"The things I see posted on this site daily make me want to scream into a pillow" is exactly what I think people think when they read my frivolous posts. Lol. But I knew you were being sarcastic about the other stuff.

Dear Dove, I hope you know I was being sarcastic. Your posts are lovely. Mariah's boobs have been out the closet for ages, she's stated so herself.

Just one more. Her natural body is more athletic like Cindy Crawford. She didn't have much of a waist before and now she does. Even when she was really skinny she didn't have a super defined waist. They have lipo that makes your waist more defined. If she did that it was money well spent because clothes look better (in my opinion) when a woman has an hourglass shape.
Also, around 45 jowls start appearing and they're not as easy to disappear as the lines on your forehead and between your eyebrows. She had them a few years ago and now she doesn't.
I'm really not shaming. I'm sorry if it sounds like I am.

How do you know that she had work done? Because, for example, I can (like others as well) see that Demi indeed had work done. With Mariah - I can't see that. Please explain.

The things I see posted on this site daily make me want to scream into a pillow, but I hold back, because I just know some of you would turn around and say I'm being dramatic from watching too many Latin soap operas. Some of you speak with so much confidence, yet you're loud and wrong, and all I can do is sit there in stunned silence. The urge to jump in and reprimand a few of you is very real, but instead, I just let a couple of dramatic tears fall and softly whisper "Cry." like it's the final scene of "Marimar", my favorite "Telenovela" from the 90s.
You all really need to stop shaming Mariah. Only a handful of men, maybe ten, tops, have ever had the honor of touching her boobs, and not a single one of them was a surgeon. A woman? Maybe, but I doubt it. We've all known for decades that the iconic lift her boobs have experienced comes from industrial-strength push-up bras she's been rocking since the Rainbow era. This isn't breaking news, duh.
As for her face, it moves, just not in public. She's not risking getting caught in a bad angle, so she keeps it locked in diva mode anytime there's a camera around.
Remember Mariah is multiracial, that little hint of Asian in her eyes is probably some distant Latin ancestor or something, we do have a little Asian ancestry in Latin America too.
In short, she hasn't had any work done. That's just what jealousy looks like from the outside.

For sure she had her breasts done. If you look at pictures from 20 years ago and today, there is no way her body would change that drastically with only diet and exercise. I wasn't shaming.

I was thinking about Mariah Carey and how she still looks really young. I'm approaching that age where women start "needing" to get injectables and I'm trying to decide what kind of woman I'm going to be. Then I started thinking about famous women who are choosing to age naturally.
I saw some pictures of Pamela Anderson and I thought she was still really beautiful. Drew Barrymore, Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Silverstone. They're all still really beautiful. Then I thought, "They're lying to us, we don't need that stuff."
Then I thought about Demi Moore and Mariah Carey who have had work done and they're really beautiful too, just in a different way.
I think a big reason to want to look younger is if you're trying to attract a younger man. I feel like someone would still be attracted to an older woman who looks her age, though. Do all men prefer younger women? Pamela Anderson still got a man and he seems to really like her.
I've always been okay with lasers and chemical peels but injectables kind of scare me because if they're not done right they can make a person look worse.
I'm glad Mariah is looking her best for this era but it must be so much pressure. I wouldn't mind if she started aging after this era. Not that my opinion matters but I was thinking about how people notice famous people's (and everyone's) appearance.
I think a person's personality has a lot to do with their beauty too. There are some celebrities (and regular people) who are so ugly on the inside that nothing could make them beautiful no matter how they look on the outside.

This person uploaded a few videos. I love the purple outfit with the silver boots the most. I like what's going on in the background with the stars. She sounds really good too. IMO. I'm a little jealous of the people who got to go to this.

I'm sure some of you think I'm an old crow, but she should stick to what she knows, and that is music. She's not a good actress, and doesn't know how to express different feelings or what ever in movies. That's at least my honest opinion. Love MC but acting is not her cup of tea.

