In all honesty, even though it's believable that she might have altered her age on paper, I don't think it's her doing. Maybe it was just Sony's decision to do it. After all back then she was really young and really didn't have much idea about how show business worked.

You need a fan to run your social media account. A thirty something lamb that understands the Mariah Carey brand. I'm sure they gladly do it for free. A lamb would also give you honest feedback. You can clearly tell your social media accounts are being operated by a twelve year old. Honestly she's doing a horrible job.

None of us know how she is schooling them so all what you're saying is speculation. Plus a lot of people are now realising travelling is an amazing source of education compared to sitting in a grey classroom. I have first hand experience with this since my parents took to me to many different countries while growing up and I remember the things I learnt from those trips stuck with me more then things I'd learnt in school.

The last song I heard from Lionel was I Call It Love. The video stars Lionel's daughter Nicole Richie and Adam Rodriguez. It was released in 2006 when Richie was starring on The Simple Life and on the cover of every fashion magazine and gossip blog, column, and magazine. She was the reigning Hollywood It Girl and the darling of the fashionistas. Richie was the undeniable star of The Simple Life and she's now a successful author, fashion designer, and actress with a new tv series debuting in January. Here's the link.

I hope Mariah and Lionel perform Endless Love at every date as the centerpiece by either performing it during the middle of the concert or as the closing song. I love the original. However, Mariah's version with Luther is the best. I love Ms. Ross but the song is out or her range. Mariah effortlessly lifted that song to new heights with her impassioned vocal performance. They deserved the R&B Vocal Performance by a duo or group. Surely they were at least nominated, right? Right? Mariah in her prime was untouchable and unstoppable. She still is. Luther Vandross is one of the best male vocalist of our times (or of all time just like Mariah is the best female vocalist of all time). If you haven't listened to Lurther Vandross' Duets album, which features his Endless Love duet with Mariah, you should. You won't be sorry. His voice is a gift from God just like Mariah's is.

Stella forever defending/justifying her motherhood skills, you know something is wrong. Lately, Mariah have been doing the exact same thing. Very worrying if you ask me.

Are they ever going to school or what? I hate to say it but Mariah has turned their life upside down. From Asia, Australia, NY, LA, Ohio, Vegas, Calabasas, Europe vacations, Europe tour, China, Mexico, Hawaii and now a 3 month US tour and then back to Vegas. I'm all for working mothers but not at the expense of education and a stable life. Mariah is mostly concerned about her fake image, fake boyfriends, money, keeping Stella happy and showing her boobs. It's all about priorities and #1 on her list is sadly herself.

I doubt that, but either way one of them would have gone on first and I doubt it would have been Lionel. Plus, Mariah just postponed some of her Vegas dates and we see why now, in order to be on this tour with Lionel. Looks like he had it planned and he made the adjustment. He could have done it without her I am sure, or picked any number of other acts. Maybe it was good timing for her to consider joining him. Perhaps we will hear more of how this came to be though. As far as People article, it has been referred to for years, but no one can find the article itself.

All The Hits is Lionel's tour. He completed the European (and I think Oceania) leg of it in 2015. He's doing America this year. Therefore Mariah can't cede anything to him. It's his tour and she's the special guest. Lionel's last album was released in 2012 and it went Platinum in America and Canada and Gold in Australia. He is a well known and respected artist. On Lionel's IG, there's a pic of him performing at Key Arena in Seattle from 2014. In the picture, the venue looked huge but it also looked packed, so I googled the capacity and the arena holds 17,459 people. He's been in the music biz so long and he's still respected and people still want to hear him perform to that extent. That's a huge accomplishment. I think some Mariah fans need to have some humble pie instead of acting like Lionel is a nobody or not good enough or Mariah is better than him because there's no truth to any of that. This is a wonderful opportunity that Mariah has been given. I really and truly hope she doesn't squander it by showing up with her boobs hanging out.

Well Licia and anyone else so determined to believe Mariah isn't lying about her age, please read the webmaster's post; it doesn't get much clearer than that. You're expecting reasoned choices from somene who dresses like she's in the Bahamas while in NY and then complains about having a cold. So there you have it, Mariah will be turning 48 on March 27th.

You could have just said that she's taking a backseat out of respect without adding the part about it being a while since he's had a hit. Both are in a drought for hits. Lol. Anyway he still has a large following and his tour would be successful with or without Mariah. It's a great opportunity for both involved. Maybe Mariah's younger fans will learn what a great artist he is and his older fans will pay attention to Mariah again.

Personally, the age doesn't bother me, however Eric's explanation seems to make sense. You know how in stores they price things 19.99$ because in consumers' minds that somehow seems to be lower than having to pay $20, when really the difference is just 0.01, almost negligible. It's psychological pricing. So in show business, where age is everything, the question is that "it's just one year". It's more like "Oh she was from the 60's" instead of "she's from the 70's". So saying "from 60's" makes her sound older. Whereas the gap is just 1 year.

