I do agree that Mariah looked her best in the Say Something video. Cute outfits, nice shoes. The song was "floppage" though. Lol. Nice beat that went no where. Thank God she had Don't Forget About Us, One And Only, We Belong Together, Mine Again. Your Girl, too many, too much good stuff.

No problem Ribbon. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Her few sentences said a whole lot and I think summed up what happened. Mariah was too much woman, too much of everything for young Nick to handle. He had his way with this one and that one but being in a relationship with a mature woman proved to be too much. She basically said he needs more experience before dealing with a woman like "Butterfly". Lol.

What you said has nothing to do anything. Who really cares about who's the bigger star? This would have been a move that probably could have had a positive impact on her already tarnished image. Instead she'll once again look like this petty diva who can't let things go (if this rumor is true mind you) and J. Lo will look like the bigger person because she allegedly agreed to do it.

I hated the Neptune produced tracks on the Mimi album and thought they were the weakest tracks on the album. The beats they gave her were sub-par and you know they gave her those whack beats to get some quick cash on a deep pocket star whom they figured would never chart in the top ten again. I know Pharrell was kicking himself that he didn't give Mariah a "Can't Rely on you" by Paloma Faith or a "Happy" once she became 2005's chart queen with multiplatinum sales by the end of the year. She gave up production credits for the first time in 14 years for those tracks? I'm sure if he works with her again he knows now to give her the best of what he has to offer. Jermaine's remix of Say Somethin makes the original hide under a table in embarrassment as the lyrics actually come alive on the remix and she is actually singing.

Did you take it personally when I said the board has become negative? Last I checked you did't represent the board as a whole, yet you do have a way of swaying the mood here. You should be quite proud. Or maybe you're upset because I stopped feeding you. What's absurd is you talking about a topic you know nothing about. Practicing in the shower when you've had splashes and don't sleep aren't doing to do any good. Mariah isn't disciplined to stay in good voice when she isn't required to perform consistently. When she did perform these little one offs her live vocals were always scratchy, limited, and strained. Vegas might have saved her career as she is not having to discipline herself to make sure she is ready to sound good enough live, so if the engineer f*cks up the pre-record, she can improvise vocally on the spot. If she stays booked, we can finally look forward to a great tv performance again. Since she started Vegas she's only cancelled one gig and you haven't heard anymore cases of "bronchitis" that she seemed to always get before. She has even started to slowly remove some pre-records like the beginning of the second Honey verse for example. No more embarrassing performances like Rockefeller in 2014 or Jamaica. All you'll do is fire all her black staff which would include her so that would never work. Stay in your lane behind the bar and service your regulars.

Crave remixes (65,768)
by Ben from Sweden

I crave remixes of Mariah's older recordings, that fits a standard. Here's an example of a song that has potential. Unfortunately, I haven't found many remixes since the leak of Mariah singing "Butterfly" acapella. (1997).

I have to agree with what you said. I was there on the 28th. And could distinguish between back track and live. Mariah was 90% live. Lipping of course the majority of upbeat songs. She sounded amazing start to finish. She was able to do adlips and messed up a few times but still sounded heavenly. Her voice was so clear and strong. My boyfriend didn't want to go but wants to go back. He was surprised how good she sounded live and enjoyed the show.

Glittery angels and wizards lol you wicked, wicked boy, you. That performance looked painful - does she really actually enjoy singing anymore? Because it looks like she's swallowing gravel. Since when did Mariah become some sophomore singer in need of seasoning? Everybody now seems to be trying to repeat the word "legend" every other sentence whilst declaring that she has "nothing to prove". Well, if that's the case why is this legend with nothing to prove in need of drastic improvement in live performances? The argument that Mariah needs to perform more to get better at singing is absurd. She can practice in the [censored] shower like everyone else lol. It would be wise for Mariah to quit this Vegas nonsense, abandon Stella and this tv-movie and reality show debacle, call child protective services for her social media infant, take control of her own social media and start showing her remaining fans they're not just walking dollar signs, tell James she'll come back to him if they ever invent a gym for the face, fire her plastic surgeon, hire a new one to undo what the first one did, take her children and personal trainer to Capri, fly out some writers and producers who won't bash out the same old shite, beg Justin Bieber's forgiveness, chill out and write a new album she can reproduce live with which to regain her reputation. Oh, and hire me as her manager. She may not like me, but gimme six figures and six months and this shit would be back on track.