Streaming numbers (110,288)

We often joke about Migrate and the lack of support of that song. I was going through a list over Mariah's most streamed songs and realised that [It's like that] has only around 250k spins/streams on Spotify. Migrate has 5,3 million and what's really shocking is that that horrible song Infinity has more than 16 millions. Yes I know that both ILT and Migrate were released before the streaming took over, but 16 millions? #justiceforITL

Jennifer Lopez (110,282)
by Dove from United States
| |
|
|
I see so many articles putting Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez in the same sentence. Just because they're both fire signs and are about the same age and both have twins and have rappers in their songs. They're completely different types of entertainers. I doubt MC cares so I think they do it to troll fans. It works because I get annoyed every time I see it. It's like comparing a diamond to cubic zirconia. And I know Mariah's voice is not the same right now, like it was, but the quality of what she already gifted the world is top tier. No one even comes close. I don't like when people try to make it seem like it is. Even if Sugar Sweet is shallow, The Wind still exists.

Sugar Sweet TikTok video (110,259)
by Dove from United States
| |
|
|
I think she just had fresh veneers put in and that's why her mouth is moving strangely. It doesn't look like she has filler, just Botox. It's actually really well done. Those looks and slow movements of her face could probably be the result of some kind of medication.
Also, ever since Heartbreaker they've done a really strange slow motion editing to her videos. I don't know the purpose and it's always bugged me.
I'm just speculating about the Botox and filler. I just know a lot of people who get it and hers looks pretty good.
Even on Jimmy Kimmel she looked really good. I don't know any 50 year old that looks that good in real life. (Well, just one but she's Japanese and she had a face lift.) To me, she's still one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen.

Shot voice (110,245)
by Dove from United States
| |
|
|
Brian Wilson still performed into old age, even with a shot voice, and his fans would still come see him. I think she can do it for as long as she's comfortable but I put myself in that spot and I'm not that brave. That's why I get nervous for her. But apparently I've been harsher on her than the general public. I asked my coworker if she liked the new Mariah song on the radio (the coworker who sent me the picture of the little screen in her car) and she said she did. She's young too, I think she turned 24 this year. She would tell me if she didn't like it, she's really blunt.

I often wonder has she had vocal surgery and this is the result of it. I was listening to I Don't a couple of days ago, and whilst it might not be some people's favourite (I like the song just the video is a no no for me), she's actually singing on it and sounds good, and that was only 2017. Something serious has happened in that time, either personal or vocal surgery gone wrong.

Sugar Sweet YouTube reviews (110,236)
by Dove from United States
| |
|
|
I just spent the last hour watching YouTube reviews on Sugar Sweet and all the ones I've watched so far seem to love the song. So maybe I'm wrong. Also, I found my Bose speaker and I can hear the boom more on that speaker.
People were saying the high parts (that I think sound strained) sounded "raw" and they love it. I guess we'll see how it does. All the reviewers I watched I didn't know, I just searched "Sugar Sweet" reviews and followed the trail.

I'm trying to make "fetch" happen (110,234)
by Dove from United States

I know nobody liked my idea but I'm going to say it again because I think it's a good idea. One of the songs should start out with that clip of her saying "Imma do the best I can with what I got." Then it should move into an intro like Ghetto Superstar and the song should have a strong beat and guitar riff like that song too. It would be funny.

Going out with a bang (110,232)
by Dove from United States
| |
|
|
I know it doesn't matter, but I kind of do want to see Mariah at the top again. I want people to discover her back catalog and love her music as much as I do. With how long she takes between projects now, this might be her last album (like Edward said) and I selfishly want her to go out with a bang.
I wouldn't mind if she has to over-engineer songs now, as long as they sound good. I also listened to the songs Bobby A listed, where they're riding the beat, and I like that idea too.
I know The Beatles were only together for 10 years, and they milked those albums forever, but their songs were easy to sing - nobody can sing Mariah like Mariah. So people covering her songs wouldn't help her.
I like the idea of the mini series that was mentioned in the last article. Hopefully they do it justice.

