Music from MC (43,028) by Bradley Zirker from United States Charmbracelet will forever be my #1 favorite album by Mariah Carey. Can't Let Go will forever be my #1 favorite song by Mariah Carey. Her music is the soundtrack of my life in so many ways. Everything Fades Away, Slipping Away, Looking In, Side Effects, I Wish You Well, Close My Eyes, Petals, Through The Rain, Alone In Love, After Tonight, Can't Let Go, Make It Happen, Never Forget You are just a few songs from her that speaks to my spirit on a personal level. Mariah Carey fans (43,024) by Bradley Zirker from United States It is so funny to see how everybody is talking shit about the direction Mariah is going in her career and yet I bet when her album finally comes out, all of you are going to be praising her voice up to the sky. Now don't get me wrong, I love Mariah but yes, I am a little tired of waiting for this album. I am anxious just like the rest of the fans out there. Antonio (43,023) by Blake from USA I hope your post wasn't referring to mine. I showed no hate for anyone, even Ariana. I was stating that she is exploding with #1 on iTunes. Good for her I say. I like her and think she is slowly coming into her own. I do think she is often imitating MC but time is her friend to find her own artistry. I did show concern for Mariah on radio with this new album should it ever be released only because if an artist sounds similar to her (vocally), it could be harder to be played. I was simply asking will this be more trouble with this era's success? Mariah sure don't need anymore problems. Love the Lambily forever. (Tuesday 29 April 2014; 14:27)

The Today Show Toyota Concert series (43,021) by clueey23 from USA They just announced that MC will kick it off 5/16/14. Something is just telling me that this era is gonna be something special at the end of the day. I just want MC to sing all new material. I don't wanna hear "We Belong Together" or "Hero" or anything from the 90s on this concert performance. Lol. I think that if she kinda moved away from huge songs from the past she would be able to draw more attention to the new material instead of deflecting with "Always Be My Baby". IDJ (43,019) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom Oh my, it's all turning into one huge mess. Mariah and IDJ have been having differences of opinion for a while. However, this album has been years in the making, and yet they've not sorted it out yet. IDJ obviously feel threatened by an initial iTunes only release. If such a release strategy was to take off, it means the record company becomes less important, because there is less reliance on the company for distribution etc. Whilst I don't think a "surprise" iTunes release would be a great move for Mariah in terms of sales, I would like her to do it, with or without IDJ's permission, just to annoy them and make a point. In the unlikely event that it generated buzz for her album, and this sales, then that would be the icing in the cake lol. (Tuesday 29 April 2014; 11:49)

