I can't believe people would go and encourage her to do more of that crap especially after it turned her image and credibility into a joke. (2) She's apparently doing a secret project with a friend of hers which will be released soon. (3) The sample was JD's idea. (4) She recorded something recently with Roc and Roe in the studio. She didn't mention if it's a song or not. (5) Her favorite lyric from "I Don't" is "pity party of the year". (6) She wrote the song a month ago. (7) There was a little Brett shade. She didn't mention any names but she said she has the video ready to be released on the same day as the song and she said she usually tries to get the video out as soon as she can but if there's a delay it's not usually her fault. She explains that sometimes her friends direct some of her videos and sometimes they are behind schedule "like 2 weeks" and by that time it's too late. So I'm guessing this is about Brett being late to shoot the "Infinity" video. (8) She said about MW season 2 "you'll have to wait and see". Ok on second thought (71,995) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I listened to the song 4 times back to back after I got home just now, I'll admit the song is not as bad as I thought it was on first listen. The lyrics are still a little meh but I can live with that for now. I can't seem to get into the "boy I was bugging, thinking somehow I could trust you, I used to love, but I don't" part. The verses are nice though and flows well. I like the second verse more. The "when you love someone, you just don't treat them bad" has been stuck in my head since I heard it, and it sounds even better in the full version, it's the best part of the song. Another minor observation, the "love someone" ad lib over the chorus around the 3.28 mark kinda bothers me haha, it's like she attempted to ad lib then decided not to, but it's not a big deal. The song at least sounds complete and not like it stopped suddenly, which was a problem with some of her recent songs. So I'll say overall this is an improvement from her last efforts. Haha I think I spoke too fast when I said I liked "Infamous" better, but I think I said that because I liked the first verse of "Infamous" more than I like the first verse of "I Don't", however the chorus of "I Don't" is catchier and more radio friendly than "Infamous". Anyways, if WBT is what they wanted to recreate, they'll have to try again, it doesn't even come close. I hate to say it but I think I like "Infamous" more than I liked this on first listen. Why can't she just go ahead and surprise everyone with a new collaborator, and this is coming from someone who loves the MC-JD pairing but honestly I'd rather they collaborate on album cuts and leave the single to fresh new collaborators. She's so adamant about wanting to work with JD that she even didn't use the "Empire" team for her song there, I don't think they ever had any other guest who didn't collaborate with their team. I mean I didn't really love the first snippet of the song but the longer snippet made me like it. So maybe the full version will help me like the rap too. Crafting a whole reality show to set up an alternative explanation of what happened to her relationship when the whole world already knew the truth, pushing this "Tanaka is my soul mate" crap too hard (maybe because Packer disliked him) and saying "oh I know him for so long, there's a connection that you can't have with everybody" and how he's her bestie, when she herself stated in the beginning of the show that she hasn't seen him since TAOM. Also back then M never hung out with her dancers, which was also confirmed when Anthony said that the first time he performed with MC, he only saw her for the first time when they had to hit the stage. Now she has the whole "ring drop" scene and then wearing the ring on her middle finger for the music video, almost falling off her hand. All of these are just extra. (Thursday 2 February 2017; 4:25)

Credibility (71,933) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter It's really sad how Mariah basically ruined her own credibility in the last 2 years. Before that I don't think anyone would question her account of what Tommy did. Now, even if she was saying the truth, people will always think maybe it's not the complete truth because of all the mess she and her team created around her image. From fake story lines to fake boy toys, only M and her team are to be blamed for people suddenly questioning her. It also doesn't help that she has been completely swallowed by her diva persona, something she previously said that she is in on, now it seems like it's not just an act but it has slowly taken over her. I wish this reality show in particular never took place, it's possibly something (among other things) that has created a huge dent in her credibility. Never in my life did I think I would have to wonder why Mariah Carey, a singer with genuine talent and well deserved fame, would feel the need to go on a publicity stunt over drive. It's like she can't stop the drama, one drama after another is lined up. (Thursday 2 February 2017; 2:39)

