I questioned you because of your post. When I read a lot of the posts on this board I find myself wondering if some of you are fans. I'm not saying that to bash any of you, honestly. I'm here because I love Mariah. Always have, always will. I hated Memoirs and Triumphant but I didn't log on and talk about it daily.

Mariah late for Rockfeller (48,161)
by Luke from United Kingdom
| |
|
|
I'm not bashing Nick here because I don't know the guy but does anyone else get the feeling he may have caused Mariah to be late to Rockfeller? The timing seems to much of a coincidence. Whenever I read things about him it's almost like he's trying to big himself up and make himself seem like God's gift to the earth. Who knows? Mariah is known for being late in the past but I wonder if it's because she doesn't like being controlled by these TV executives like when she was younger.

Abraham, my point exactly. Even though Mariah is my favorite, there has been many other female singers before her with impressive catalogs, and some of those paved the way for her, and Mariah's acknowledged it. Diana Ross is a true diva, her presence alone is entertaining. I don't follow her music, but credit where is due. Justin, I can definitely agree to disagree, but I'm not OK when someone based on their guidelines questions my love or dedication to Mariah. You decided to pick the part of my statement about the concerts when that was clearly to illustrate my point, it wasn't the only nice thing I said about Mariah. If you told me you've been going to Mariah's concerts since you were six, and got straight A's to win that, I would think you are a dedicated fan. And about the decrease of her live performances, the facts can be accessed online, I don't see the harshness on stating the truth.

B, Justin and lambily / rumours (48,157)

What's the weirdest/funniest rumour(s) you've ever seen/heard online about Mariah? That time she married Nick Cannon after dating him only six weeks. It took me weeks of trolling MCArchives and Mariah Daily to realise it wasn't a practical joke or some behind the scenes leak from a romantic comedy, especially since I first heard it from friends who don't normally keep up with her goings on. Never mind that it all turned out to be true. It's still the #1 rumour I've ever heard about Mariah.

I support your post. What I got from it was that Mariah is a human being and we're not perfect. Super jealous of the amount of times you got to see her in concert by the way.

Mariah's voice and career is not over. She still has a lot to give and share with the world, musically. I have a feeling by her next album, she'll be back to the top. She knows she needs a hit. Her voice has improved, and I think she'll be fine. I hope everything goes good with the Christmas shows.

Diana Ross comes to mind. I love Mariah to death, but don't make her out to be the only female artist that has had an amazing voice, music catalog and career. Diana and Mariah are my 2 favorite female singers/divas of all time. They're in my opinion the only two female artists that have a great music catalog/body of work. You make it seem like Mariah has been the only female singer that has been an influence or on the charts.

Who cares how many times you've seen her in concert if you don't appreciate it? You're the one whose views of Mariah are stuck in some weird timewarp complete with distorted audio. I don't care what you call me as long as Mariah calls me lamb. Why is it such a sin to genuinely like Mariah and be proud, loyal fans? Some of us don't have to put in any effort at all for that to be obvious beyond a shadow of a doubt. When you can't ever say anything nice about Mariah without attaching some sort of negativy? If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck? It for sure isn't a lamb.

This isn't a competition of how many shows we have attended. I think I speak on behalf of all the lambs, that doesn't define how big a fan of Mariah you are. Your post just rang off as a little harsh "since then her live performances have decreased dramatically". That's why we are questioning you. 2013 saw some of the best Mariah vocals in the recent years. Example Jimmy Fallon, American Idol, New Years Eve, and GMA. So before you lose your mind over some stupid little argument, just realize it's not a fight worth fighting for sweetie.

What a voice in that clip. I can't say anything else than that. She's like the rest of us. Some days she sings better than others. She's human. About the "splashes": she's 44 years old and yes she like champagne. That doesn't mean that she's an alcoholic. I sometime drink prosecco, but I am so lucky that people don't record it on tape.

B, Justin / the heads of Mariah's fan committee (48,148)
by Marcus from Brazil
| |
|
|
B, Justin, who are you to question whether I'm a real fan or not? Out 199 shows Mariah has performed during her entire tour life, I've been to 35, yes, three and four times to the same concert, that's how much of a fan I am. When you've accomplished that, come again. Mariah has always been an inspiration to me, to the point that since I was 6 until I was 12 my parents flew me out of the country to see her, I had to pull straight A's at school to win that. It just irks me to see the delusion of some people when they act like religious/cult fanatics. Baby is always talking about Mariah as if she was a helpless idiot, and I simply don't like it. In his/her mind, anything negative in Mariah's life is somebody else's fault. Mariah has been victimized, but she also has made mistakes, and been a fighter. To come here and paint Mariah as this goddess is kind of creepy to me, especially when Baby's pulling facts off his/her behind. As for Ariana, when she's at the level of the divine 3, Mariah, Whitney and Celine, then I'll consider been a fan. I like her first album though.

