The fact you waste so much energy discussing why it's so terrible suggests to me that it's good enough to evoke conversation, even if you hate to admit it. Oakland concert (75,398) by Martyn from England, UK I've taken a sabbatical from work and I'm about to embark on a 2 month tour of the USA starting Wednesday. My last stop is San Fran in late July and I've noticed Mariah and Lionel's tour will be stopping at the Oracle Arena in Oakland whilst I'm there. From what I've seen it's not too far to travel, so I'd like to go, but it's a 20,000 seat arena and the only tickets that I can really afford are upper tier. Has anybody been to this venue before? And if so, is it worth me travelling or buying tickets or would it essentially be like watching a concert on a TV from home? Also, if anybody has any recommendations of things I should do whilst I'm over here it'd be greatly appreciated. Go through my posts, I'm always positive about Mariah, but I also don't think it's right to criticise Nigel after everything Mariah has said about Idol since her time on the show. If it helps, she looked the best she has in years during that era. Positive enough for you? It's quite clear from comments Mariah has made since that her nose was put out of joint by not being the only female on the panel (ridiculous) and although Nicki was her usual, abhorrent self, I think we all know that Mariah was the source of the initial beef. Mariah has claimed that working on Idol was the "worst experience of her life". Well it sounds like she's had a pretty good life to me. (Monday 3 April 2017; 14:12)

It always feels like minimal effort is put into everything she does nowadays, which is a shame. I'd love her to have the same drive she had back in the 90s, but I guess when you're 47, have two kids and have achieved such a gargantuan amount, there isn't as much motivation. Tevin Campbell (73,767) by Martyn from England, UK I was watching a live Mariah performance on YouTube a few weeks ago, and somebody mentioned in the comments that Mariah and Tevin Campbell were the best singers of the 90s. I'd never heard of him before and I checked him out. His music is so beautiful. I think he must've been bigger in the US than the UK, but his albums are sublime. My favourite type of Mariah songs are the haunting ones - Till The End Of Time, Everything Fades Away, Music Box, Vanishing, So Blessed, Petals etc. and in a modern day context, Camouflage (which I never noticed until 2014 is the most difficult word to spell ever ).