Featured in Say Somethin' So So Def Remix (65,761)
by Ben from Sweden

|
|
In 2005 when I was pulled into Say Somethin' So So Def Remix - without knowing how or why - at that time I chatted with a guy on MSN Messenger that could sing in "whistle register". It sounded a little hurt though and very airy. He was a Mariah Carey fan and hanged on "The Butterfly Room" (fan board), like me. Could it be that it was a woman I chatted with? And that pitch has been lowered in the recordings, which he sent? What if it was Mariah Carey? Just check the song Say Somethin' So So Def Remix on different sources/uploads on the web (YouTube) and you'll see that it's no joke. And you can check this out. I was 15 years old when this happened. This is how I sing today (september 2012). Regards.

Ya I think it would be such a great PR stunt, and lambs can spare me the "MC doesn't need PR stunts, she's above that", because lately she has been pulling a lot of random PR stunts either ways. So yes it would be great if they'd just do it and get it over with. Also this paves the way for the next #1 song "I don't know her (she's forgetful remix) featuring Jennifer Lopez".

The only lines that Mariah lipped in the My All performance is the "I'd give my all to have", other than that, nothing is lipped. The E5 there is pretty chesty, raspy and tight but we're getting to something. Are you kidding when you say you don't believe that she still did live full voice belts? Because it's actually pretty easy to distinguish the pre-record and the live vocals, they have different qualities. Mariah so far is able to get that heavenly resonance up to D5 and support up to Eb5 live. But most of the notes above Eb5/E5 are lipped, like the one in IDWC.

There's a big difference between the image Mariah projects now and what she projected during the Butterfly era, Rainbow era and TEOM era. Butterfly era, you could tell that she's truly emancipated, she's effortlessly sexy and is still so sweet and down-to-earth. Sultry. Rainbow era was pretty much the same, yet Mariah was really playful that era. TEOM era Mariah had confidence in spades, like she was on top of her game. This era? Those ass pics and all the awkward pics all scream desperation to stay "lit" like the younger generation of artists. She doesn't exude sexiness, she exudes this aura of "look at me, look at me". Beyonce wears those kinds of leotards too but compare her Instagram page to Mariah's. Beyonce's Instagram is exactly what Mariah's Instagram should channel. Classy and sexy yet elegant.

Never happens. Mariah and Whitney had a song to promote. Mariah and JLo should not even be mentioned in the same universe. JLo [censored] Puff Daddy who produced her first single and video story board. She's a harlot. Mariah Carey at 21 was a Grammy Award winning singer.

I wish it would have happened. They could have made it a funny skit like how she and Whitney did with them allegedly wearing the same dress (I believe it was the Emmy awards). This would have been a perfect opportunity to lay this pettiness to rest once and for all and show that you are better than what the media and non fans think. Even if the sentiment behind accepting the job was fake, it would have been a great PR move. If it's true I'm not surprised Mariah and her team refused.

She's lipped so much I never believe when she hits any full voice belt notes anymore but if I'm wrong and that was all her, I hope she is able to turn it on for American television because for some reason, when she is performing at an awards show, a late night show or whatever, a fairy butterfly seems to get stuck in her throat during verses so she struggles and yet glittery angels and wizards backstage make her sound amazing on the high ad libs on the last hooks of her songs. This is probably why her last few American television appearances have been sit downs only. Imagine. A singer who does a sit down only.

I interrupt the regular scheduled program of negativity and Mariah bashing (not judging, just calling it as I see it) to continue the My All series/postings. Revealing Vegas promo pics, photo shop booties, bralettes, none of it really matters to me as much as Mariah working on her live vocals. Its her day job these days and should really be one of her only concerns regardless if she is standing there in some questionable outfit. Here is Mariah attempting to reach old notes by the 3rd day of the latest leg. Resting her voice was never what she needed. She needed to get out there and perform consistently.

MTV (65,745)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

Can someone explain what I've been reading about MTV wanting to have JLo and Mariah present some award together? Was it for the VMAs? Apparently JLo's team was down with it but Mariah refused. I think they should just go ahead and squash this beef. I mean Mariah has nothing to lose, in fact despite the JLo issue, Mariah still managed to get a hugely successful career. Everyone will forever know Mariah is the legend, so if I was Mariah, I'd just be like let's do this. Had Mariah been unable to make a comeback after "Glitter", I'd understand the resentment. But Mariah, you came back bigger and greater. You have nothing to lose from this. In fact it might get her even more positive press. But ya I still need an explanation on this MTV thing. I didn't understand what it's about. I just read about it on UKMix.
