Tommy again? (111,706) by Edward from USA "HFIA" is a great album and we should all be happy about that. Some people need to realize that Mariah's longevity itself is something to celebrate, 35 years in the business and still this relevant is no small feat. At this point, the conspiracy theories are just exhausting, there's not a one-eye man with crooked teeth and twisted fingers trying to sabotage her. Back in the 90s and 2000s, adults bought CDs and singles, which boosted sales. Today, everything revolves around streaming, and teens are mostly the ones driving that now, it's a completely different game. You don't even have to buy "HFIA", it's available on every streaming platform. But to match a single album purchase, you'd have to stream it over 1,500 times, which is nearly impossible for the average fan. Other than the holidays, when she reigns supreme on all streaming platforms, unfortunately, she doesn't benefit as much from the streaming-heavy system. So, as I stated here before the album even dropped: don't stress over "HFIA" on the charts. Don't let numbers distract you from the fact that Mariah has given us something precious with this album. I was honestly just smiling the whole time, I felt like her bestie hyping her up: "Go girl. Project." But yeah, to the casual viewer at home, this probably came off as stale and a little sad to watch, with her age in context. I thought the general public's sentiment would probably be, "It's time to retire." But I checked the YouTube comments, surprisingly passed the vibe check, it sounded like they are openly just accepting Mariah: "Only Mimi could walk across the stage like a robot and make it iconic." "She gives me everything and nothing at the same time, I love it." LMAO. I know Mariah is mortified of dancing because when she was a little girl, her aunt once used it as a determining factor if she was black or not. (It's so f***ed up) But I wish she could move past that. Heartbreaker-era Mariah doing choreography was so cute. I actually think she's a decent dancer, she has natural rhythm. Obviously not a showstopper but still entertaining to watch. People are accepting of her giving that little now, but maybe she can give a tiny bit more on the stage presence department. My only gripe with these people not fulfilling her creative vision is that if it were Beyonce I'm sure they would all say yes. Anyway, I'm glad we got a solo My Love because it fits in line with all her other white guy covers from those decades. I don't know if I would want her Butterfly Lounge voice on an MJ classic. Here For It All lyrics (111,664) by Lambi from USA I've tried to decipher it and now I've arrived at thinking some of these are Patricia's words to her, Mariah just flipped the POV and turned it into an ode for her babies so they have something to heal with when Mariah's time come. It's also maybe healing for Mariah hearing her mother's own words. I think this is why she sheds a tear every time it's played on interviews. "Just whisper something softly to the wind you want Mariah to hear" could've been "Just whisper something softly to the wind you want Patricia to hear" I know this has something to do with Pat because it's a direct reference of "They Called The Wind Maria" [sic] which is where her mom got her name. The next line, "Just stay with me a while and helped me laugh through the tears til I'm gone" is probably what Pat told Mariah during the last week of her life. Red carpet in Cannes sent me to the film festival and it's literally just Lenny and Lee near her. Maybe they were comforting her while grieving or that line could totally just be something Mariah thought sounded catchy and well-fitting for the chorus. Anyway, I really love this ballad. I Won't Allow It (111,660) by Lambi from USA IWAI is part 2 of YDKWTD. I love how real Mariah is. "He can just be in his own world" is nothing but the truth. Short, honest, and classy. She kept it real without being messy. Yet still very considerate about what she puts out to the media regarding her kids' father. She basically said, "If we keep talking about him, I'm going to end up saying something I shouldn't, so let's just not." Nick is unbearably selfish. It really does take a narcissist to frame it as "all love" in interviews. There's no real co-parenting going on. He pops in and out, at best. There's simply no way to be emotionally or physically present for 12 children living in different homes and give each one the stable life they deserve. Narcs thrive off the image of being the fun, loving parent while living reckless, chaotic lives and not caring who gets hurt in the process. Mariah not only raised her kids well, but she was smart enough to separate herself from his dysfunction and not let his degeneracy taint her wholesome image. He can virtue signal all he wants and keep performing the "at the end of the day, it's all love" talk, but the kids will become adults one day and eventually see it for what it is. The ballads "Nothing Is Impossible" and "Here For It All" sound much stronger than "Portrait" based on the clips I have heard. Other writers are complaining that she seems "too relaxed", as if that's a bad thing? Maybe Mariah's tired of the drama and just wanted to put together an album that was fun and healing for her? She's been working like a dog the last year or so, and she's clearly exhausted. But ultimately nitpicking is what critics do to line their resumes and earn their living, so we really should take it with a grain of salt. The reviews for "Butterfly" on its initial release in 1997 were not amazing, but it went on to be considered her best album by many. Firstly, her pitch is as always, technically perfect which enables her to sing in different keys while staying melodious. Her problem in her latter years has been breath control. She doesn't take in enough oxygen (and wears tight clothes that constrict her chest) these days to sustain notes and sing with power. I think she just needs to do lots of breathwork to improve her oxygen capacity and she'd be back to normal. Mariah's "loss of breath control" is still leagues above the vast majority of singers though. She's lucky her voice just sounds nice too. Recent falsetto (111,415) by Lambi from USA Great observation. I get exactly what you're talking about. To me, she's always gone back and forth, not just with falsetto, but overall. Her tone on Music Box (especially in Without You) was deep, rich, and mature. Then on Daydream, you suddenly hear a brighter, more developed tone, subtly more feminine. By Butterfly, she fully embraced that feminine sound. Then you get those deep, rich tones again in 2003 (You and I), and by 2005 (Stay the Night), she's hitting those stratospheric, bright belts. With this upcoming album spanning seven years in the making, it'll be interesting to see which facets of her voice show up. I have a feeling it'll be a mix of MIAM and Caution, and I'm already hearing hints of E=MC². This is why I think her instrument is such a freak of nature. Like on Sugar Sweet; the few lines before the chorus that begin "Hate it when you have to leave..." sound so unpleasant, especially on the pre-recorded live vocals version she used at Brighton, Sandrigham, VMA and iHeart performances. I have said this before but even on non-falsetto notes, there is something about her vowel sounds on the upper notes that sounds painful. Mariah's voice used to sound full and mature, she used to sing like a woman beyond her years with resonance, now she has gone the opposite way. There is something child-like about how she sings now and it doesn't sound as full as it once did. I'm not describing this at my best but I'm hoping there are vocalists here who understand what I'm trying to say and can hazard a technical explanation of the difference i'm hearing as a non-singer. It sounds like all the vocals are coming from her throat/nose area as opposed to her chest and when she is belting, it sounds the same just louder. (Tuesday 23 September 2025; 10:47)

Celebrities have always been exiled in similar ways. The industry follows the same playbook over and over. The book itself was banned for a reason, it exposes too much. And for the record, I don't take offense when people think "crazy". I'm simply armed with more information. I also don't fault anyone for not being able to keep up. We simply have different interests. I post what I believe to be true anyway, and I try to back it up with facts and elaborate on how I arrived at that conclusion. While I of course, am middle of the road with astrology, in terms of belief, I just think it's such a cool thing to be well-verse on these days. Everyone literally asks about your sign, it's really a great conversation starter. I'm glad you kept your interest. I got really into it. I would meet people and see if their personalities matched with what their planet placements said about them (if I knew their planet placements). As I got older I became more spiritual than religious but I still always pray because I like having a relationship with God. I was once on a dating app for three days and my Scorpio female friend found out everything about a guy I went on a few dates with.
