This is a message board, a place of leisure and entertainment. It is not that important. I hoped at least of lately with the current global situation that people would be able to understand what really matters in life. All the best to you all and take care. Diva pop declined in popularity especially post 2002. 90s artists had to adapt to that shift and even that did not guarantee that they would stay afloat - most were weeded out. Mariah was lucky enough to be able to recover thanks to a perfect storm of things that worked in her favor - her drive, determination, the strength of her 2005-2008 material, her management, her narrative, her image, and her sheer talent. It was reminiscent of Madonna's triumphant Ray of Light period. Also, although Tommy was like the Weinstein of music sans the cleaning up during awards season, he slowed down in the 2000s. Imagine Mariah as a runaway bride just like her video We Belong Together. She would be more successful because more people would acknowledge her talent, instead of know her as big boss' wife. I'm sure she would win all the Grammy nominations in 1996 and she even can be in movies too (Mariah said that she received many acting offers before the divorce). Butterfly album will be her another diamond album because Tommy did not hold any grudge against her and the album consists of four #1's; Honey, Butterfly, Breakdown and My All. She can marry Derek Jeter in 1998 and also act in the secret agent movie Double O Soul and the movie would become a big blockbuster movie in 1999. She can retire from music world in 1999 after releasing her #1's compilation album in 1998. Rainbow album never exist and so other albums after that. (Saturday 18 April 2020; 02:55)
