Re: The singles this era (88,333) (88,346)

Andrew, dahhhling, please keep in mind that Mariah is at a point in her life where she has absolutely nothing left to prove. She owns 5 Grammys, sold over 200 million records worldwide, has had 18 number one hits, performed all over the world and is hopefully hella busy counting all her blessings, because I know I would. Mariah has some rough years behind her and I think, that she just wants to have some fun in her life.
I can't imagine what it's like to be in this industry for 29 years, because I already get tired by watching her schedule. Mariah is that kinda woman, that can put on a Hollywood smile for the cameras, even there is a mess going on behind the scenes. Also remember she turns 49, even we aren't counting numbers, this isn't an easy age for any woman out there. She is touring, putting out new music, serving some good looks lately and still some lambs aren't happy about it.
Yes, I'm not a big fan of her new material, that's no secret. But I appreciate the fact, that she is performing some old songs within this tour, while sounding pretty good singing them.
Mariah had some fantastic fan moments in the past few month and to be honest, I don't know any other superstar like her, who is always so kind towards her fans and showing them so much love.
At this point, I'm very proud of her, because we already lost MJ, George Michael, Prince, Whitney, Amy Winehouse and many other singers way too soon. We all should be happy that Mimi is still alive and she is doing fine.
She will never be the same Mariah she was 20 years ago, which is totally fine to me, because I can always listen to the songs of my KWEEN of the 90's and sing the hell out of them, while moisturizing my slender physique.
Mariah is trying to deliver and if you didn't receive her delivery yet, my sweetheart, let her go. I know you want her to succeed, like most of us want her to succeed, but negativity isn't the key to success. I'm sending you some positive vibes, Andrew.

A No No - Cardi B (88,344)

I m pretty sure Cardi is featured in the video. If you look at that clip which leaked around the time the music video was shot and compare it to the teaser Mariah has posted, it's the same set and the same lighting.

Many here welcomed Andrew back. I for one, get's another reminder of how negative this board becomes with the arrival of the lost son. I'm taking a break from this board, not going to read endless rants about how bad Mariah is at her work.

Notice that no featured artist are mentioned in the teaser video? I think those denials were intentional. Those denials created interest and hype.

Clearly A No No is not being pulled. Feels like she's giving me a birthday present with that video. And the snippet looks hot. I'd use a lot of exclamation marks but Eric won't send 'em through. Not a remix but it'll do.

Come on, let's all pop our honesty hats on for a day. Is anyone really surprised that the rollout of Caution was a mess? With every disappointment comes a rewriting of the narrative by the usual suspects to state that actually, nuh-uh, it was always how it was meant to be and, in that, it was, thus, a total success. The album itself is what nobody asked for musically but got anyway. The videos are cinematically alright but boring in content and will not attract different demographics. The so-called "dropping" of the singles was sporadic and without the necessary fanfare. And now there's a Caution Tour which is showcasing songs that were never going to translate well to the live stage. Except for With You. That song is actually brilliant. I didn't take to it at first, and I still think the lyrics could be a lot more mature in places. But I still listen to that song every day and find myself singing it randomly through the weeks. But it is and was never enough to save a project that is pretty underwhelming, no matter how "cohesive" the "body of work" is - which, whilst objectively true, doesn't really matter in the long run if nobody but the critics like it. There's always a next time and perhaps on the next album Mariah will finally move on from repeating the same mistakes. But before everyone takes off their honesty hats, how likely do you think that actually will be?

The announcement from Epic only said that A No No was being serviced to R&B and Hip-hop radio on March 4th and that they were going to continue to promote With You at Adult Contemporary and Adult R&B radio.

I don't understand how A No No could be pulled. We know for sure that they shot a music video in 4 days, that costs a lot of money, why wouldn't they release it ?

Hope they release "Caution" as her next single (88,327)
by MC1989 from Spain
| |
|

I hope they release "Caution" instead of "A No No". "Caution" has got an infectious melody and could be a radio hit. She needs to put out a good video and send the song not only to the US radio stations. I don't hear a new release from MC in Spanish radio stations since Touch My Body. I love the idea of releasing Caution and then Giving Me Life with a storyline as she did back in the day. They could use famous actors to appear in the video, as in ILT/WBT. For example Timothée Chalamet (the aclaimed actor of "Call Me By Your Name"), who recently said he loves "Giving Me Life" and called Mariah a "legend" in a French TV Program.
This album has so many songs and all of them could be released as singles. I don't care that much about the charts, but I would like her to put out more singles and videos from this amazing album. Just for the fans. Making a good video isn't that expensive so I hope they listen to us.

If this is true, I hope Mariah releases "Caution" with a video that has a story to be continued... on to "Giving Me Life" like ILT to WBT. She can release ANN along with "Stay Long Love You" later on.
