Ok Matt, you have orgasms while listening to Butterfly album and watching the Heartbreaker video, we get it. Calm. Down. Thankfully, Bowen was an anchor to keep the converastion in more down to Earth way. Releasing the Someone's Ugly Daughter would be a great move if that album is really good and not some kind of mockery of alt rock music, which would just backfire. Podcast (107,525) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter The podcast was a cute moment. The hosts were certified lambs and I think their love for Mariah kinda put Mariah at ease. Nowadays during interviews she's mostly bored or goes off tangent but this interview she was calm, checked in and answered properly. She seemed a little nervous almost trying to see if the hosts are actually genuine in their compliments but once she realized they were, she let her personality shine. The interviewers matched her humour (I think Mariah's humor is seriously underrated). Nothing ground breaking really came of the interview, I think we scared Mariah into constantly stating she's no longer going to say "soon" when it comes to releases because the fans get agitated. Mariah sounded really humble when they talked about her impact in shaping the music industry and genre blending. She really is a legend. It's crazy how she set so many trends and I think she doesn't get enough credit. It made me sad when she said she was more confident performing back in the day than she is now. Probably because she could rely more on her voice back then. She talks about working on new things and I wonder what it means, like are all previous projects scrapped, is she still working on previous projects? What I wouldn't do to know the insights haha. AMAs performance (107,512) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I think the problem lies in the fact that everyone and I mean everyone including industry big shots are always talking about how insane Mariah's vocals are and everyone really focuses on how her voice is unparalleled that she kinda feels like she can't make mistakes. We know Mariah is self conscious so she probably feels like people will think less of her if her voice isn't "perfect" and we've seen that happen too. The ridicule she faces everytime she makes mistakes and people declaring it "her voice is over", "she's not what she used to be" and all, I guess it gets to her because again Mariah lives for the validation. I mean this woman spent the last 30 years of her life determined to only be photographed from one side because someone told her in the 90s that that's her good side. Mariah's voice is her identity and I think she's not ready yet to modify it. I'm ok with that, she's been trying to sing more and more live. I do believe most of the AMA performance was live if not fully because she isn't also great at lip syncing so much ahah we've seen it be very visible in some concerts. AMAs performance (107,502) by BFF from United States The AMAs performance seemed lip-synched to me, but I guess the vocals could have been compiled from multiple takes like someone else mentioned. Mariah seemed a little more energetic than she has been at the Vegas residency, so that was a plus. I wonder if she is planning something to coincide with the actual 20th anniversary of TEOM's release date next year. There is least one song from those sessions ("When I Feel It") that isn't available on streaming, and maybe there are some other unreleased songs from those sessions. I'm bidding my time for when Mariah finally does some sort of "Glitter" re-release/celebration. She worked on the film and the soundtrack for approximately 3-4 years, so there's bound to be a ton of material buried somewhere. And we still don't have EPs for "Loverboy", "Never Too Far", "Never Too Far/Hero", "Don't Stop", etc. I guess Virgin Records hasn't been easy to work with on that front. The "homage" photo is too edited, too structured and very "staged". The original cover of AIW is so effortless, she looks like she was just running around the snow and decided to sit down and take a photo, she's got her hair flying over her face and her smile is stunning. The new one is more of an homage to MC2Y cover. The second cover is ok but her eyes look a little weird. Waiting to see the other 2. Mariah used to work with such legendary photographers, I wonder who she works with now. They airbrush her too much when she doesn't need it. She looks flawless in her candids. I also loved the different arrangements she did in some parts of the song. How is this song almost 2 decades old but still gives people goosebumps? What a modern classic. Mariah looked like a true glamorous Hollywood diva. I'm so happy for her. She's been going through such a difficult time in the past few months and the fact that she's finding peace in her music, performance and fans is amazing to see. She looks like a cross between Charmbracelet and TEOM Mariah. She looked so endearing standing there trying to give it her all, I got emotional seeing her. WBT will always be that girl, the moment the intro notes starts