Ariana Grande (43,018) by Antonio from Spain I think that some lambs have been incredibly harsh on Ariana Grande without any reasons. I like Ariana a lot, I've listened to her Yours Truly album several times and I'm a hardcore Mariah fan and I don't see those many similarities. Yes, she can do the whistle, whatever, and "The Way" is reminiscent of some Mariah songs, yeah, okay. She's been influenced by Mimi because she has always looked up to her, I don't think she is trying to be the next Mariah and I feel bad for her for all the comparisons she is getting just because she is reminiscent of Mariah. Actually, I love the fact that they are making sure that she is known for her vocals. Move on and let that girl shine and enjoy the success she deserves because we all now she is far more talented than the singers of her generation, she doesn't need to take her clothes off. It just makes me so mad. Why so much hate? I completely respect that some people don't like her, but sometimes their opinions sound way inmature. Love to you all, family. Not a full album (43,017) by Orkun from The Netherlands Beautiful, TAOLG and You're Mine are on the album. We are only waiting to hear 7-8 songs more. I don't expect new stuff happening on the album. It's gonna be the same old repitition. I don't get a creative feeling from this album at all. I'm even angry with almost everything that's been going on. Damage controle? How far can you stretch it? Excite-a-tivity (43,016) by nikki from usa From what I gathered, MC didn't say it would be a "surprise" release. She said it would be digital and Def Jam said it would also be a physical commercial release on the same day. What MC said that was exciting - was like Beyonce - by releasing it digitally, we'll get that material all at once and be able to decide the singles. Finally. If she lets the fans decide the singles as a loophole to all this ish IDJ has been releasing than MC found her pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We'll be able to get the songs on radio that we want to hear. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Mine had great potential, but I think this was more of IDJ encouraging MC to recreate WBT than it was a natural choice MC would've made on her own. Joy Ride (43,012) by ACMRitz from United States What if all this confusion and contradiction is simply fuel to the surprise element? Everyone is trying to stir up confusion so that no one really expects when the album comes out. (I am not saying it's the wisest strategy.) I don't want to directly answer to anyone but I don't think we should rush Mariah to put an album out at our convenience, so what if she takes 1 or 5 or 10 years? She can release it when she feels it's ready (as long as it's allowed on the contract). As someone else said, at least she didn't have us cold turkey for all this time without new music. She's given us samples, whether you liked them or not. I honestly cannot wait for the release of this new album, I check this website everyday along with twitter for any updates. "Negativity" / let's be real (43,010) by Marissa from USA As far as the people who are irritated with the "negativity" on this messageboard, in an era where we have been completely out of the loop and given countless mixed messages and not necessarily the best music compared to the past, it has honestly been a struggle to find the silver lining in this. The best things about this era to me were her outfits on American Idol, #Beautiful and her last impromptu performance. From You're Mine's release to now has turned into a debacle. No one is on a mission to be negative, but when you have no information at all it only highlights the many issues of this era, thus it ends up being talked about. As far as the whole "if the lambs don't buy this album, millions of others will" thing, let's be real. This is not '05. You think the general public is going on a scavenger hunt for more info? No one would endure this stuff but the lambily because people don't have this kind of patience. Especially since these big articles are having confusion over the release date and no new info, the gp is most likely over it. When you confuse them, they move on and buy someone else's album. After lukewarm singles, the lambily is the target audience. If you don't catch the gp with hot singles, they could give a f*** about the album. (Tuesday 29 April 2014; 1:26)

Girl has sold stupid amounts of singles and albums, had successful world tours, generated conversation about her voice (for better or worse) and had 18 American number one singles. This is Mariah Carey. She may not be who or what people here want her to be, but she is an enigma, a woman who knows what to do and how to do it, but says screw it, I'll do what I want. I not only admire her, I applaud her and implore her not to change. So few will ever come close to achieving a tenth of what my idol has achieved, so to every naysayer I say [censored] it. Mariah did it her way. And judging by her behaviour, she loves it like that. And whether you folks buy the record or not, there will always be at least one who will buy her work and love her. Well it's official (43,007) by Randy from USA I'm laughing at all the fans that said, "No, it's coming May 6, calm down and be patient." I love MC dearly and I will buy the album, but I think I knew when YME flopped and there was no immediate follow up, we would be waiting. But no, according to the "real fans" I was being "negative". I want MC's success like the next person but even if MC can't tell us what's going on between her and IDJ legally, can we get a new single, video, title, track listing, something on May 6? And listen, I think it's pretty stupid to not buy the album because it's being pushed back, however what the lambily needs to accept is that with all this foolishness, and let's be clear this is foolishness between her and the label not strategy by someone who's been in the business for 25 years, the lambily are the only buyers for this album. Better not piss them off. Throw them something because the general public will not care when or what she releases at this point, as shown by the sales of her last 4 singles. Island Def Jam (43,005) by G.G. from USA I've thought for a while now that there is some kind of problem going on with Mariah's label IDJ. Now I'm sure of it. Otherwise why would IDJ come out after her Billboard interview and contradict what Mariah said? I think that a lot of her problems have come from IDJ. I think that IDJ didn't like the material she presented them and refused to release it as it is. That might've been part of the delay from last year. I'm sure after MC's contract is done with IDJ she'll fill us in, but right now she can't speak out against her own label. I'll be glad when MC is done with her contract there and moves to a label that helps her and promotes her properly. (Monday 28 April 2014; 22:47)

