About Lara from Middle East:
I discovered Mariah with "always be my baby"...Got hooked by "my all"..didnt know it was the same artist back then..I couldn't (yet) understand what she was singing! Since then, I've been a big fan and rediscovered her catalogue and appreciate her even more...Searching for her lyrics was my way to learn english :)

That's funny cause i also listened to MOIA today and thought there's somd good songs that didn't get the love they deserve. H.A.T.E U (that video was a crime), Betcha Gonna Know. If you notice on YouTube, Angels Cry is surprisingly one of the most viewed videos of Mariah. But what really made this album special is the mini-magazine included in it.

Social media (61,919)
by Lara from Middle East

Well that's what happens when the social media is run by a 12 (now 13) year old girl. You'll get posts "a la" Kardashian and Jenner. No one take these persons seriously. All of the people resorting to these gimmicks just don't have enough talent. Mariah has the voice, she doesn't need to make the buzz about her body. Yes we know she looks great, she's getting her confidence back and flaunting it but there's some paradox between her words and acts. Anyway a change is needed. She needs to go back to music. On a side note, is it ok for a 13 year old girl to celebrate her birthday in a club like that? Or is it me just getting too old?

The metamorphosis of Mimi (61,220)
by Lara from Middle East

That should be the new album name. Just look at her performances on the Elusive Chanteuse tour and now. You won't recognize her. Her weight, voice atttitude and confidence are totally different. Let the new album and songs show this change. And yes, less layering, more raw vocals.

Oh no, it can't be. Since when Mariah started to act like J-Lo? And Stella is reposting it on her instagram like one wasn't enough. We know Mariah always liked to be (and act) sexy but this isn't. It's vulgar just like someone close to her. I don't like what I'm seeing.

I hope she's just posting this pictures to piss people and tell them to back off. She posted yesterday a picture of her daughter filming and the caption was something like "directing the family show". I hope she's not talking about Mariah's series.

Just one inquiry. Is that video before 1990? Because they mentioned it was before her fame. I thought it was around 91-92.

Parodies (60,298)
by Lara from Middle East
| |
|
|
Every new hit is getting a parody, look at Adele's "Hello" how many parodies it got on YouTube. The lyrics need to be simple, the tune straightforward (less layering) at least at the beginning so people could copy it. Imagine Fantasy released now. I'd do a parody of it and switch the lyrics to "sleep sleep tiny baby, when [...] close [...] eyes [...] make me so happy" lol (it's the sleep deprived mom talking here).

Yes totally a mash up of WBT and Honey. And you can add a bit of "Say something" with the Paris shoots. Good point, why didnt Mariah got to represent a major fashion house/brand?

Yes definitely I want the brown hair back, I think blonde makes her look older, plus we might feel like having 90s Mariah back, the 20 year old one.

Re: Lambily opinion: Mariah's easiest song? (59,025) (59,038)

I though Always Be My Baby was easy to sing untill I've tried it in a karaoke. Wow that sounded so different from singing it in the car, especially when you try to concentrate not to make the same hand movements lol. I guess if you have some skills, Hero is relatively easy (I think this is why most people chose to cover it) or Prisoner if you choose one of her unknown gems.

Re: Single release strategy / Hello (57,629)
by Lara from Middle East

The Art Of Letting Go has a lot of similarities with Hello: their titles rhyme together (lol), both start with minimal production, talking about a old relationship. TALG could use an easier to remember chorus and it needed a video quickly. Another gem gone to waste.

Ariana (not a reply) (57,467)
by Lara from Middle East

|

On the radio I heard a song by Ariana so I shazamed it and it turned out that it's another singer "Pia M(ar)IA" singing "Do it again". My point Ariana may be a good singer and because of that she dared covering Mariah's songs but what makes our elusive chanteuse stands out is her tone. Velvety, buttery, soothing, you name it. Her voice is immediately recognizable. That's for me more important than her range and belts. Anyone can learn to sing but not every voice is "studiogenic".

License to kill (57,466)

I read an article that was ranking James Bond themes with the links for each song and i came across "License to Kill" by Gladys Knight. The first few seconds are surprisingly so close to Mariah's "Can't let Go". Any one else agree?

I would love to hear a duet of Mariah with Enrique Iglesias. I feel their voices would blend nicely together. A song reminiscent of My All maybe? (Writing a list to Saint Nick.)

That's so funny, we lambs are on the same wavelengh. I was just thinking a couple of days ago that if Sony would ever release a new compilation it should be named "Giving chances" and will contain songs most lambs love but didn't get a chance to be released (or released improperly). Mariah Carey: Vanishing / Prisoner Emotions: So blessed / If it's over Music Box: Never forget you Daydream: Melt away / Underneath the stars Butterfly: The roof Rainbow: After tonight Glitter: Lead the way / If we Charmbracelet: I only wanted / Yours (wasn't there a version with Justin Timberlake?) TEOM: Stay the night (although I think that album had [...] choices) E=MC2: Migrate / O.O.C MOIA: Betcha' gon know / It's a wrap MIAMTEC: YDKWTD, Meteorite, MILG, Faded And who knows what other recorded-never-released gems she's hiding?

Ah ok, it's the letter from 2013. I thought there was a new letter (how awesome would that be). No I'm not new, but I open the site from my phone and the format here doesn't show me the history (neither the discography).