everyone loses their mind. It's great to see everyone having a good time and singing along with her. I am just hoping for a dance performance of DFAU. Someone enlightened me in my old age, the dance version of My All that MC performed on the VH1 Diva's special, was that a version she sang just for the special or is that one of the My All 12 inch remixes? Because she has the songs pre-recorded she should try and be more relaxed on stage. (107,430) by Shezz from Pk Robert Anthony, I think we are forgetting the live performances she was giving early last year. I made an effort not to see them because they made me uncomfortable. And if MC is one thing, she's self conscious and cares how she appears. I think she made a conscious decision after that that she'd rather fully lip and only look bad to the handful of us who notice rather than sound bad and off key to the entire world. To the average listener, the vocals she's recorded for this year's live shows seem very much live. Do I wish she could still sing live? Yes I do. Am I going to renounce my lambily passport if she keeps lipping? Never in a million years. I'm more interested in the music she releases to add to her catalog that I'll be listening to until I'm old and have no teeth. Will I care then whether she lipped or sang live 40 years ago in Beijing or Rio or Vegas? I think not. There are much bigger issues in the world to lose sleep over. (Monday 30 September 2024; 11:41)

She has been looking great. And yes, the monitor watching is extremely annoying. She won't let anyone take them away - she clearly needs them. Is she using it more for covers and songs she doesn't sing often or everything? Maybe the monitor tells her which lines to sing and which to mime? Remembering which line she has to actually sing has to be tricky. From the looks of it, she's lip syncing as much as Vegas. I'm sure she remembers the words to Always Be My Baby. My only gripe was that it felt short, but I loved how she switched up the setlist a bit and still sang all our favorite songs. In São Paulo, after the show ended and the lights went out, she came back a few minutes later and sang IWKWLI barefoot, catching everyone off guard - even her crew. Especially around TEOM era they were photographed together a lot including him being on stage with her at one of the TAOM shows. She had also shared in The Meaning of Mariah how Tommy had racist comments about Diddy when Diddy was new and how she defended his artistry when she was asked about it during some kind of gathering. All this doesn't mean she knew what he did and turned a blind eye, she very well could have had a very different experience with him where he wouldn't dare mess with her during the 90s due to Tommy and him being new and after that she was a bigger star than him. So it could be due to her having a different sort of experience with him she didn't know but it's not true that she cut him off after the 90s. A quick Google search will show many photos. Right before that her 2 songs Nonsense and Feathers were somewhat popular. The Taylor endorsement helped. But she also put out some really catchy, easy to digest pop songs which had throwback good old pop days vibes and almost each song had those viral lyrics like "Espresso" with "I'm working late cause I'm a singer", then "please please please" with "I beg you don't embarrass me MF" which led to so many tiktok reels, and all her videos had very fun replay value. Kinda feels like she meant if we were expecting Mariah. And then under a comment about someone saying something about Mariah, Netflix replied with "imagine if they collaborate". Do you guys think Mariah may make a cameo? It'd be fun. Sabrina is fun and quirky and she basically owned this year with back to back bangers. Let’s be respectful (107,272) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter This isn't directed at anyone in particular so please don't come at me, but let's all try to be respectful during this time. We can all sit and speculate and debate whether Mariah should try and mend her relationship with her brother or should not bother. I know we are all coming from a place of care and love for Mariah but it's not our place to say what she should do with her relationships. We don't have the full facts of what went on behind the scenes, we don't know how much it impacted Mariah, yes she talks about it in her memoirs but she also holds back so we might not have the whole picture. I understand the need to have family around especially when you have a loss as big as this but at the same time what if the family member is someone who causes you to lose your mental peace and well being? All of this to say, let's not fight amongst ourselves for something that's very personal to Mariah. Let us just hope she does what gives her peace and that she has the support she needs during this time of such tragic loss. She's had such a complicated relationship with her mother and sister it must be a lot of conflicting feelings she's going through right now. Let's give her the space to process those.