The cars that go boom. (110,224)
by Dove from United States
| |
|
|
I was watching old videos trying to find some old school songs with booming bass sounds. I came across Sir Mix-A-Lot, Baby Got Back. It unlocked a core memory you guys might appreciate.
When I was in 5th grade I tried out for the school talent show. I tried out to Baby Got Back. Not just the dance. I rapped and danced the whole thing. I bought a pirated cassette with just the instrumental track at the swap meet.
I remember the two teachers let me finish the whole thing and they were trying not to laugh the whole time. When I was done they told me I could not perform that song because it wasn't appropriate.
I was just listening to the lyrics and I did not know what I was singing. I just thought it sounded so good. I remember I would practice in our yard and my mom wouldn't say anything because she didn't speak English. I would put on a whole show for her. Lol.
That's the kind of dance song I'm craving. Or the one about the cars that go boom.
(I'm sorry I'm spamming the board. I'm on a two week vacation and I'm bored. I go back to work tomorrow so my posts will be less.)

Wishful thinking (110,221)
by Dove from United States
| |
|
|
I don't know. We need a viral moment. She should hire Roseanne to write some skits for her social media.
Also, Sugar Sweet needs to be re-sung just by herself. There needs to be a remix with a harder beat that will bump in the car. Or maybe a strong bass guitar riff.
I'm sorry but her voice sounds frail and thin and it's not pleasant to listen to. I know she can sound better.. We need to up the humidifiers or something. (No shade because even at her worst she sounds better than I did at my best.) Her voice sounds better on Type: Dangerous. But SS is a good song too. It just needs work IMO.
For the video she should just hire people for it. Or put it in a scary movie. Like, the movie can start all nice and carefree with this song before the scary stuff happens. I don't think Taylor Swift was in the video for All Too Well at all and that's one of her best videos. Or Everything Has Changed.
I remember when I was in 7th grade I was in choir. We would have fundraising car washes. Our advisor was a "cool" young guy so we always had it on a corner of a busy and popular street. It was the parking lot of a store that sold stuff for cars, like rims and stereo systems - stuff like that. There was a Burger King across the street and we would all walk there for our break. Across from Burger King was another car parts store, O'Reillys and a grocery store. It was a busy street on a sunny Saturday.
I vividly remember the cool/nice cars would have really loud stereo systems and they would be bumping Fantasy by Mariah Carey. Some of the girls would wear bathing suit tops and use it as an opportunity to tan. We were in 7th grade so we had little girl bodies, but still, it was fun.
I remember Fantasy by Mariah Carey, My Boo by Ghost Town DJs, Love You Down by INOJ, I Wanna Be Down by Brandy, Summertime Summertime by Corina, Release Me by Angelina (a lot of songs from her self titled album), Feel So Good by Lina Santiago.
The video could even be MC's kids and their friends at a car wash. Then Mariah can come pick them up at the end.
Actually the other singers on it sound good and they can stay but Mariah needs more parts. Even background parts like she used to do for Allure.
I know this is wishful thinking but it's fun.

The evolution of Mariah Carey (110,159)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |
|
|
You get it, and I'm glad you addressed it from this angle, I just didn't want to get into it. Part of the main problem "OG's" have is Mariah's leaning towards black music and succeeding at it too - R&B/Hiphop specifically. That's why they will always have a problem with this "New Mariah", so to speak, because that Tommy version was molded to cater to a white audience. Let's call it as it is. However, that's not the real her, never really was to begin with - check "Vision of Love", that's a singer who's main and only influence is black music, gospel, R&B and hip-hop (check the debut album, isn't she rapping on "Prisoner"). What's mind boggling about these OG fans is that new Mariah (true Mariah) has now been out so to speak, much longer (all caps) than hairbangs Mariah (Music Box and Daydream) and she has pretty much remained the same since, yet they're still hooked on the curated Tommy's vision of her and think that somehow, someday she's gonna go back to pop and that image. Smh.
