I put down "Got to be there", not "I'll be there". They are two different songs.

Article: Mariah Carey's brother says she abandoned family (65,798)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|

Sounds like Morgan wants Mariah to do more than he is willing to do. Why didn't he coordinate a trust when she had her inheritance or all the money Mariah has given her. Alison has medicaid and other means to cover her medical care, but if she won't stay in treatment or if she is addicted to sex and danger, she can never be helped. Besides, she has grown children who have the means to help her if they so desire. Alison needs to first help herself and stop trying to pull Mariah into the mire. Mariah does seem to be about self-preservation, which is understandable when it is hard for her to trust anyone.

Not sure what I did wrong, but I was trying to say that "Human Nature" would be great to cover and that she has already done "I'll Be There". [Webmaster: Names should start with a capital, so it's Bobby McFerrin and not bobby mcferrin. The same with songtitles. It's Human Nature or "Human nature" and not human nature.]

I don't understand why she spent that much money on a video for such a wack track. I think she was counting on Pharrell being at his peak then, or she thought it was good enough. The label was smart to put her back in studio with Jermaine, especially for the topper [...]. Pharrell got lucky with [...], a fluke like the old [...] by [...] from back in the day. Somehow I doubt if happy could have been sent back in time those ten years before, that MC would not have agreed to do it, but we will never know.

That's one way to interpret it. I saw it as she may have been a little over the top difficult. I saw it as a statement of shade on both of them. Marriage is communication and commitment of both parties. But yeah he may not have known what to do with someone like her, but now she has become someone unlike she was. That will be difficult for anyone. But anyway.

I hope so. If not I hope she continues touring or has James build her her own casino.

"Do you think of me" is very rooted in jazz when you think about it. Okay, it is more RnB/Pop but the vocals are very jazzy as well as the horns in the bridge

Michael Jackson cover (65,790)

I hope before Mariah retires she does a song cover from Michael Jackson. I've always thought she would have killed "Got to be there" and "Man in the mirror". She definitely should cover "You are not alone".

Will Mariah extend her Vegas residency? (65,786)
by Mirage from Unicornatopia

Does anyone think Mariah will extend her Vegas residency? It would be great if she did, perhaps with a new show and single to accompany it. Vegas has done a lot to improve the public's perception of her talent, and her ability to perform. She is more natural on stage than she has been in some time. She also displays more show-womanship. It's good to see the voice do better too. Vegas has forced her to take care of the voice, I suspect. It is not at 90s quality, but credit where it is due, it is much better.

Number one: Definitely "The wind" this song is pure jazz. "If it's over" and "Subtle Invitation" are although very jazz influenced.

For the fans/lambs that would love to see MC really acting in a movie, what would be the role/character that you would want her playing? I'd want to see her play a drug addict.

I believe she has a few jazz influenced songs, but the main one that stands out for me would be "Subtle Invitation", which is one of my favorites off that album.

That was a nice interview, thank you. I like that she didn't shade anyone and still kept it real, especially with Madonna. I enjoy both of their music in different ways and it's good to hear that she respects and recognizes what Madonna has done for music. If you know where I can find an interview with Madonna saying good things about her as well, I'd love to see that too.

Thank you RJJ12, for always posting good videos. I really appreciate them and it's pretty obvious she's singing My All. I'm happy she still performs. I'm all about the music. As for the image she projects, honestly I think there's a big difference between accepting what is when you have zero influence on something. Lol. That's not an excuse. You can't "intervention" anything when there isn't a desire for it. It doesn't work. It is what it it. When I think of the pressure she must feel and the call for love that I know is underneath the external stuff, I feel compassion not judgement. *shrug*

No problem Licia. I love your posts by the way. One of my favorite people here. Do you go to thediaryofMariah page on YouTube? They have been documenting all her performances this year and post highlights of only the live parts. It's been nice to see her evolution from the February Vegas leg, to the tour, the June Leg, and this final one. Did you see this latest My All video? So good. Just get rid of the pre-records that come in the beginning of the last two choruses. No need for them anymore. Her live vocals sound so good here. The people are actually cheering for her here. When I went last year in July, everyone was quiet. I like how the guy at the end said "wow". Can you image if her singing this song would be televised? If she keeps taking care of her voice and sounding this good, we might just get one more great tv performance once she has new music. I'm so over her having these moments here because of her relying on pre-record moments.