Well, it's official (43,002) by Will from England I haven't got the slightest inkling of what's going on anymore. The following basically sums up the last few days of album related news: Billboard - "It's a surprise release." IDJ - "It's not a surprise release." Mariah - "It's an all-at-once release." IDJ - "It's not an all-at-once release." Mariah - "It's coming May 6th." IDJ - "It's coming anytime after May 6th." Mariah - "The album info will be released at the same time." IDJ - "We have no idea what's going on. Neither do you." Jermaine - "The album is done." Mariah - "That's what you think dahling." That's what this has essentially boiled down to. Era unknown (43,001) by MCder from USA I can understand the frustation about the release of the album delays but great things take time. Yes we all would love a full album from our beloved Mariah but at least she released some material for us to carry us over, whether good or bad, until the album is finally in our grasp. There are things Mariah should clear up in terms of contradictive information by various articles but does she really have to, no. I don't think it's disrespectful to the fan-base to not give all the information about the album because we know that it's coming but give it time. Honestly, Mariah can't please everyone simply because they wanted Ballad-Riah; so she gave us TAOLG and people complained. Prior to that they wanted Urban-Riah so she gave us Triumphant and people definitely complained. No matter how many ways you cut the bread, Mariah legacy is definitely set in stone. Let's take a look at Patti and Aretha. They haven't released material in ages but their fan-bases are appreciative when they grace the stage with performances of older material. Yes Mariah voice has its moment but she is human. Whether you support her or not, she will still be paid. (Monday 28 April 2014; 22:17)

Billboard interview (42,999) by Gerald from USA by the way of NYC After reading the billboard interview I feel MC and her team had an initial plan in motion while the label obviously has another plan, which tells me there is trouble behind the scenes with Mariah and Def Jam, which further delayed this album. Stop (42,996) by B from USA The media and fans (fans of Bey and MC) need to stop with the claims of copying or ripping off. People know Mariah is releasing an album, they had no clue Bey was. Mariah's surprise is the track listing, art work, and title. Not the album. I love You're Mine (Eternal), if it had been released in 2005 or 2008 it would have been a huge hit #1. I'm shocked it didn't do well on the R&B charts. It's a great song. #Beautiful and You're Mine (Eternal) are great songs. She's still an amazing songwriter and she's still an amazing singer. She'll deliver an amazing album. Her hip hop collaborations will be nothing like Triumphant, she's not stupid. She reads her reviews. After Triumphant she releases #Beautiful. I don't think this is a make or break it album like the Billboard story claimed. I think she's spent the last few months writing strong singles. She's a pop genius and this album is going to proof it, mark my words. Mariah is on fire. Mariah is the queen. Often imitated never duplicated. (Monday 28 April 2014; 20:15)

He will post good and bad Mariah mentions, staying true to the point of this site, giving us "all" available access to MC. However, I really wish there would be a rule against negative, ignorant comments or solicitations. No one on this site knows the intricacies associated with this album, its creation or its release. Sure, she gives us all kinds of "excuses" and we want her to tell us the "truth" but, the whole situation may be way more complex and involved than a simple explication could satisfy. If you don't want to buy the album, then don't. Your loss. But don't poison people on here with your ignorant, misdirected anger. How do you say, "I bought every singe Mariah album but, she's pissed me off, I'm not getting this one." If you've been buying MC albums for 20 years and emotionally, this is where you stand with her and her most recent project, you have "a lot" more problems you should be focusing on other than "when Mariah will drop her album" and all the other ridiculous associated ultimatums that have been suggested by these "frustrated", fair weather fans. MC, whenever you decide to put out your album, I will buy it, on day one, just as I have since I was in 10th grade, when I wasn't allowed into English class because my teacher warned me not to skip lunch to go get my Music Box album, as I had solicited to everyone I knew, weeks before its release.