I think the reason for her not co-headlining the tour is that maybe until she isn't done with her Caesar's contract, she might not be able to headline a show in the States during. There might be a clause or something.

His Tuskegee album of a few years ago went number one on the Hot 200 and went platinum and made for a successful tour. Lionel is definitely the lead, but is sharing this with Mariah as his special guest, that title seems fitting IMO. Mariah should be able to learn quite a lot from her more senior veteran in the industry. Mariah might also consider his formula of duets on her top hits. That formula worked well for Lionel and top country artists. Plus, Lionel is a successful and seasoned touring legend with his years with the Commodores and as a solo artist. Mariah could learn a great deal having toured sporadically in comparison to someone like Lionel. This also gives Mariah the chance to get a "comeup" and share the bills in her tour, vs. being the headliner and footing most of them for lesser acts and acts that bring her no real value. She and Lionel should make a good show with hits galore between them.

Stella's employment crimes (69,885)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|
|
Let me just break down how silly and in a normal world, illegal some of Stella's stances are. 1. Making public negative comments about past employees. 2. Telling new hires that they cannot cry, or have a significant other. 3. Allowing/encouraging sexual harassment in the work place. The Bryan stunt could be perceived as SH by either party involved or by the others she employs, just witnessing what they may perceive as "favoritism". 4. Placing children with adults on a tour bus. Even if their mother was also going to be on the bus. 5. Having her child as social media manager should be a crime. I'm just highlighting this mess to show that she is either nuts, or just doesn't care about being believable or basic common sense. I know they do not work in a normal corporate world, but I am sure a lot of the employment laws apply to artists.

I couldn't agree more, I even called it idiotic in my review. Mariah has plenty of 12 year old fans, she has fans of all ages, but to assume that she should appeal to 12 year olds as a base, when she is 46 is lunacy. Not to mention she has to appeal to the parents of 12 year olds who can afford the makeup, concert tickets and record sales. Well they probably know how to steal music, but still. And MW, while cartoonish at times, is really more adult than anything. But this is from Stellar who has her 35 year old 12 year old hanging around with a woman decades her senior. Also, with a reality show, you want to appeal to that magic nugget demographic base of 18-49, so Stelly Stell is off base.

Mariah ceded top billing to Lionel Richie out of respect. She's coheadlining this tour and yet she allowed Lionel, who hasn't had a hit since the late 1980's (correct me if I'm wrong) and is now known as Nicole Richie's dad, to bill her as his special guest star. This is the humble Mariah we fell in love with and we've been asking for. This was one of the smartest moves she could have made at this stage in her career. This tour is going to be epic.

Mariah and Beyoncé (69,881)

I just hope this means that they are collaborating. Beyoncé must be one of that singers Mariah mentioned in Variety. Their kids looks great and cute, Roe looks like Mariah, Rocky really looks like Nick, and Blue of course looks like Jay Z (no shade haha) but with the "attitude" like her momma, she's so extra with that fan lol. These kids maybe played together while their mommies are planning for a fantastic duet.

He's an 80's artist who still has a rather large and diverse fan base. Yes they are older, but those people are a large part of Mariah's fan base that she lost. This could potentially be a great opportunity to remind those older fans why they initially fell in love with her music in the beginning of her career. As critical as I have been by of some of her recent business moves, I think this could be a good thing.

If anything, she sounded stupid by making that statement. Even people like Selena Gomez and Miley and Ariana and Justin are trying to steer away from 12 year old fans who want them to be Disney like and instead focus on a little older audience. Like late teens to mid 20s. Saying that a 47 year old woman is trying to appeal to 12 year old kids as her main audience and that's why Mishka is perfect is her just trying (and failing) to cover her behind up.

Ya Randy Jackson. Maybe she wasn't asking for advice, Randy probably just told her what he felt. She decided she doesn't wanna hear it. Good thing though, people (fans and casuals) are so busy getting annoyed at Stella that Mariah is really being the least of the divas on the show. 2 parts down 8 more to go. I'll have to agree with Special K and say that although the show isn't bad (and no I didn't expect it to be a train wreck because I knew Mariah was too self conscious to be completely real on camera), I did find myself getting bored mid way between both the shows. Maybe because there is so little about Mariah and so much about Molly, Mary Anne and Stella. Last episode had like 4-5 long scenes of Molly, I'd instead much prefer longer footage from the show. Or Mariah's rehearsals or even her just laying on her chaise long that have to watch Stella play games with Molly, Molly giving stupid interviews and Stella acting like she's the boss. Side Note: The Randy Jackson conversation wasn't an interview. Wendy brought it up during the Hot Topics section while talking about Mariah's World. She met him backstage at some event apparently.
