Nothing in the video warrants a visit from CPS. It does beg the question why is Mariah Carey allowing such behavior? Surely she was unaware the Kardashian knockoff made and uploaded the video? Antics and stunts are starting to really disturb me. These antics are making Mariah Carey look like she's an incompetent mother which is unforgivable. Or at least a mother who leaves her children unsupervised.

Mariah on the supposed "streak". But your albums had just as many singles. Uh-uh. Nope. Look at it from the first album on. Like on my MTV Unplugged, which sold ten million, there was just "I'll Be There". I feel I did have more singles on some of those albums when people were like, "Oh, she's jumping R&B bandwagon", I said, I wish people would just listen to some of the other cuts on my albums that were never promoted. Then they would understand my favorite songs were songs that never got any light. Like? "Underneath The Stars" on Daydream is one of my favorite songs I've ever written. On the first album there's "Sent From Up Above" that was very R&B and that was never released. Too many for me to even name. Even with Butterfly, technically, only two singles were released: "Honey" and "My All". Do you have a say in all that stuff? Everybody swung it like I didn't want to put something out because I wouldn't accept less than a No. 1 Pop single. That's not even true. Like I didn't want to "break a streak". My streak was broken a long time ago. I don't even have a streak. I had five number ones, then I had records that didn't go to number one. Whatever. I wanted to put out "Breakdown" with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. That was a no-brainer. Release it. I'll always be upset "Breakdown" never got its shot. Is that personal to Mariah? Or is that label bullshit? I think that a lot of people - and I'm not saying anything personal to the label - have had these issues.

Video (66,495)

Gosh these people are so loud all the time haha. And laughing hard at Mishka randomly touching Mariah's hair (to get some of that superstar DNA on her hands) and Mimi just turning around to give her the look. Second time Mishka attacked Mariah's hair on camera, the first time when Mariah went like "don't burn my hair" during Stella's birthday when Mishka was holding those fiery things (what do you call it again?) near Mariah's hair. There is this other video of Roc and Roe, Sasha and this full grown woman (either Liana or Zarinab, I forget which is which because these 2 and Stella look alike) dancing on top of this restaurant table and they were loud and it jumping. Now I gather that this dancing on restaurant tables is apparently acceptable in Greece and that it's some kind of celebration (can someone confirm this?), in which case I guess it's alright, but ugh the video gave me a headache. They better not ruin Mariah's hearing after yelling so much near her, we need them ears to be in pip condition.

I don't believe Mariah can dictate how her albums are released. Def Jam publicly embarrassed her when she said in an interview that MIAM would be released digitally first as she wanted it to be heard as a "whole", only for Def Jam to release a statement shortly after that her album would get the traditional role out which just made it easy for people to illegally download it as it was available on different dates for different territories. I remember the album wasn't even out yet and my friend called to rub it in my face that they had the deluxe version in their iPod while I waited. I don't think she got a blue chip deal this time around with Sony. Per an article on this site at the time it was alleged she didn't get the advance she was asking for. I would rather her take a lower or no advance at all and in exchange for a say on a projects release or single choices.

New song (66,493)
by Alex from United States
| |
|
|
Hey lambs, I'm hoping someone can shed some light for me. When does Billboard start counting the sales for the next weeks charts? Could that be the reason the Empire song is being released on Friday, September 30? I want to download it as soon as possible. I just hope it will count towards the numbers the night of the show. If anyone has some knowledge they'd like to share I would appreciate it.

First it was "Stellho" releasing shady videos of Mariah and her backup dancers, now her baby leech is releasing videos of Mariah's children? Expect CPS to get involved again before the series. Just a prediction.

That was a great article about Glitter. That album, sorry, "soundtrack", is so underrated and features some of my most favourite MC songs. If We, Don't Stop, Lead The Way, Loverboy and Never Too Far are great songs. The video for Loverboy still remains one of my faves all these years later.

I love her sad songs too. "Close my eyes" and "Looking in" means everything to me. "I'm free" and "Everything fades away" are although healing in some way.

You are not alone, I'm here with you. Any new music from Mariah gets me excited. I'll try to stay calm though. I wonder why they decided to release the song ahead of her appearance though. As far as I know, it's usually released after the episode has been released although they do release some stuff earlier for promo. But come on, no one of Mariah's star level has ever been on Empire. Not even all the main casts combined is as famous as Mariah, so wouldn't they want to keep it under wraps for longer? But who knows, maybe it's a marketing tactic. We'll see. I just hope even if it's a ballad, it should have an uplifting chorus and signature Mariah ad-libs.

At the end of the day, Mariah loves to make R&B, and she is damn good at it. Expert even. So, the question for this particular reply is whether her favorite style of music has an audience in today's musical scene. I think the answer is yes, but it requires effort. VOL was absolutely nothing like what else was playing in that time. MC invented the singer/rapper colab when no one else was doing it. And she came out with the Song of the Century when the media said she was through. Market her well and the woman will sell.

Inspirational songs (66,481)

This may be strange, but I find my inspiration in some of Marian's saddest songs, particularly Close My Eyes, Looking In, and Breakdown. Life can be difficult, and I appreciate an artist that can reveal their pain. It gives me hope that the sun will shine another day.

It really got me excited in Terrence's remark about the song that "it touches the heart and feels like the first time you've ever seen Mariah Carey. It's that Mariah Carey." I felt more pumped up when he said that "it's that Mariah Carey" , well we will see that in September 30th. I hope Jussie doesn't ruined the song.

I talked about the grandeur of Lemonade on here when it first came out. Mariah doesn't have the cajones, nor can she keep a secret about a release. She has to be photographed in studio, or some sort of leak.

I really need someone to teach me how to download because I would like to help Mariah when her new single comes out. I miss the days when I can go and buy singles in the store. I also think that a lot of Mariah's fan base is older and don't know how to use a computer.

TTR for sure. Hero was during my high school year and my life circa 93/94 was less dramatic. I prefered All I've Ever Wanted instead. I was not desperate for a motivational song that time. But lately, I listen a lot to Hero, don't know why, maybe I am now desperate to motivate myself and my boring daily routine.
