She sustained serious injuries while filming the remix music video for her single Beautiful in the summer of 2013. And Mariah Carey revealed that she still bears the scars from her injury as she was pictured leaving the 27th Annual New York GLAAD Media Awards. The 46-year-old was seen making her way out into her waiting car and gave a clear glimpse of the large scar on her right elbow.
The singer was being escorted out of the building after being presented the Ally Award at the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation ceremony when she revealed the rarely seen scar. In October of 2013 she revealed to Extra that she had originally downplayed her injury, saying: "I dislocated my shoulder, my ribs. There was nerve damage. It was very serious and I downplayed the seriousness of the situation."
Mariah has been spotted consistently sporting her sling and/or brace, in the years since her frightening fall. Meanwhile, the Heartbreaker hitmaker was among the best dressed on the night as she and actress Laverne Cox set the style bar sky high at the event.
