The song was liked far and wide, the video was constantly appearing on television for obvious reasons, and whenever I heard or hear it, people sing along with the chorus for they know it and like it. Here, on the Balkan, I am looked as a freak when I start talking about her and her recent work (like Caution) because they all think that she stopped recording after Daydream album. They all know Ken Lee (yeah, they actually remember that) and AIWFCIY and basically nothing else. Of course, I am not talking about gay guys and hardcore fans who follow her. Which is a small number here. I follow her since day one but for me, I started to appreciate her more after Butterfly album. Congratulations (104,525) by Nikki from usa Don't mind them. A lot of people here are actually Celine Dion or Madonna fans that also like Mariah's 1993 work and they're upset she deviated from it. We will never hear the end of it. You can tell who they are because every gossip about Mariah that is negative they will believe as unquestioned truth and anything positive requires a receipt. They can't tell if she's singing live, singing with a track, or lip syncing. They just assume if she sounds bad it's live and everything else is trickery. There are a lot of gay people here and they get really upset about that topic for some reason, but you are not the only straight man here. RATCT: 41.3 million streams (up 18%), 20.5 million radio airplay (down 1%) and 6,000 downloads (up 109%) AIWFCIY: 38.5 million streamsn(up 19%), 24.1 million radio and airplay (up 12%) and 5,000 downloads/sales (up 29%) While RATCT has 2.9 million streams more than AIFCIY, the latter has 3.6 millions radio airplay more than RATCT. Brenda airplay is already decreasing while Mariah's keep going up. AIWFCIY will definitely be number one by Christmas day. Brenda's numbers will deflate faster after Christmas. MC, Ariana and JHud (104,507) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Not sure if anyone discussed this yet (didn't get to catch up) but when I heard she brought out Ariana (who's been in hiding for years) I was super excited. Side note I think Mariah and Ariana should collaborate on a non Christmas song along the lines of "Touch my body", their voices complement each other. Ok back to the topic, why was Mariah so stiff? Like Ariana was skipping around dancing and enjoying, JHud was moving around but Mariah just looked like she was pinned to one location and wouldn't move. I see this a lot in her appearances. This was an upbeat song and you'd think they'd probably even try to recreate the video choreo, or if there wasn't enough time just walk around. But she was locked in position and looked like she was reading off instructions on a monitor or something. Sometimes she just clear gives up the pretence and lets the pre-record play. I will say this, also: Mariah is possibly on some serious medication for, even during the J-Hud and Ariana performance, she's having to read the auto-cue or cue-cards by the monitors. I don´t understand (104,165) by Zachariah from Croatia But isn't she doing very well with live performances now? From what I can hear from her Christmas tour, vocals are on point. More than that. And yes, I am one of those who will say "yass queen" because it is exactly that, yass. Queen. Being 33 years in the industry and her career behind her - there is literally nothing from her to bring us down. Only positivity and music to focus on forward. I am not a Madonna fan but I have a huge respect for her work and her stage presence. She moves. She puts an afford. And I hate my brain sometimes because I would still rather pay to see Mariah, standing and singing party live, party not, instead seeing Madonna who is doing her maximum. Mariah, please be ready (104,008) by Andrew from the UK I don't know how much money Mariah makes from royalties each year but it's surely got to be around the US$50m mark? I can appreciate the "rug pulled from under you" theory - but it's so unlikely as to be an impossibility. I cannot now see, at this age, and with the experience she has, why Mariah cannot lower the keys of the songs, sing them, and move around the stage once more. Madonna is ten years older than Mariah, recently got out of hospital, clearly still has an injury to her leg, and still is still delivering a reasonable energised and effective show (although there's a lot of criticism of a different nature that can be levelled at that artist). I have always said that I think Mariah's weight, and ever expanding breasts, have negatively impacted her movement and her singing - if she cared about her fans she would do something about it. She would lower the keys of her songs, put on a pair of pants, move about the stage again and have actual fun rather than looking like a (rein)deer in headlights.
