Andrew, post a link on how you dress, I'm sure it's 100% worse.

Re: What career achievement makes you most proud? (93,072) (93,075) by Randy from USA
TBH my love for WBT has worn thin. When I listen to the instrumental it's the same chords over and over and the second verse is kinda cheesy to me now. However, if you ask me what my favorite achievement it is both that song hitting number one and lasting for fourteen weeks. Here's why. They said it was over for MC and even though ILY did better than anything on Glitter or Charmbracelet it wasn't a hit. WBT getting up there and staying up there was a feat after two commercial "flops". And then people wanted to say that OSD hit 16 weeks because Boyz II Men were on it. So WBT staying fourteen weeks at number one proved that she had chart dominance all by herself. So that's why that moment is probably my favorite career moment for MiMi.

Hair (93,074) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
The flat ironed hair looks shit. The hair at Billboard for the Icon Award was amazing.

Why does Mariah insist on straightened hair, clown make up and hideous outfits? Is she so lost as to think this looks good?

Summer 2008 was also the time of my life. E=MC2 is the best album because of that. Can't nobody can't nobody tell me nuttin'.

I broke up with my boyfriend December 2007 and got severly depressed that lasted for months. In april 2008 I was back on my feet again, and Mariah released Touch My Body. It went on to be her 18th #1, and suddenly she was everywhere in the media, and family members called me to congratulate me that Mariah had surpassed Elvis to be the solo artist with the most number 1's.

I bought E=MC2 and it became the soundtrack of summer 2008. Thinking of that time gives me such good feelings.

So I guess Mariah becoming queen of Billboard Hot 100 is the achievement I'm most proud of.

"Artist of the decade" for me was major. The whole event. The way she walked through the crowd, her energy, her speech. She was it.

Mariah slayed those high notes, and Monroe will be such a great actress.

Her entire career and her numerous achievements have yet to be surpassed and perhaps never will be.

What career achievement makes you most proud? (93,067) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
As fans of Mariah we have seen her overcome some major lows, and we have also been around to see her achieve some incredible milestones. But I have a question as a fan what career achievement are you must proud of.

90's Artist of the decade
00's Female artist of the millennium
10's Pop icon/Billboard icon
20's Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee

For me it would be a tie between the SWHOF, and the artist of the decade. But all of these achievements are special in their own way.

William, wait up. You don't *actually* log and rate everything you watch and read? Do you? You're kidding, right?

Re: Dreamlover (93,060) (93,062) by Bill from the UK
Yes, in Mariah's "Her Story" biography by Chris Nickson, it goes into some detail around Dreamlover and the original sessions and Walter wading it to make it more suitable for top 40 radio and give it that Summery bounce it has. Both iterations are good, but I have to give WA credit (I know we don't like doing that here ever since emblazonedgate). He did a great job of taking that song to another level and really lifting it up.

They're logged in my Excel workbook of life. I log every single film, book, TV series, album etc. that I watch and listen to and rate them accordingly. I need help I know. PS I was at the Daydream concert in London.

Dreamlover (93,060) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Check the credits, it was produced by Dave Jam Hall.

I stand corrected. They all 3 share producer credit. I have to say the hip pop balance in the production works very well. Big Daddy Kane was major in the late 80's/early 90's in hip hop, the sample of his song ain't no half stepping was definitely Mariah and Dave while Walter brought the more pop feel and sound.

Bill that is most definitely a "go big or go home" line-up. I do like how you went all out with the remixes. Also, I can't believe I completely overlooked the MSG concert in HD. I'm sure they have the masters to "Make It Happen".

You could actually call it Daydream (Deluxe "[censored] the Grammys" Edition) lol.

Re: Dreamlover (93,054) (93,058) by cBerr from Canada
Yes, I've also heard that the Bam Jam Soul was the original concept for Dreamlover but the "powers that be" tapped Walter to give it a pop makeover. I'd like to be mad about it, but both versions have their merits - and I'm only about 75% confident that during the early 90's the Bam Jam Soul (or original version) would have been a #1 hit.

Re: Slipping Away on IG (93,045) (93,057) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
I have a list; all the times I have seen Mariah Carey in person:

Rainbow Tour, London 2000
Dorchester Hotel, Glitter/Greatest Hits era
G-A-Y, London 2002 (think that's when it was)
So Graham Norton Show, London 2003
Charmbracelet Tour, London 2003
Dorchester Hotel, TEOM era*
Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour, London 2016
All I Want For Christmas Is You Tour, 2017

*Fun fact. I felt really unwell waiting for her that night. And we had to go to queue up through the night for entry into HMV the next afternoon to meet Mariah and have CD's signed. It was dark and rainy and the line was massive but nothing was going to stop me meeting her one-on-one. So I waited, for hours in the dark... and felt increasingly unwell. And I almost made it. I really did. Until around 8am someone called an ambulance and I was carted off to hospital and diagnosed with meningitis and told I was a couple of hours away from death.

So there's a fun story. Either you're thinking "Wow, he really does love Mariah." Or you're thinking, "If only that guy hadn't called that ambulance..."

Re: Dreamlover (93,053) (93,054) by Bill from the UK
Yes but Walter produced it and was specifically bought in to give it the gloss and much needed sheen the original was lacking.

Dreamlover (93,053) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Dreamlover was a collaboration with Dave Jam Hall not Walter. Dave is also the co producer of Fantasy as well as Slipping Away.
