Re: No vocal audit (92,834) (92,876) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
It is typical of delusional people here to completely ignore the point, to try to make it about something else and ridicule it. That's one's called Argumentum ad absurdum and is also the reserve of the galactically stupid.

Repeat all you like that you would not buy a ticket to my show. It's a good job, really, as security would be stopping whackjobs from coming in so you would have wasted your money.

Whilst on stage I plan on standing still, singing a few low notes and then lip syncing everything above normal speaking range and anything with a sustained note. More's the pity, sounds like you would have enjoyed it.

"I do mind when people become blatantly frustrated by their own shortcomings and project them onto people way above their own achievements."

Was that in reference to my post? If so, I came to terms with my injury and found a very rewarding job as a coach. The analogy I'd use there is MC coming to terms with where she's at vocally and perhaps instead focus on being a songwriter, or at least sing in her range she has (and Caution was a step in the right direction). It's almost as if Mariah is very gradually, with every album, toning it down so that she can eventually sing in her remaining range. But the lambs will keep baying for more whistles, more number ones, and more sales.

"Well here I am, for all of them to bleed".

Never a truer phrase ever sung by Mariah. Shame on you all.

As I said (92,873) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
As I said if Mariah is such a mess, and lost her touch why continue to support her? Again I am sure none of us are perfect all the time. Yes it is sad when she is not her best when we all know what she is capable of. However we can not change what has already been done. Touring as we know is a major way for many artists to make a living besides album sales, endorsements, and publishing. Personally I feel like MC should take some time away from the stage because she has been touring nonstop since 2014. I think that she has more than earned some down time after this Vegas run. But ultimately she has to make the best decision for herself.

Re: New Bond song (92,865) (92,872) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
I love Bond theme songs as well, if only for the reason that the franchise was able to curate a specific, instantly recognizable sound that can only be associated with the movie. I actually also appreciate Madonna's, because that was a time the franchise decided to deviate from their trademark sound. I always thought that if Mariah would make a a Bond song, it would be something that would be closer to my faves - Gladys Knight's License To Kill, Lani Hall's Never Say Never Again or Sheryl Crow's Tomorrow Never Dies. I love Garbage's The World Is Not Enough, Adele's Skyfall and the new one from Billie, but those also seem too dark for Mariah.

They probably asked her to in the '90s and Tommy probably vetoed it like he did her singing Where Are You Christmas.

I thought that Sam Smith James Bond song was just blah and boring. But this new James Bond song is even more zzz.

Re: Bill (92,850) (92,868) by Edward from USA
Some fans here don't care about Mariah at all, they care about the lies they tell themselves as if it repeating them long enough they would turn out to be true, they'd rather Mariah fall on her ass or keep making a fool of herself while their deluded selves scream "yasss queen, slay". I would prefer consistency than mediocrity. At some point, things will be so obvious that people will start walking out of her concerts like they did to Whitney. Mariah has to stop touring, is ruining what's left of her voice, and putting her on the spot. Whoever thinks she's slaying is completely delusional, and yes I said it, delusional. The constant stress she's putting on her voice is taking a huge toll on it.

I don't mind opinions. I do mind when people become blatantly frustrated by their own shortcomings and project them onto people way above their own achievements. We can all call out to Mariah, none of us comes into her league. Voice gone or not, she will always be a major part of music's history. We are hardly a whisper.

Mariah at Pride (92,866) by Lee from UK
I have my tickets and I'm excited. I hope she shows up and puts on a good show. Apparently she's doing a 75 minute set and I'm hoping there are minimal costume changes. Has Mariah ever headlined a pride event before?

New Bond song (92,865) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I love Bond songs (except the one with Madonna). I have just heard the new one. And I thought wouldn't it be cool, if Mariah will make a Bond theme song in the future? What do you think?

Tough question. But I also think it's too much risk. I would prefer to try a healthy lifestyle plus vocal training.

Difference of opinion (92,863) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I can respect another person's opinion that is different from mine. However if your main objective is to be negative, and disrespectful that I have an issue with. Yes we might not like things about MC but to keep harping on the same things that we cannot fix is pointless. At this point we have to either accept that Mariah and her voice has changed and still be supportive, or just move on entirely and support other artists who tickle your fancy. But you can still cherish the moments, and memories that made you a fan.

If an artist releases an album or several that disappoint me I move on. Why do you continue to follow her or come to a message board dedicated to her if you no longer like her or her music?

Of course, no one wants Mariah to be remembered for her bad performances but to constantly criticize her for the state of her voice or her decision to tour is exhausting.

Re: Rihanna and The Neptunes (92,846) (92,857) by Terna from Nigeria
Just hell no (all caps) Mariah should stay far far away from Pharrell and his dated sound. Those songs they churned out on TEOM were the wackest, weakest, sorry excuse for songs and a waste of space two other much better songs could have occupied.

Bill (92,851) (92,856) by ADAM from USA
Welcome back Andrew. I appreciate your posts on the board. I would much prefer MC just perform select shows and tour in support of the new album versus this over saturation of touring. She is killing her voice and legacy. The same boring setlist and stunts. She doesn't need the money. She was wonderful on the James Corden show. It was everything I needed and thought was lost. High confidence plus stellar live vocals. I want to remember her this way. I wish she'd be a studio rat again and only come out when the album is complete. The incessant touring and paparazzi staged photos are a drab. Beyonce excels in this area - she makes music and is seen only when she wants to. It's all curated and always excellence with her. Mariah used to be this way. She needs to return to her glory.

Watch Dreamlover from Caution world tour, she even gave us some extra notes. Just because your ears are still living in 96 doesn't mean the girl can't sing. People who actually goes [sic] to her shows are singing a different tune. Mariah is improving with every tour. She sang during her Christmas shows and slayed MSG last Christmas.

Will, as much as I would love for Mariah to have her "Daydream voice back" if she removed the nodules, it wouldn't be worth the risk.

O Holy Night (92,853) by Dove from United States
This wasn't that long ago and it sounds good to me. I'm sure regular people who don't study her performances as closely as fans can't even tell she's not singing on some parts. I think she knows what's best for her own life.

Re: Bill (92,851) (92,852) by Tevin from USA
I have to agree with Andrew's last post, as much as I love watching any new video of Mariah on tour, I do have to admit that I'd rather get just a few handful of good and solid performances wether televised or not from her than a bunch of bad or sub par performances (even if it's not her fault and simply boild down to her health or nodules or whatever). Nothing against her (because I know that touring nowadays is how artists make there money) but all hopefulness aside, the reality is, unless something changes in Mariah's health, vocal training, or vocal rest, things aren't going to get much better, and God forbid they get worse.

Re: Bill (92,850) (92,851) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
It's called Argumentum ad hominem - if you don't like what someone is saying, attack them for saying it, make the argument about them. It's a great deflecting tactic for the galactically stupid who have required cradling ever since mummy and daddy sllit up.

Mariah continuing to tour is unhealthy and bizarrr as it's not fooling anyone and its ruining what voice she has left. If anyone here actually loved Mariah's voice, they, too, would prefer a once-in-a-while good performance to day-in day-out bad ones. She is clearly struggling and the internet now filled with bad performances vs a couple of good ones. Is this how she wants to be remembered? Is this how anyone wants to remember her?
