When two red carpet divas collide, everyone steps up their fashion games. Mariah Carey and Laverne Cox set the style bar very high at the 27th Annual New York GLAAD Media Awards. As Los Angeles had already thrown the West Coast installment of the ceremony earlier this year, the stars made sure that the East Coast red carpet shined just as bright on Saturday. And they kept their awards game strong by having surprise guest Jennifer Lawrence turn up to honor her fired Robert De Niro - or as she calls him, "Bob".
Of course Mariah, who received the Ally Award at the event, was fashionably late but that may have been because she busy ensuring she was absolute red carpet perfection. The 46-year-old singer stepped out from her Tribeca apartment glowing - literally. For the big night, the Always Be My Baby songstress wore a sheer skin tight gown with just glistening jewels and a pair of barely-there nude knickers stopping her private parts becoming far less private.
The nude dress featured a circular pattern created by tiny crystals which caught the light as she made a dash to her waiting car. As if the dress' sheerness was not sexy enough, the floor length sleeveless dress also featured a sheer panel which gave the illusion of a plunging neckline highlighting her ample cleavage.
Clearly the mother of two has been really dedicating herself to her pre-wedding diet - she is set to marry Australia's richest man James Packer - as she looked toned and trim. Mariah seemed in a very happy mood and did not look the least bit tired despite the fact she has just wrapped her European tour.

Adding the glamour, the pop star wore her golden blonde locks out with big curls on the end which she did her best to protect from the rain. Even with the weather not cooperating and her lateness, Mariah still managed to have her moment on the red carpet.
Joining her was her husband-to-be James, who stood in the wings as his love showed off her fantastic dress. He did step up on to the carpet after she had shown off every angle for a quick picture with his beloved.
