Program note: Behind the scenes of Mariah Carey's new reality show, the role of diva is being played by her stylist, says set sources. The E! channel's eight-part series "Mariah's World" follows the singer around the world as she performs on tour and prepares for her wedding to billionaire James Packer. Much to the surprise of sources on set, the notoriously temperamental Carey has been fantastic while her dresser has been making demands.
"Everything has been delayed because they shot (footage for) the first couple episodes with her stylist Wilfredo Rosado, but he's holding up everything right now," we're told. "He's a bigger diva that she is. He's saying he won't sign his contract because the show could hurt his 'brand', but he's already agreed to it verbally. He's saying that he wants his face blurred out of what's already been shot."
Our insider says that because of Carey's difficult reputation, if there's any trouble getting the show done on time, the show's star will catch the blame. "Mariah's been on time every day, she's been great. It's him being a pain," we're told. "E! is worried because if things get delayed, everyone is going to assume it's her fault again."
Reps for E!, Rosado and the show’s production company did not respond to our requests for comment.
