Re: Caution opening show (88,219) (88,221)

I believe Mariah takes prednisone for her nodules when she tours. It's a steroid so it causes weight gain hence why after a tour she's very slim in the face. It makes you look bloated.
I thought she sounded great. But I think the stylist played it too safe like none of the outfits wowed me.

Caution opening show (88,219)
by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway

Wow. Mariah managed to surprise us all, I think, by putting together a setlist that is better than anyone could have managed. I think her voice is good, not splendid. But I would have been satisfied had I been there.
I really don't care about Mariah's weight usually, but when you are going on a world tour as a superstar, I wish she could have been disiplined and stick to a diet. But then again, she might need some mood stabelizing medication when she has to stay focused for a long time, and that kind medicine makes you really hungry. And I also felt Mariah was a bit down energywise, she seemed happy and contempt, but she could have had a bit more energy. If she loses ten to twenty pounds, she will be more flexible, like she was during the Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour, I felt she looked spectacular then.
Anyway, the outfits were great, the setlist superb, loved the songs from the Glitter album, and the light show suited the show really well. Think she will get good reviews

I'm a little miffed that The Distance isn't on the setlist. I could switch out With You, Hero, or A No No with The Distance.

I effing gagged at her doing I Didn't Mean To Turn You On. Her doing Glitter songs makes me as happy as her doing CB. I was so nervous, but now I can't wait for tomorrow. My only issue is that bootleg Bianca fight. Im going to make sure I have a drink by my side when that happens. It will be extra funny seeing it drunk. That was horrible. It looked like one of those Kung Fu movies where the words don't match the moving lips. Only her body didn't match whatever movements she was trying to do. I've been laughing watching the same clip for 30 minutes.

Wow what a great set list. Everything one could hope for. That she did "Anytime you need a friend" in concert was something I was wishing for since forever. And what a surprise with the Glitter medley. Mariah made everyone happy with this set list.

The alternate version of Mariah's 15th chart-topper, "Thank God I Found You" is essentially a remake of Keith Sweat's 1988 hit, "Make It Last Forever". Earlier remakes (e.g. Journey's "Open Arms") mostly appealed to pop listeners, but as the new millennium was approaching, Carey segued into covering lesser-known R&B classics. This DJ Clue-helmed track is one of the rare instances in Mimi's catalogue when the remix completely outshines the original production. That last sentence explains how TGIFY became Mariah's 15th #1 and why no one outside of the Lambily knows the original.

Wow. So so proud of the effort and the changes. You can tell Caution means a lot to her and when something is really close to her heart like Christmas is, boy does she fly. Yet to find one bad vocal clip and nothing looked totally lipped. Even if it was she did an awesome job with it and it was only the first night.

She had finally changed the set list exactly like I wanted. And on the other the side extra sad because my health can't take to a concert. Finally a non repetetive concert that gives me the will to go and see her perform live again. What an opening. Thank you YouTube and people who recorded the event. It made my morning. Enjoy guys. Love you.

MC brought it to Dallas last night. She sounded amazing. The setlist was everything and more that I wanted from this tour. She did Glitter justice for the Lambs. My gut feeling was right.

Going back in time (88,202)

I just heard a low-quality rehearsal audio on YouTube of Mariah singing Anytime You Need A Friend for the Caution tour. And while I'm realistic to know her voice isn't the same, damn. She's madly. Let's put it this way. I miss her from '96. But this is else.

Mariah should've won every Grammy she was nominated for in 96 and 06. How she lost almost every female vocal performance Grammy she was nominated for in her prime was insane. She was untouchable in her prime and again ten years later in 2005 until 2009.

I'm excited for the setlist and I also wonder if there are some surprises. I always love the openers of her concerts. Just one day left and we will know more. I wish all the US fans who are going to one of her concerts a great time.

Mariah should've won the Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for Mine Again. She should've also won Song and Record of the Year for We Belong To but that's besides the point, lol.
