Re: Andy Cohen (93,341) (93,350) by Chris from United States
Now this is getting interesting; there are folks on here who obsess about what color Mariah's farts are, who are talking politics, pointing fingers, placing blame, and continue with their hate parade (which can often be about Mariah herself). You know nothing about the inner workings of politics, and whatever you think you know is as good as what's in your toilet.

People need not focus on hate, rather they should be washing their hands and their emotions, because your personal hate and discord (which no one cares about) is only contributing to the fuel that's already been set on this world.

Mariah called David Foster "the maestro" (93,349) by T from USA
After seeing her reply to David Foster and never to Walter (although she did mention his name on that Amazon docu) I think I can finally see that the reunion will never be happening.

How would it be if she reconnected and worked with Foster for some future classics? If I would have to rate her ballad producers I would say:
1. Walter A
2. Big Jim Wright
3. Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis
4. Marc Shaiman
5. David Foster
6. Babyface
7. Randy Jackson
8. Daniel Moore

Re: Correct, you didn't think (93,345) (93,347) by Lighty from China
The fact that the virus first appeared in China is indeed, a fact. I never denied that. "But one thing is for sure: we should ban all flights from that country forever. And not trade one single grain of rice with them. Forever." is what I consider the part that's racist. If the first infected patient is a black person, and you say something like "we should ban all flights from taking black passengers", you know what you'll be facing with.

Re: I never thought (93,342) (93,346) by Tijl from Belgium
Nobody has said [censored] China. The reality is that the world is now suffering because of a virus that originates from that exact country. The consequences of Corona on the world will be devastating.

Correct, you didn't think (93,345) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Read this. And then take your attempt at collective victimhood and shouts of racism and do one. Something is very wrong in that part of the world and it keeps [censored] up the rest of it. Facts are not racist and they don't care about your feelings. However, as an individual, I hope, like I do everyone else, that you get through it. Because millions will not.

I'm so glad things are improving there. Thanks for the first hand warning and reminder to all of us to stay inside.

Don't wear princess gown at Grammy Awards (93,343) by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
Just my observation, if you wear princess kind of dress (big skirt) to the Grammy, you might get snubbed completely. Mariah wore one for her performance in 1996, she lost all her nominations. Rihanna lost all her nominations for Grammy 2017. Finally, Ariana joined the group for Grammy 2020. All of them have one similarity; they wore princess big gown kind of dress. Just for laughs. Don't take this seriously.

I never thought (93,342) by Lighty from China
That some of the most racist comments I'd ever read would show up here, on a messageboard of my favorite artist. I could just assume that most of you have never been to China, even once. You might think that Chinese culture allow people to kill wild animals and eat them, but all I can say is that before this virus became a thing, most Chinese people don't even know bats could be eaten. As of now, 3267 Chinese people died from this virus and we suffered much more than you could ever imagine. It really breaks my heart to see someone on this board would loudly shout out something like "[censored] China". But all I can say to everyone on this board is, please do stay at home as much as possible, I hope you all safe and sound. And to some certain people, the more you curse us, the more you're blessing us, but still, I wish you well.

Re: Andy Cohen (93,340) (93,341) by RibbonB from USA
Sadly people voted for a racist clown for president. What's even worse is corrupt Republican Senators voted to keep him when there was a perfect opportunity to be rid of him with impeachment. Now because of his greed and his stupidity we are less safe and I'll prepared for a pandemic. I hope he and his cronies lose it all, after getting arrested for insider trading. Trump'S delusional and dangerous, IMO.

Andy Cohen (93,340) by Bobby A from United States
Andy Cohen just announced that he has tested positive. I pray he makes a full recovery. Contacting this virus is much more than being close [to] someone. It has to be more easier to contract by just breathing the airspace where is living and growing. I really think our government really doesn't know how the virus is contracted. I wished we had a president who could have prepared us for this virus back in January. Americans spent two months not preparing believing our government had everything under control. In the state Georgia, we had 121 cases on Monday. On Friday, we have over 400 cases now and 14 deaths. Please stay safe everyone and protect yourself. This is really happening in the world.

Re: We're in this together (93,336) (93,339) by Tijl from Belgium
As President Macron said: "Certain consequences will follow and certain institutions have a lot of explaining to do."

To know that a Chinese scientist has been arrested and killed by his own government because he wanted to warn the world about the effects of this virus says it all.