Promotion for the single (71,922) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I hope they have a string of promotional appearances lined up right after the single releases and this should include live performances on the shows. They are doing a good job with releasing little teasers everyday, until the release, maybe next they can release a small sneak peak of the video like they did during the #Beautiful promotions. Then once the song drops, Mariah should go on some important shows and perform it live. Also they should try to get her on some of the award shows. (Wednesday 1 February 2017; 18:01)

(71,909) (71,917) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Haha this, whether James is nice or not, he has quietly moved on and all the allegations they threw at him (him getting hostile with Mariah's assistant, James being unstable, James not being there enough) the only thing we got from James' side was a polite decline to comment or just a "it's not true". Whereas from Mariah's side, Stella can't seem to stop with the drama. They can't seem to let go of it and suddenly everything is centered around this break up. Even her break up from her partner and husband of so many years (Cannon) didn't get 1/4th the publicity that this one is getting. Like Ribbon said, first there was the "I fired Cindi", "I let go of my old staff", now "I dumped James" and all these. Then we hear she cancelled the South American tour because of problems with the promoters, but just days later they leak stories that Mariah was heart broken from James calling off their engagement so she wasn't emotionally ready. Then with the NYE-Anthony drama. Facts are not adding up, they are serving different versions of the same story and it's doing no favor to Mariah's image. The classier move would have been to just move on. Now we get the "this song is about Packer" promotion whereas even when M broke up from Nick and songs like "Camouflage" and "Faded" surfaced, she always maintained that these songs have open meanings and are not necessarily about a certain person. I think she went as far as to say that she wrote sad songs even when she was with Nick, but they were happy and all so it's just an artistic outlet. But now this song is being promoted as a diss/break up song especially for Packer. It's really getting immature and petty. There is no need for the drama. (Wednesday 1 February 2017; 16:54)

Like The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, Zayn Malik (who has recently called Mariah one of his musical inspirations) and other current artists. So far we know she has collaborated with Travis Scott and DJ Khaled on a track but that is likely to be on Khaled's album. I didn't hear Khaled's new material but I heard it's good so that's nice. As much as I love JD and MC together, I think her new singles should be with new collaborators, just to stir things up. I also think she shouldn't bother trying to recreate WBT because anything else will never match up to the strength of that song so instead she should just give that up and work on creating a new sound. She had a break through song mid 90s with "Fantasy", then in mid 2000s she comes out with WBT, in the mid 2010s she should get another fresh sound and if anyone can reinvent it's definitely Mariah. But for that she needs to be inspired and I feel like with her taking up so many gigs she isn't getting much time to write songs. Which is sad because I'm always hungry for new MC music. Anyways I really hope she indeed means it when she says that she is working on "long awaited" collaborations and some people her fans have been wanting her to work with. I'll try to be positive and hope that the video is better than the last few we got and has a story line or at least makes sense. The third visual though, what in BDSM mess is that? Haha, but this is the most outfit changes we've seen her have in a video since TEOM days, so maybe that's a good sign that there will be several different scenes instead of just one painfully drawn out scene like YME (her sitting on that darn chair in the gorgeous rain forest covering her boobs and looking uncomfortable) and #Beautiful (the explicit version where they just keep showing the scenes of her in the yellow dress and not the inter cut bike scenes).The song, the more I listen to the snippet, the more I'm warming up to it, so I'm excited to hear the full final version because even the snippet we heard may not have been the final cut. I wish her mouth was closed though haha, it's a little awkward. But I can live with it. YG looks hot tamale. She's wearing wedding night lingerie though so I gotta prepare myself for some awkward drama but I really hope they have a good storyline and not just a mess montage of her touching herself and giving bedroom eyes to the camera. This isn't new though, she has been saying this in almost all interviews that she has worked with some people that fans have been asking her to collaborate with but won't reveal it because she doesn't want the concept stolen. We'll know tonight if for the second day countdown she uses a different picture. This might now be the final cover. As for the ring, the woman really needs to take it off and turn it into another piece of jewellery, like a pendant or something. It's so ridiculous that she's wearing this after claiming how much pain James caused her and then taking it off in the preview clip and now wearing it again. (Tuesday 31 January 2017; 16:09)
