I remember her telling that Infinity is a mix of Emotions, Vision Of Love, Obsessed and some other songs she mentioned. I can't wrap my head around it. I would prefer if Mariah plays secretive about new music because you know, suspense. Mariah should review her past songs that have been fan faves. Find out what made them special in our hearts. Then craft a song that has that special essence in it. It doesn't necessarily have to be in the same genres and structures though. (Tuesday 25 August 2015; 17:01)

Example unless NC had pushed her into we'd probably had never heard Emotions like in 2009 live ever again, prior to the #1's release. She claims to give us fan favorites but these favorites are usually avoiding her whistle songs such as Breakdown. Maybe she regrets writing them high because it difficult to do. Some fan favorites are Emotions, Someday, Without You (which appears to be performed only internationally but I adore it) prior to Vegas did we hear them that often, no. peaking of Vegas WOY should be a quick bleep during the show it is a #1, sense she has such destine her Columbia years had it not been for those releases mentioned above as well as others. Would we know who Mariah Carey is? Her whistle is her signature. Someone mentioned Bliss using the whistle which I love very innovative. When have we heard it live never. How about an old school mini tour or what have you? [MC] Alone in Love, Sent From Up Above [EM] And You Don't Remember, So Blessed [MB] Music Box [DD] Melt Away, Long Ago [CB] I Only Wanted, Lullaby [Glitter] Last Night Night A DJ Saved My Life, Didn't Mean to Turn You On, Want You. Andrew (56,266) by Mirage from Unicornatopia The problem is that whenever Mariah or her people have come out and said where the music is going, they have always been inaccurate. How many times have we heard that a single or song is similar to Vision Of Love or Always Be My Baby? To only get the likes of Triumphant, which is irony personified as far as I am concerned. Mariah has sometimes been chasing popularity with her music, which is why she probably will not come out and state the intended direction of her music, because there is less conviction than there has been in the past. I am not sure she understands where she is going any more. The foolish thing is, Mariah has the talent to stand by her convictions. When it is done well, you can be very successful. Just take a look at Adele, who did not follow any trends or try to be current. She just did her thing, did it well, and reaped the rewards. Mariah needs to look at what made her the star she is, and do that in a modern way, without trying too hard. What we don't need is another The Art Of Letting Go, where Mariah incoherently [censored]. M3rry Christmas (56,264) by Andrew from UK Chris, I did say a while back that she should come out and say where the music is going. There always seems to be let-downs now. And certainly, just why don't the fans/public get the music they want? Who was Infinity made for? I think it was a shock to everyone's system. And then, lo, a remix to make it even worse? I do not understand fans who bang on about "loving her for ignoring what everyone else wants". This is absurd beyond belief. The record label will only keep her if she can make music that sells, and her fans will only hang around if it's not "vomiting over the microphone" (still love that). Anyway, to be less bleak, a re-release of Merry Christmas isn't that big of a deal. I don't think it will do much in the way of either positive or negative. The only negative I can think of is that it will serve to remind everyone they're listening to 20 year old music. I've always thought Mariah never covered songs by other whistle register artists because it would be too predictable. Like it would be expected of her to cover songs with whistle registers. I'm not going to lie I did expect her to do Loving You. I don't believe anyone else has remade that one since Shanice (she killed it btw). I just would love to hear how Mariah would sing it. Radio still plays (56,262) by Gilles from Malta I am very surprised that here in Malta (Europe) radio stations are still playing 3 Mariah's songs constantly: "I'll be loving you long time", "You don't know what to do" and "Infinity". Even in a famous club named Havanah, they still play "Last night a Dj saved my life". Anyway I am happy and I wanted to share it with you. Regarding the Christmas vinyl, I bought it when I was young so I am not very excited about it. Regarding the news and critics, I do not listen to them anymore, there are always two polarities in this world, anyone can choose wich one they want to be fed. I love this woman dearly, but I will not be buying this reboot. However, I will purchase any new material, and that's it. This is such foolishness, and she should outright demand a shift. If Reid puts this reboot out, I'm just inclined to feel like he's pretty much sabotaging her, and doing a better job at it than Def Jam last few years. (Tuesday 25 August 2015; 7:01)