Do you still beat your dead horse? (48,144)

Mariah is a great artist. We now have almost 25 years where she has wowed us with her musicality, year after year, never slowing down. No other singer songwriter of her calibre has been as prolific. No other vocalist of her generation has been as influential. No other diva has ruled as many charts or managed to reign over so many different genres, sometimes even simultaneously. But that's not why Mariah will be remembered. It's her persona that's really cemented her place in the pantheon. Her lyrics have uplifted millions of people and given them hope and faith in another day when they were down. Her music is timeless and her voice is so unique, any successful impressions of it don't exist. Mariah is also very charismatic and authentic. She's very easy to like. You'd have to have serious issues to go around trying to convince her lambs that she's some lost soul riddled with "problems". Get over yourselves. No one is buying it. Ask Eminem and Christina why.

Mariah's voice (48,143)

Idk what [...] talking about Marcus. But Mariah Carey in her worst will always slay all the current artists out there. She simply has [...] of this generation. She may not be the most popular artist but she definetly still has the voice. Idk if you checked out when she performed "The Elisove Chanteuse Show", but she had some killer vocal moments towards the end. I agree, do you like Mariah Carey? Or are you an Arianator sneaking their way onto this messageboard?

I think Mariah is going to slay this performance. After the Tokyo debacle and the media attention that night, she's going to sing live and slay. Her voice is in fine form, it improved with each night of the tour. Mariah will always top the chats every year this time of the year.

Both are playing Mariah's Christmas music and introducing a new generation to Mariah. I think Mariah's vocal peak or prime was 1994. Glad that these kids are getting to hear a real singer, who has written some of the greatest songs of all time.

My favorite Mariah ensemble (48,136)
by Dove from USA

If Mariah decided to pull a Albert Einstein/Mark Zuckerberg and wear the same thing everyday, I vote for this ensemble. She looks perfect IMO. I guess she did used to do that until people started complaining. She used to always wear little black dresses, jeans, jean shorts, and the white spaghetti strap tops. Remember in Cribs how she had a whole stack of them?

Baby, baby, one more time? (48,135)
by Marcus from Brazil
| |
|
|
Baby's delusion: "Mariah is in great shape vocally and always has been. The only difference is that the frequency of her live performances has increased magnanimously from her debut to now." If there were a cult called Mariah, you would definitely be a hardcore indoctrinated member. In your eyes, Mariah is a victim of all her circumstances, Nick, the media, her friends, her so called fans, her nodules. She is not responsible for anything, she's just been wronged. Mariah is definitely in good shape vocally, but to say great would be an overstatement. Up until 2000 she delivered 6, 9, 12 and 19 shows per tour respectively, with 2 and 3 years in between, how is that magnanimous? The Charmbracelet tour put her in great shape vocally because she delivered 69 shows, her biggest tour so far. Since then her live performances have decreased dramatically. Mariah is a human being with problems like the rest of us, she's not a goddess who can't do not wrong, she makes mistakes and goes through what most of us go through. Be realistic with your ranting if you want to be taken seriously.

This throwback gem is still one of my favorites by our Queen. American Idol contestant: "All I Want For Christmas is the best modern-day Christmas song." Nicki Minaj: "It sure was, wasn't it?" Mariah: "Still is, dahling. No. 1 last year. Seventeen years later, it's still No.1" Make that 20.

Mariah's voice is in better shape than Whitney's was. I'm not dissing Whitney, she's my second favorite singer of all time. If Mariah was an alcoholic like Whitney was, of course Whitney did cocaine and crack which is what ruined her voice. Mariah may drink but she's not an alcoholic. She's not stupid, she knows it would ruin her voice. She most likely drinks in moderation, taking her voice into consideration.

Mariah Carey blooper reel (48,132)
by Darryle from USA
| |
|
|
I just rewatched a video back from when Mariah was promoting #Beautiful. At one point she said "You make the beat go." Those are lines from Supernatural and the video was posted in July of 2013. I wonder how many songs that were originally supposed to be on the album made it to the album? So far Supernatural and YDKWTD were probably on the original album.
