford bigger and better than, say, a Backstreet Boy, but, whilst people stuck at home in tiny apartments without gardens or outside spaces looked on, the Backstreet Boys showed you opulent living rooms, grand pianos, grandiose fire places and, ugh, a swimming pool. Crass. That Mariah filmed her segment it in a humble corner was a very on-point thing to do.

We all have suggestions on what Mariah should do while the quarantine situation is going on due to the Corona pandemic. But honestly we do not know what she has been up to during this time besides the videos she has posted here, and there. As we speak she can be creating some new material, or finishing some up music that she put aside for other obligations or not feeling inspired at the time. I am sure that she is working on a couple of things to satisfy all the different people who make up her fan base. Only time will tell, all we can do is wait and see the outcome. Everyone be blessed, and stay safe.

Fan favourites concert "no April Fool's joke" (93,504)

This would be a perfect year for that "album cuts/fan favourites" concert she always talks about. But instead of taking it on the road and having to deal with critics writing about vocals or empty seats, she could do it in the privacy and intimacy of her recording booth and upload it to YouTube. It would be a way to still do something during the year of lockdown, and at the same time build good will for many years to come.

Amen Andrew. By the way, now that most of their schedules and concerts have been or will be cancelled, I wish Mariah could focus on connecting again with her musicality, with the art of singing live from her home and crafting music. Now that she won't be doing those boring residencies singing Hero and her number ones over and over again with tired vocals, only for the contracts and the money involved, I would love her to bless us with more moments like the recent ABMB performance. She can sing In her studio, do some acoustic performances taking her time, feeling comfortable and uploading the one she thinks Is the best, without all the pressure of being on a stage. Sing just for the love Of singing and gifting her fans, and proving the main publicado that she still got it, just as she did last Sunday.
Camon, she has a huge catalogue, and songs she only sang one or twice or even none. Vanishing, Alone In Love, All In Your Mind, If It's Over, The Wind, Music Box, Now That I Know, I Am Free, Looking In, Open Arms, Babydoll, The Roof, Close My Eyes... Go for the ones you hardly ever sing, Mariah.

Yes indeed. His songs are so classic, impactful, memorable. Just amazing. And it's great that he retired and just lived life, for a few decades, at least two. I've been wanting to see his documentary, Still Bill, from a few years ago, now I will have to look for it.

by Bill from the UK

Side Effects: Mariah is a pharmacist who accidentally prescribes the wrong medication and then has to deal with the consequences. Court room drama.
Prisoner: Mariah has been jailed and is now on death row following the critical reception to Glitter, and this is about her struggle adjusting to life behind bars and one fan's attempt to free her.
I Am Free: The sequel to Prisoner, where Mariah and her saviour fan embark upon a new life, and all the trials and tribulations that await this regular odd couple. Rom com.
And You Don't Remember: An amnesiac Mariah navigates a confusing world after falling from a cliff and losing her memory. Drama.
Underneath the Stars: Whilst stargazing with her beau, Mariah is abducted by aliens and the film follows her and her boyfriend's attempts to outwit the aliens and return safely to earth. Sci fi.
The Beautiful Ones: Mariah enters a beauty pageant and soon becomes aware of all the back stabbing and nastiness involved. She tries to turn the contest to be about personality and not looks. Comedy.
Joy Ride: Mariah features in a spin off to the Fast and the Furious franchise and puts the pedal to the metal in this high speed andrenalin rush. Action/adventure.
But When I Saw You as a horror featuring Mariah wielding a saw is just hilarious.

How I love Bill Withers. Last year I bought three Cd's because I always loved "Just the two of us" and the phenomenel "Ain't no sunshine". "Lovley day" is so wonderful too. Makes you feel good. I also love "Grandma's hands", Blackstreet did a very good sample with "No diggity", but the original song is pure genius. "Use me", "Who is he", "Harlem", "Hello like before" and "I want to spend the night" are my other favourites. RIP Bill Withers, thank you for real music with heart and soul. Your music will stay forever.

Twister was the nick name of Mariah's stylist Tonya Twist, who killed herself. The song Twister was in memory of her. People drew the parallel to Mariah after her supposed suicide attempt after the critical reception to Glitter.