She has way too much untapped talent in that mental volt of hers to result to something to left field and boring. She has at least another good 5 years, until it's called for. Nobody really knows the direction she wants to delve into, because she is still very contemplative and cryptive about it. I need for her to just come out with it, and tell us what she's thinking. Random memory (56,258) by Manny from U.S. As I'm reading the message board about certain ideas Mariah should materialized, I remembered something. I have been obsessed with Mariah's whistle notes since the beginning. I remember telling other "lambs" how cool it would be if she used that part of her range for a big part of a song. I imagined an ethereal song like Underneath the Stars, Fourth Of July, or Minnie Riperton's "Loving You". I had imagined it more as a background technique. When I heard Bliss I went crazy. I couldn't believe she actually wrote that song and used the whistle much even as the lead parts. Have you guys, had something like that happen? You've had an idea and then she does do it. No one cares much about what she's putting out there these days, because she's drifted so far from the beaten path. Even JD keeps trying to tell her, but it seems she won't listen when it comes to the music, and why not care about what the fans want? We put her where she is today. We're just doing the best to try to keep her there, but she seems to be misguided in some of her decisions. I just hope she wakes up soon. I just love her so much, and want the best for her. I don't know if you were around back in the day but Mariah had stated that her Christmas album did not count towards her album obligation on her first deal. Plus, wouldn't filling the album obligation quickly be the idea? Artist's used to be enslaved to 8 album deals with little chance at renegotiating, even if they go platinum on the first effort (which is what is supposed to happen). She didn't get the advance she wanted per the rumors but I'm sure the deal was still a good one considering she hasn't had any major success recently and bring her back on to promote her classic material was probably the selling point. She just needs to make good quality music with great lyrics and vocals. No more Triumphant (I could care less that the dance remixes are "decent", it still sucks), TOAG, Infinity, hell, even Beautiful sounded unfinished without a bridge. I need complete, well thought out, quality songs, lyrics, melodies, and vocals like the last album. Stop with the rush jobs, it will always show in the sales and chart positions. Ofcourse people will buy it, ofcourse it will get support, but in the long run is it completely necessary? No. Her first Christmas album sold more than her second Christmas album, and I believe this new album will follow that trend. Time is ticking, the sooner that new music gets out there the better. This 25 year thing is also making Mariah see old lol. Why must we concentrate on Mariah entering the silver and golden years LA Reid? How is this a smart move? How is this a Mariah thing to do? I will always say Chantuese was a missed opportunity. And the music was great at Def Jam. Sony is giving me bad vibes tbh. But on the plus side Mariah "seems" happy. Right now Sony is milking Mariah. Which in my opinion is pretty unnecessary because either ways it sells like crazy every year. Plus we have heard every possible remix of "AIWFCIY". I am sick of L.A. Reid's stupid "vision". He is turning her into a re-release machine. I can understand the #1's being re-released since the original didn't have all of the songs together and also as a tie-in with Vegas, but re-releasing "MC" is silly. They need to stop living in the past. We have already established that Mariah is a global superstar. They should work on making her career going forward. She has the potential, she has the talent. But her only fault is she trusts L.A. a little too much. L.A. will only do what's good for his company (which he is right in his way), unlike what Mariah probably believes. That run she does in the whistle register at the peak of the song is so sick. I wouldn't mind her covering that song. Or maybe collaborate with another whistler like Chante Moore. Mariah is one of the few who knows exactly how the industry works. Also, Andrew, jazz is a lot broader than improv instrumentals. Calling jazz "boring" kinda goes to show that you don't really know what jazz is about. Some of the world's best vocalists were jazz singers. That being said, Mariah doing Great American Songbook tracks with a soulful twist to it would be good. Let's not forget she produces, too. (Tuesday 25 August 2015; 0:14)

Therefore they will only probably let her release maybe two albums in the future of new material. LA Reid is snakey. The industry except Mariah knows this. I've been letting go of any dream for a Mariah musical return because she has obviously turned into a money monster due to the influence of her new boyfriend and her new record company. We could do without new Christmas ship. We could do without a remixes album or whatever Sony is crafting up. We could do without Mariah playing Mariah on Empire. Is Mariah really that gullible? How is it that Britney Spears who finds it difficult to speak on a regular bases has had a fan ustream where she answered their questions, but Mariah has not? They don't see her as a legend nor give her the respect and praise she deserves. Which is more likely due to jealousy or because of her attitude. Either way, most don't care for her any more. Which is sad. Every artist's career hits rock bottom some point, but they're still continuously loved and supported by their fans. The two problems with Mariah is her music and her image. No grown person who knows what real music is going to listening to a song like "Infinity". She needs more better, stronger mature lyrics. Not to mention great music producers and collaborations. An album like "Musicbox" and "The Emancipation Of Mimi" combined would do her wonders. Along with a couple of songs that have a new sound. No more rappers and silly, cringing songs Mariah.
