The list isn't for "who peaked in the 21st century". Mariah wasn't irrelevant in the 21st century. She had a second song of the decade, she had multiple #1s, she broke multiple records including becoming the the artist with the most #1's, she is probably the only artist who ended and started multiple years at the #1 position, 7 top 5 albums , 11 top 20 singles, multiple accolades and other stuff I can remember at this point of time. Also AIW single handedly is responsible for how now more and more artists make Christmas albums early on into their careers. And what do you mean she's not a pop star? Of course she is. Pop isn't only bubblegum pop, it's any artist/music that has been popular at a certain point of time, Billboard named her the greatest popstar of 1991.
