I can only imagine what Caution would've been (Butterfly part 2) if Walter produced "Portrait" plus two more songs to make it a twelve track album. For example (just for the imagination):
1. GTFO 2. With You 3. My All (soundalike) 4. Caution 5. A No No 6. The Distance 7. Giving Me Life 8. 8th Grade 9. One Mo' Gen 10. Stay Long Love You 11. Underneath The Stars (soundalike) 12. Portrait

One thing that I still don't get is how delusional Mariah is when it comes to her acting capabilities. I know she wants to be Marilyn Monroe (who also wasn't a great actress) but she needs to face facts that she's one of the world's greatest singers yet worse actors. Tommy wanted to shield her from it not from spite or fear she would become a massive star (hello he put all of the machine into making her that from her music chops) but because he probably knew how dreadfully poor she was at it with no raw talent. In her novella she still goes on about Glitter with that absurd linkage to 9/11 as the reasoning which added to its downfall and also all the editing of the original script yada yada - wake up. She tanks in it, her performance. Saying she got redemption because of Precious is then another rolled eyes moment. Precious success was because of the two leads and the gritty storyline. Mariah was a shock because of her appearance and she did, let's say better, than expected but she's wasn't winning anything credible for it. Wise Girls, again awkward performance but not unwatchable. Tennessee the same. Lee Daniel's is her mate so of course he will throw a dog a bone but where are the other role offers? Oh wait there is that Hallmark movie...

I’ll be shocked if there is a song collaboration with Ariana and Hudson. If there is I fully expect it to be an Against All Odds-esq with Westlife where they just record to mix with her pre-arrangements. It may just be a variety show with them singing her songs.

Contact me at mercyjames678@gmail.com. Did you order any MC vinyl? My Target Exclusive Merry Christmas vinyl came in the mail yesterday with the green, red, and white splatter. The sound is so much better than the first vinyl release. The Target Exclusive MTV Unplugged is coming next week.

Exactly. No one can deny his influence during the years he and Mariah worked together. Everyone always focuses on the bitter end to their relationship. Just because a partnership doesn't work out does not cancel out the success he had with MC. Both are talented artists. Both should be recognized. Both of them.

I could see it becoming an R&B hit and crossing over to the pop charts (Hot 100/70s/80s). It's catchy and nostalgic and classic yet modern.

He's mad that she won't let anyone and everyone who wants to license AIWFCIY to use in adverts to do it. By not permitting it to be used by everyone who has asked and continues to ask, she's kept the song from becoming oversaturated. Mariah's been selective and smart when it comes to licensing her music. The GAP, Hallmark Countdown to Christmas, and Ryan Reynolds' Free Guy adverts are amazing.

Walter Afansieff (96,519)
by Andrew from the United Kingdom
| |
|

On the balance of probabilities, I think it more than less likely Walter, during the process, altered and pieced together different melodies Mariah came up with. He also created all of the instrumentation which is integral to the success of the song. You only have to listen to the So So Def version of AIWFCIY to see what a horror show it could have been production-wise. Credit where credit is due. You can't deny someone their rights to IP just because you don't like them.
Interesting point I just found out: his real - or original - name is Vladimir.

Let's see if Bobby A actually re-reads the message and apologises. I doubt it. For what it is worth there are many many many people on here whose messages I enjoy. Mostly it is the people with a sense of humour and brain. I was even starting to take to him. Sigh.
Anyway, I have decided Mariah should defo be releasing a Christmas song with Ariana Grindr and JHud. Perhaps it could be called "Snowflakes" and dedicated to O Canada and all her thumbs-up friends.

It's still on YouTube, and there are other videos of him discussing their collaborative process and tons of print interviews. She would sing a melody to him and use him as a vessel to work through. He wasn't solo responsible for writing the music and producing their songs. It was out of order. When Walter claims she makes up words, he does it to diminish her credibility.

And then play Music Box the song right after those two. The O.G. of the twinkly intros. Ugh that sound is so underrated I must listen now.

All I want (96,511)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

As far as Walter is concerned he has made it very clear that he and Mariah would work on the production process together when they used to work together, but she would work on the lyrics solo. Unless it has been removed there is a video on YouTube from the Music Box era where this was explained in detail.

That doesn't sound diminishing really, but then I didn't read his words. She created the melody and wrote all the lyrics. Seems like she did the main work. Sounds like he just translated it to music with his ability to play. Hopefully he just stops whining.

Through The Christmas Rain (96,509)

Okay, you guys, this is freaky. You will not believe you have never noticed this. Apologies if you have.
I was listening to All I Want For Christmas Is You (Tokyo Dome) and the next random song that came on was Through The Rain. Play those songs in that order. And about seven seconds into Through The Rain you should be freaking out.
How did I not notice this before?

I stumbled upon Walter's Instagram account the other day. He wants to diminish Mariah's contribution to the writing and producing of AIWFCIY, which is the same thing he's always accusing her of. During their time working together, he stated she would come up with a melody and sing notes to him and lead him musically (melodically) and that she would write the lyrics by herself. After he claimed she made up words in an interview and used emblazoned as an example, he lost what little credibility he had left, in my opinion.