The silver lining, however strange it may sound, is that this virus exposes everything that is wrong with our social structure and that people around the world will stand up. Our leaders are hardly capable of protecting us not to mention the many errors that have been made over the last months. We will rise from the ashes but we will have to fight for a different world. The current one has clearly reached its due date.

Re: We're in this together (93,334) (93,336) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Non Mariah related but j have to day I absolutely agree with your sentiments. The Chinese culture is far removed from what we would consider normality. Hacking away at exotic animals without hygienic practices and consuming the things when we have no immunity against what's inside them is frankly mental. (Someone sent me a video the other day of people being served live mice in a restaurant in China eating them live with forks.) That this Chinese Flu is yet another if not the most serious pandemic we will have faced because of one country's weirdness is not on. Business collapsing, mass unemployment, people will be homeless and starving and the end to modern civilization is near. Nothing is going to be the same ever again. But one thing is for sure: we should ban all flights from that country forever. And not trade one single grain of rice with them. Forever.

And they had the cheek to try to blame the Americans. The word probably won't get through the censorship here but - [censored] China.

Re: Hilton (93,328) (93,335) by T from USA
I agree but the magic happened between the two of them in a way Big Jim or Jimmy Jam never could. Sometimes people just connect and get each other. It's just a shame because who knows how many more classics could have been born in addition to the classic ballads she did with others (WBT, DFAU, TTR, TGIFY, Petals, You're Mine) after they broke up.

Re: We're in this together (93,332) (93,334) by Tijl from Belgium
That is exactly how our leaders reacted at first and a few weeks later we are in lockdown. If possible, warn your loved ones not to take this lightly. There is no need for panic or hoarding yet brace yourselves for a considerable period of social distancing.

The Chinese culture doesn't respect basic hygiene regulations. Animals are killed in market places with blood everywhere and people passing by and simply walking through it. Combine this with the government/communist dictators that force censorship regarding any communication that will put their system in a bad light and you have a recipe for disaster. This is the third serious virus that has its origins in China in a few decades. Let's face reality: the world is over populated and nature fights back. And nature always has the last laugh.

Re: We're in this together (93,332) (93,333) by Bobby A from United States
Hang in there Todd. No one saw this coming back in December with it spreaded so fast. This is the reason why we can not eat every animal and species on this earth. The Chinese culture has such exotic food tastes. This virus came from bats and they are nasty creatures. I pray things get better for everyone.

Re: We're in this together (93,327) (93,332) by Todd from Melbourne, Australia
In Australia, the government is more concerned with the economy and football than they are people's health and for the most part have buried their heads in the sand. If we were still able to travel, Scott Morrison would probably be in Hawaii.

Aretha - "When You Believe" (93,330) by Billy from Greece
I had no idea Aretha sang "When You Believe" live. Wow. Glad to know she was paying attention to Mariah's (and Whitney's in this case) work, having also sang "Hero" and "Touch My Body".

Hello Robert-Anthony. In Antwerp we are currently living under a "lockdown light", meaning we have to stay indoors as much as possible with the exception of getting groceries, a visit to a pharmacist or the bank. People are allowed to make a stroll but with a limited number of people if not more than two at once. It is a very bizarre situation especially when one lives on his own as is my case. Thank God for Netflix and my extensive dvd collection (which got scrutiny from my friends before but not any longer lol). Nobody knows how long this will last. I try to life day by day and not to overthink the situation too much. A shame I can't go to the gym to get my mind of things because at times I think I might go loopy. Bless everybody and take care.

Re: Hilton (93,302) (93,328) by Terna from Nigeria
You give Walter too much credit for that sound. That's Mariah's signature ballad sound even when she isn't the performing artist, nor have Walter playing or producing. "Through the Rain" is a very good example (had nothing to do with Walter) and more recently "The Art of Letting Go" and "Portrait". When I heard "Last Chance" by Allure I went "this sounds like a Mariah Carey song" and what do you know I was right.

How is everybody doing? I know our lives have drastically changed in one week here in the U.S. or months earlier for our MCA members in other parts of the world. Just checking on everybody. Take care of yourself and loved ones. Be strong and we will get through this pandemic. Peace, love, and blessings.

Slipping Away (93,326) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
My favourite Mariah song of all time is Always Be My Baby, but I actually think Slipping Away is the best song Mariah has ever recorded. Too bad it never hit the airwaves, it's brilliant.
