You could write every minute about something bad that happened to innocent people. I would go crazy, it's the same with watching the news. Almost every day a horror story from all over the world. The gunshots in the US, every week/month there's something in the news. The world should do everything to have more peace and equality. Remember the times without social media? No, nobody think Mariah is a heartless b*tch and all the other adsurd things written here to detract from what is a very serious point. To quote Obama: "Not acting is a decision in itself." The point is that the (very recent) winner of GLAAD's award for supposedly tirelessly working for the gay community etc. should at least have removed the tweet about National Children's Day out of sensitivity if not posting something that actually shows support for something that has obviously massively affected gay people (a large section of those who give her her money) the world over. I did stand in vigil with thousand of gay people in Soho the other day and understand the vulnerability felt an the seriousness of what happened. It's nothing to do with Mariah if she doesn't want it to be, but like it or not: 1. She accepted an award about supporting gay people so should actually live up to it. 2. She shouldn't have to be wheeled out to the press just because she received criticism for her tweet and subsequent silence, and 3. Like it or not, she was expected to talk to her fans directly for once. It seems many people are wondering who exactly she is now. I'm sure I'm just a big old meanie or worse to some people here, but Mariah needs to get her act together. When it's good I'll shout about it. Stuff like this is PR rubbish and should be minded properly even if, for some reason, no true sentiment exists. (Wednesday 15 June 2016; 12:25)

However I'm finding it a little heartbreaking and insensitive to read from lambs who have tried to justify Mariah's silence by referring to the shootings as just another event. Err, no. Especially not in Mariah's circumstances. An ally is someone who actively shows support. I have gone out of my own way to do exactly that. There was an article posted here some time ago (I looked for it Eric but couldn't find it) where the writer applauded Mariah for loving the gays but not as publicly as Lady GaGa so as not to capitalise on them. When she received the ally award, I was surprised but also prepared to accept that she must have done things we are not aware of. I didn't think Lee Daniels would have awarded her simply on the basis of being a close friend. But her silence for days was kinda insulting. I will keep my fingers crossed that she made donations or showed support through other means, even if social media seems to be the most influential way of supporting something these days. Hate is mankind's biggest enemy and she has enough influence to make a change, or make people think twice in the very least. I will get over it eventually but I will always remember this as a major fail. She will always have my love and support. But let's face it lambs, this was a big muck-up. Would have been nice if she did send out a tweet as well but Mishka probably wasn't feeling it and we all know Mariah has no access to her social media these days. All of you coming for Mariah should go hound Mishka. Thank you Mimi L. for clearing the shooters motives for the general audience. I was about to but glad you did it so well. The media ofcourse is running away with "Islamic extremism" even though it goes way deeper than that. It was a gay man who did it at the end of the day sadly. (Wednesday 15 June 2016; 5:45)

What’s going on? (63,401) by 123 from USA What's going on with our board that used to be so exciting and fun to read all the different vantage points. No one else understood my fandom for Mariah, except for a couple of other "lambs" I've met along the way. I discovered this board in 2012. It seems like we have all been sucked into just complaining and criticizing lately. Remember back when MIAM was about to get released. Everyone complained about her being surrounded by "yes" men. She cleaned house and it seems like there are more complaints although there is plenty of room for improvement and reasons for concern. Then she gained weight and started having embarrassing performances where her live vocals were shot. She's lost the weight and has improved vocally and started to act like a performer again on stage and still more complaints. Then she finally went on an international tour that I've seen plenty of lambs request and then complaints about the tour. Then requests for her to get back to her day job and record new music and she announces it on the radio and not a peep from anyone showing excitement for new material. Nothing about who she should work with, duets, nothing. Of course there is room for improvement in all areas of her career but it seems it seems like the bashing and complaining has taken over. Orlando (63,399) by Darryle from USA It's so sad that things like Orlando are still happening in 2016 but, let's not attack Mariah for not tweeting about it. I understand that Mariah's fan base is predominately gay and she just recently won a GLAAD Award but, she's not obligated to tweet about Orlando because of those things. Mariah's part black, has a NAACP Award, and has a large black following but no one was up in arms when she didn't tweet about every instance of police brutality last year. If she did acknowledge Orlando it still wouldn't change any of the events that occurred. And for the record Mariah acknowledged Orlando during an interview on MorningZoo985. Am I one of the few that really doesn't care that she didn't tweet about it? What does a damn tweet really mean? Is it supposed to make those who lost someone feel better that "Mariah Carey" sent her condolences? If I had lost a loved one in that club, I could care less about which celebrity sent their condolences. It is not going to bring my loved one back. Is social media and what happens in this pretend internet world really that important to some of us? Maybe we need to step away from our electronic devices a little more, myself included. What if they have a benefit concert for the surviving family members to help them bury their loved ones. All of these people were young so I doubt most of them had life insurance policies. What if Mariah ends up taking apart of this hypothetical concert like she did for Hurricane Sandy. Wouldn't that be more beneficial to those that lost someone? More sincere? What if she does say something or better yet, take part of an event that would actually benefit the surviving family members, would anyone that was quick to judge her make a post taking back what they said? Some won't in my opinion because they seem to relish in the negative and point out every wrong move her and her team do. Instead of judging a celebrity, which is very superficial in a time like this, why don't we all say a prayer for those who lost someone. (Wednesday 15 June 2016; 3:49)

I loved the acoustic stuff she did for the E=MC2 release. Would be nice if she focused more on the songs and singing vs. the boy dancers and showgirl aspect for her Vegas shows. This happens when interviewers are well prepared, do their research prior to meeting the artist and really ask great questions, like in this case. I feel this has been one of the best interviews lately when they let Mariah focus on the music rather than on her dresses. I think Chris did a fantastic job. You can almost feel how comfortable she was talking about the music without losing her unique sense of humor. That really came through to me. I was hoping for it not to end. Fantastic . Maybe a sobering event like Orlando means she and her team will rethink some of the superficial frolicking for her reality show. But whatever the reason she hasn't addressed the situation to your liking, it is her personal choice to speak on it or not. Maybe Mariah has no words (63,385) by RibbonB from USA I did read that she expressed her sorrow this morning on a radio interview. Last I looked Adele, Beyoncé and even Lee Daniels also have not tweeted anything about the Orlando incident. Both Adele and Beyoncé have huge gay fan bases and Lee is an openly gay man, but who knows their reasoning or what they may be feeling now. Do people want Mishka to make some silly tweet on Mariah's behalf that would further complicate things? Emotions are high, but it seems like some people are misplacing their anger towards public figures. I'm sure all their fears and paranoia, if any, are heightened by all of this, what with someone getting shot at a fan meet and greet, bombings all over the world and now another nut job, committing a terrorist act. More famous people may go into isolation, or regroup to better handle interacting with fans in this changing world. That might include public interactions and also on social media. I don't like the new Mariah (63,384) by BIGGEST MC FAN from UNITED STATES Mariah doesn't seem very passionate about her music anymore because it doesn't show. She is a real diva these days (it's not an act), and she lives in her own glitter world. So yeah, I think I finally have come to terms with not liking the new Mariah anymore. I'll continue listening to her pre-1999 music and TEOM but I don't think I can stan her anymore. I hope she makes good music (for reference, I thought all her music released after Butterfly except TEOM and a few singles were very bad) in the future that can make me a fan again.
